I just got the TaoTronics transmitter. I mainly use it in receiver mode to make my non-wireless headphones Bluetooth capable.

Thanks again for all this information.
I was using two InEar BT-031 to send and receive an audio signal in Bluetooth (monitoring). It's a bit useful (to share the audio signal as you mentioned even from some small recorder), especially since it's not very expensive. Simply, there was a concern of latency. On the other hand, what you apparently propose could be even more practical.

Quick question regarding the Retekess FM transmitter: As your test had the signal coming from yards away, would you say that transmitting within the car into the stereo is crystal clear? Would you even go so far as to say it’s as clear as using a direct, line-in connection into the car stereo?
Is the signal quality MUCH better than say, any usual consumer FM transmitter that plugs into the car cigarette lighter?
(Note: my use case scenario has MP3 players and CD players in mind to use this thing to play into a car stereo that has no AUX or Bluetooth. And sound quality is my goal, avoiding as much static as possible.)

What FM power level was it set to when you were 125ft away in the car?

Be careful with the Retekess FT11... It doesn't seem FCC approved, which mean it illegal to use in the USA / Canada unless you have a broadcast license ! You can check this site for a lost of Part 15 FCC approved FM transmitter which you can use legally ! : www.hobbybroadcaster.net/resources/Part-15-transmitters.php

Use it in Japan. 76 - 108 MHz. I also used Japanese FM band on 81.7 MHz as TV sound of US analog TV channel 5. Bunch of Japanese radios and Chinese / US TV Sound radios to transmit to.

I BOUGHT THAT FT11 from Aliexpress, i had a special pencil case for those FM transmitters to put in my carry on luggage alongside with my TV Sound, HD RADIO, Japanese FM band FM radios (Eton Grundig, Elpa, Midland, Sony, etc...) departure on any Canadian airports don’t care and if on hold, they asked you “are these electronics?” I said yes, and they gave me my carry on before boarding the plane. Transit stopovers in London Heathrow, and Hong Kong International Airport, no problem. Also on Departure on Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. They didn’t open my bag on what’s on it and it’s ok.

As you know that any kinds of FM transmitters are not to bring onboard the cruise ship. They cause interfearance on ship’s communications. They confiscated it and returned it at prior to arrival at the end of cruise. Baby Monitors or any 900 MHz wireless transmitters could cause interfearance to ship’s navigational systems.

I used it here in the Philippines and transmit on 81.7 MHz it also interfere’s analog TV channel 5 in Manila, and that’s ok. There’s digital ISDB-T boradcast on UHF. No worries. Using Samsung multisystem TV PAL NTSC and rechannel to 77.25 MHz video, i set FT11 FM transmitter to 83.7 MHz and switch TV sound system carrier to system PAL-D/K (6.5 MHz carrier) it receives great on 83.7 MHz, 82.7 MHz for system PAL-B/G (5.5 MHz carrier sound). PAL-I is 6 MHz. Tested on analog TV channel 5 and transmit on various Japanese FM frequencies from 77 - 82 MHz. It receives weird static movement to the TV. Interferes with video.
