I would just spend the extra money on a 5600x (or ideally another $25 above that for a 5700x) and B550, and I would never consider Zen 2. This way it will be a nicer PC overall for the long haul and will support PCIe 4. You can also get a 6700xt or 6750xt 12GB for about what those 7600xt's are showing up as, they are close performancewise, but there are a few games that favor 67xx over 7600 and vice versa.
I like how you swapped new garbage tier platform for previous gen solid one. Decent B450 is also good compromise. I would definitely stretch the budget to Ryzen 5600. Outdated CPU on an older platform is one bridge to far IMHO.
@@PCBuilderChannel I've been seeing more and more Gamemax cases lately, and they're usually blatant copycats of better-known brands. I saw one of their cases called HYPE, which is a direct copy of the Hyte Y60, and costs about 10 euros more than the Hyte Y40. There's of course a copy of the Lian Li Dynamic, but also something they called the Diamond COC🤣
@@markomarkovic5729 not just mimicking design (which I'm all for and think is a part of innovation) but just copypasta of Hyte imaging and support documentation... it's insane and incredibly lazy. We as a community cannot support such low effort endeavors.
With the way prices change over the world the RX GPU isn't automatically a given. Where I live a friend asked about components for a new computer so I put together two alternatives that really only differed in the GPU. One with a RX GPU and one with a RTX GPU and digging through benchmarks it turned out that at the price the Nvidia based RTX 4070 Super spanked the RX option and the RTX was cheaper. At first I was convinced that the RX would win regular rendering but loose ray tracing. Turned out the 4070 Super won in all categories. It's actually almost up to 4070 Ti which was just too expensive and the Ti Super version doesn't really make a significant headroom over it's non Super older version. All in all the AMD based graphics cards are just way to expensive locally. Cost performance are generally in advantage for Nvidia powered GPU's which makes it kind of frustrating to see the prices abroad for Radeon graphics cards. Sure you can buy from other countries, but then the delivery cost usually makes that a bad option.
Companies advertising DDR5 as "dual channel" feels like when they try to pass off USB 3.0 as USB 3.2. They're hoping you don't know the channel width of DDR5 is half of DDR4. Fraudulent!
5:02 Mistake, that is not dual channel. Instead of one 64-bit channel per module, you get two 32-bit channels per module. It will show "2x 32-bit" for a single module, even though physically (seen from the board) it runs in single-channel mode. There is more efficient memory access, but no speed gain unlike "real" dual channel, 2× DDR5 modules will double the effective throughput.
Yes that is how it works. However, since we aren't talking about the motherboard side, we're talking specifically about the DIMM operation, it is quad channel on the DIMMs.
It's sort of like one double wide lane of traffic... still functionally one lane but can move stuff side by side sometimes. Very bad example probably 😂
haha i just commented a day before about the 7500f and Jason replied with a build on this video, absolute legend. Now i have such a great reference to build my 7500F paired with the 6700 XT. Thank you for the video.
Heyi man! I just wanted to say that i love this kind of series where you explain what is wrong with the parts we pick and you giving better alternatives. Thank you for paving ways for aspiring builders! Cheers!
@@PCBuilderChannel Glad you finally included a UK build as well, always feels like it's a struggle building something here when all the best PC build videos are US based. Makes me feel a lot better about the pricing of our PC parts when you say these are good deals with included taxes!
@@PCBuilderChannel My favorite channel when it comes to PCs. I like watching ZTT's videos as well, but I think he's exaggerating the claim that AM4 is a dead platform. Yes, AM5 is a better option, but newer and better motherboards for that platform will be released, as newer PCIe standards will be released, as will faster ddr5 RAM with lower latency. I don't know about others, but I usually update my hardware every 4-5 years, so in 5 years I'll definitely have to buy a new motherboard and new RAM, regardless of the platform I'm currently on. Certainly the R5 7600 is a better option than the AM4 CPUs, but both the 5600x and especially the 5800x3d/5700x3d are very capable gaming CPUs.
Love this video. Thank you for including us folks in the UK. Really felt like this video had a personal touch as an englishman myself. We call our cents "pence" just to let you know. 👍🏿👍🏿
Question for you, Jason. Do people ever follow up and show you the builds they did based on your recommendations? It would be interesting to see how things turned out and how satisfied they are. Thanks to you and your cats for all your help!
You're so welcome, the cats thank you! We have a members-only discord channel where members often share their builds :) Check out the link in the recent community post if you're interested!
Your cat is named Waffles? Mine is Pancake! XD Also, I have to thank you (again) for your videos! I just got my 1st build put together, got it to POST to UEFI menu on the first try. Absolutely loving the performance of 7800X3D and a 4070 Ti Super (Amp Holo from Zotac, a hefty card).
For the first build. I would have chosen a b550 like the Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE AX Micro ATX for 109USD at amazon (4/25/24) or the MSI PRO B550M-VC WIFI Micro 119USD, Both have Wifi 6, Howerver the MSI board has 3.2 10Gb USB A 2 of them (I use adapters A to C adapter cables and gender changers all 10Gb) I have use this board with the r5 3600 in 4 builds and have no problems with a 7600, 6600, 6700xt and are RTX 3060 12GB.
Jason its Pounds and pence in the UK...compared with dollars and cents :) Great vid and excellent that you did a UK review - really means a lot to your viewers across the pond.
I think the guy with the USD 650 build should have said what games he is playing and if he can upgrade very soon. If he expects to get another USD 300-400 soon for upgrading, then a R5 7600 build may make sense. A few months on a RX 580 second hand for USD 50, one 16GB stick and a better PSU and motherboard could hold him over playing slightly older games and eSports games. Then a next-gen Radeon for USD 300 and another stick of RAM will come in as a super nice upgrade.
I disagree here, no matter what games it would end up costing more to upgrade out of this disaster of a build later to end up properly matching the 7600, then just building at the proper level now then upgrading with a 5700X3D in the future.
@@PCBuilderChannel I agree that the motherboard and PSU are disasters. And the Rx 5700XT @usd 200 is a no-mo. But the only "loss" in my alternative suggestion above (better motherboard and PSU + Second hand Rx 580) is the price loss for 5 months on a RX 580. If he buys it at USD 60 and sells it at USD 50, only real loss is the USD 10. But again, that's a niche scenario of expecting to get another USD 300-400 in 5 months. The OP did not indicate that's his scenario, so I agree your build was probably more adequate.
hahah was about to say it , i just built my first pc with a 7600, 7700xt , b650 pro rs and rx750e , works like a charm, thankyou for the inspiration and guidance man.
Lots of useful information in this boost my build. I knew ddr5 slots are dual channel so I thought 1 stick should be ok, but the source for that information never said that with 2 sticks you run quad channel. And it's great that you're telling people to stay away from that dumpster fire of a PSU. You're not just informing this one builder, everyone needs to know this PSU is not ok.
4:40 ddr5 modules aren't really dual channel, but rather have a single channel with 2 32-bit wide sub channels performance wise 1 stick of 4800 ddr5 is close to dual channel 2400 ddr4
Stuck between choosing the R5 3600 and 5500 for an X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming. Right now my specs are similiar to the suggested build: RX 6600, 2x8 gb 3200 Kingston Fury Beast and a funny R5 1600 AE version :))
@itsatrap4986 5600 is excellent. However, i am interested in playing games released before 2022 and i do plan to build a new pc in 2028/2029. I already have the setup built with the specs mentioned above. The 5600 becomes a bit of a waste for a x470 (pcie gen 3 mb), paired with rx6600

I got the smart 430W years ago, and it still runs great for my in-laws. Gamers Nexus is a better reviewer than the PSU cultist list. Still, it's just an iGPU build, and it's first on my list for the next upgrade
The issue is that the protections on the PSU don't reliably work. That is why it is rated F tier. My advice would be to replace it with the 550W MSI unit.
I’m sure that they have gotten better, but my first TT 430W PSU (ketchup and mustard) lasted for almost 15 years until the fan began to rattle then the whole unit gave up.
Hey man, love your channel and especially these boost your build videos. I'm in the Uk. I fell into many of the traps you talk about on this channel last year. I went 7700 non x with a 6750xt. Im now on a 1440p monitor and play mostly single player rpgs or AAA titles as I've come over from playstation but I'm struggling for fps in the new titiles. Shouldve spent more on my gpu !!! Any pointers for a gpu upgrade that will sort me out for the next few years, was looking at the 6950xt as there are a few second hand ones around for £540 ish, but should i save and spend a bit more on another gpu? thanks
6750 XT is fairly good at 1440p, but if you feel the need for more FPS the 6950 XT would be a substantial upgrade, as would the 7900 GRE which gives about the same performance brand new with better power usage and AV1 encoding. Hope that helps!
For that price get a 7900 GRE, it's faster, cooler, and uses less power, and supports all of AMD's latest tech. They have them new on Amazon at the price you quoted. The Hellhounds are an excellent compromise of price, performance, noise and cooling. Don't get caught up in the various tiers of Radeon cards within a manufacturer's lineup, the performance difference between the AMD reference design and the hugest, most expensive, overengineered ones (i.e. Sapphire Nitro and Powercolor Red Devil) is like 4%. The rest of your system sounds pretty good to me. I would NOT consider building a system with a 2 generations old CPU, personally. Yours is fairly future-proof.
You might have a few hidden costs with the 6950xt, because it's huge and draws a lot of power. So if your case can't fit a 3 slot and your PSU isn't 1000w, you may have to upgrade these too! I got one and thought my 850w PSU would be enough, no dice.
Hello jayson 👋🏻 im trying to build my new pc with i9 14900k with rtx 4070 ti super so which mobo should i go ? Asus z790 p ddr5 or msi pro z790 p ddr5 or should i increase my budget and get better board ?
I don't recommend building with that CPU in general because it requires crazy amounts of cooling and power for very little or no performance boost over other options. But espcially I don't recommend it right now due to the performance issues popping up. See the video before this one on the channel for more we cover this in depth there. US taxes aren't just by state. Many times the county and municipality and sometimes even special subsections of the municipality all get to add their own sales tax. Yes it's that f'd up. Add in different categories of things having different tax rates at each of those levels and basically every point of sale system will have to programed with all taxes.
Couple of months. Thats not enough time js. .I've been into pc stuff for 10 months and omg i have learned crazy amount even tho i do not have one or play on one. I have built one for a friend. And dont worry jason lol. Ik what u r thinking.probably the best budget bule team. I got the rtx3060OC. I have seen read and researched a lot. Also u. Thank u, Jason for everything u have showed me on your channel.
Honestly I just love the genuine emotions of OMG NO NO NO, I understand the build would be a disaster! Thank you for helping, guiding us. Could not wait for new video! I am in process of buying rtx4080 pro from Asus and will look for CPU 7800x3D for my upcoming PC. never done one, never owned one. So will look through videos for other components. Need a PC for ASSETTO CORSA COMPETIZIONE (demanding on CPU) simracing title to work with Pimax Crystal Light VR. I understand one of easiest builds was project zero what was more expensive but less cables. My input is somebody said two best coolers are CROSAIR ICUELINK H150 LCD but expensive at £320, other equivalent is ARTIC LIQUID FREEZER3 ARGB1 for £77. not sure if it's for AMD though

That ASRock mobo in the $1000 build looks sexy! Always been loyal to Asus for my mobos but have to admit, the other manufacturers are making some compelling alternatives lately.
Idk about a fresh build with am4 in 2024. At low budgets, of under $700 is better to save to a couple hundred more. The best of am4 is in between a 7600x and 7700x, am5 is just gonna get better. Ddr4 has been phased out and won't be able to use it in a new platform upgrade. A 550W psu is very limiting, i have used 550w for clients, but i do warn them they will have to replace it if they do a significant upgrade in gpu. Also, be careful with the 3600x. Those used to die quite often. I'm not sure if the new one is any better, but it's just something to keep in mind.
Would love to know what you think about my pcpartpicker list. I did ask the forums on there about a budget build I could possibly build to play games on it of course. I took some parts from the different list and put one together from them. I still wanted to stick with the Aesthetics of a Pink case and white/black components. Im sticking with the cpu R5 7600 and the gpu ASRock RX 6600 and of course a B650m mobo....but anything else not to sure on what to get.
I wouldn't pair that strong a CPU with that weak a GPU personally for the same reasons we cover in the first build here. Check out our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video to learn about GPU bottlenecking and why that's such a performance problem.
Hi! Love your videos. Could you do a video on what to do if you buy a motherboard and CPU that are compatible, but the motherboard comes with an outdated bios that doesn't support the CPU. I know some motherboards you can flash with a button, but some more basic ones you have to enter bios flash. Thank you!
If you are building in the UK always check CEX for 2nd hand graphic cards which come with warranties. Built my kid a new PC in October and got a near as dammit new graphics card from cex. 😁
If you are doing anything AI or CUDA related (rendering, frame generations, AI pictures/videos, AI audio, anything AI), Nvidia is your only option. The next best option are the older RTX nvidia cards. Otherwise, Radeon cards are fine. But with a budget this low, I'd seriously consider used.
For the first post I'd recommend the MSI VDH pro wifi. You get the extra bandwidth of b550 and wifi for just $20 extra. Jason won't recommend it cause he's a hater of the Radio Shack special! ;)
Worrying if the GPU was used for mining is a silly myth perpetuated by the tech media. I had 6 of them going 24x7 for a couple of years, and every one was as good as new after I shut down the mining operation (when Etherium went PoS and there was no more profit in GPU mining). Gaming is a lot harder on it than mining.
Hey Jason! I've been watching your channel, and I think it's time to build my first pc. I would like to spend about 1400 bucks. Love your energy! This is one of the only channels I have the bell turned on. Two questions - I thought Adobe runs much better with intel(?) Also - I am looking to a best bang for the buck upgrade from my 3770k + 1070. What do you think of CanadaComputers' mobo+cpu bundles. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a 12700KF + MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI Motherboard + T-Force 32GB D5 6000MHz for about $370 USD + 15% tax. Thoughts on these bundles in general?
So glad you are enjoying! Adobe doesn’t have any preference for Intel over AMD. You might be thinking of Intel Quicksync which is on Intel CPUs without an F, that can increase render time a little. Bundles are usually good but for your goals this doesn’t sound like the best option as you might as well get a CPU with Quicksync if you are going Intel
I think that sparing money on PSU such as MSI MAG is a wrong choice. For just about just 16 GBP more you can get corsair rm650 with 7 year warranty instead of 3 year (MSI) and much better efficiency.

Jason, would you rather go for a used 6800xt for 400 euros or a brand new 7700xt for 415 euros? There's also a used 6800 non-xt for around 300-320 euros. I guess the answer is 7700xt (according to TechPowerUp 6800xt is about 15% more powerful than 7700xt) or AM4 platform (5600x/5700x) paired with 7800xt/7900 GRE, since for some crazy reason in local shops here in Serbia even non-xt 6800 is more expensive than 7900 GRE🤯
@@PCBuilderChannel Not really. Exclusively for gaming and some CAD modeling in Creo (ex Pro/Engineer), which is not a very graphically intensive program. I would like to play a bit with no code platforms like Bubble, Adalo, etc... I don't think gpu is important for that either, only RAM.
Status: my Silverstone Alta G1M arrived and was a blast to build in. Currently awaiting a replacement fan as the one that came with the case was pretty noisy due to some fault. The store rmaed with very few questions
Not that it matters too much but for the international audience, it’s not just each state that has different taxes; some counties and cities have their own income and sales taxes on top of the state and federal ones. So you might have federal state and local income taxes, federal and state and local gas taxes, excise taxes, etc. This is reason number one why we don’t have taxes included in price tags here :(
Bah, the first one, I really think going AM5 is fine. He's basically guaranteeing his upgrade path. Yeah, it's kinda overkill now and means he doesn't have budget for a decent motherboard but hey, he will still have 3yr warranty in that MSI mobo so even if it gives up that'd be okay, he can upgrade later to a better mobo, would be fine since he's spending so little on it now. And he could also afford a GPU upgrade without necessarily needing to upgrade his CPU. That would make a very nice setup later on altough I mostly agree with all your other points, especially on the PSU and Case.
Currently running a i7-10700k + 3080 10GB. Play in 3440x1440. Is is worth it to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 7800x3d but keep the 3080? Would i see a fps bump?
Yeah u would get a pretty impressive performance increase, according to technical city's benchmark it outperformed the 10700k by 82 percent. But the am5 boards are still pretty expensive, i would wait for the release of the new 800 series boards before getting a 600 series am5 board, also wait for ryzen 9000 so the price of ryzen 7000 will hopefully decrease.

It's fine for any system that never goes over 300w. It's the SmartCar of PSUs... if you only carry groceries in it, it works... start trying to tow a trailer and it blows up 😂
Hi Michael. It is F Tier rated because the protections on it don't reliably work in tested models. My recommendation is to replace it with the MSI A550BN for $49.
Hi Jason for a 3090 with a b650e aorus elite x ax ice motherboard, should i go with a r5 7600 or a r7 7800x3d. I mostly game competitive shooters. Like Apex Legends and Warzone. ATM i have a 27inch 240hz 1080p monitor. Thx for your help!
I paid a bit more for a 7800X3D and saved some money on the RAM cos you dont need fastest RAM for this CPU. Also I am rocking a Gammex AM3 cooler old thing and the CPU runs cooler so you dont need extra money for coolers and fans.
Hi, nice video, but I found issue on 650$ build with RX 7600xt. That motherboard you suggest is pci gen3 and gpu is pci gen4 with only 8x lines. So it will run only x8 lines on pci gen3 which will cause some performance loss. I was considering exact same budget build myself, but luckily found out this problem. Went with used nvidia 3070 for exact same price.
I actually just pinned a comment about this. At this budget level you would never notice a difference but that's why I also recommend the 3600 as an alternative
Got a 4090 with a 5800x3d and use a 4k 240hz monitor 90 percent of the time, then 1440p 240 hz monitor for fps games. Should I upgrade my cpu? Am I losing out on performance? Appreciate the content 👌.
Seeking advice, I currently have a 5800x3d paired with Hellhound 7800XT, DDR4 3600 Cl 14, EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2, Kraken X62, MEG X570 UNIFY. I play mostly cross platform games like Fortnite and Tiny Tiny Wonderland. If I sell only the 5800x3D, motherboard, Kraken X62 and Ram for $500 should I upgrade??????????? New Upgrade would be all new except used CPU, MSI X670E Gaming Plus WiFi , KLEVV RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 White,,,,,, and "used 7700x" for $550 total, is it worth the hassle or be content with what I have? I wouldn't, if you are craving an upgrade go ahead and upgrade your GPU. The 5800X3D can pair all the way to a 4090. See our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video for more
Correction: The first version of Asrock pro4 mobo also had the second m.2 slot. But the second slot is SATA only and is shared with sata3 port in both versions of this mobo.
Hey Jason I have a Ryzen 5 3600 with a GeForce 2060 etc. works for me. I primarily use my PC for gaming What's the best gaming cpu and GPU to upgrade to? I was thinking a Ryzen 9 7900x and like a Radeon 7800. What do you think?
The 7800X3D and the 7900GRE would be my choice, but since you're already on AM4 you can go 5700X3D or 5800X3D so you don't have to buy a new Motherboard and RAM.
Hey Jason! I'm in need of upgrade recomendation! I'm currently running a Ryzen 5600 cpu and a RX 6600 gpu. Would jumping up to the RX 7700 XT be a good idea or would it bottleneck my system? Thanks! Love your videos btw.
The issue is that the compromises to get on AM5 at $650 are just too much, including an 8GB GPU. Don't sacrifice your gaming for the next several years in hopes of the mythical future upgrade IMO.
Loving the content For my first pc I’m going with the tomahawk b650 Ryzen 7700x the 7800xt trident 6000 cl 30 2x16 m.2 acer predator 7000 with a case with 6 fans included Am I wrong for doing this ? Someone tell me plz 😅
Recommends a 5500 gen3 cpu for a 7600XT 8x gpu. 9:38 yes it was an alternate option but then he proceeded to recommend gen3 parts. 🙄 If you are building a B450 and 5500 with no desire for gen4 then you should shop for a 16x gpu like the 6700xt or 3060/3060ti. Also him pointing out the TWO m2 slots on that b450 board as if that is a good thing not mentioning again only gen3 support and only one of those m2 slots will hit the max gen3 speed. The 2nd one will be likely 2x so you will get max speed around 1500-2000 from it. I would recommend setting a better pc foundation with minimum 5600 and B550 for Gen4 support on GPU and at least 1 M2 drive. Then if he must get a 8x GPU like the current 7600XT he isn’t bandwidth limited with double performance hit of gen3 + 8x. If your client will want to have more than one full gen4 speed NVMe drive then x570 should be purchased. But unless you find a budget x570 you are getting close to entry level b650 and 7600 which would be my recommendation anyway. Don’t buy a gpu yet, save another few weeks after the main build is done. Use the on chip gpu for now. Wait another paycheck or two and buy gpu then.
You lose about 7% going Ryzen 5500 (pcie gen 3) with the 7600 XT at 1440p across a wide range of titles. But in many of those titles where you lose the most FPS, they have a similar slight CPU bottleneck with the i3 12100F. Going with the i5 12400F or Ryzen 5600 is out of our budget range. So to pick up that 7% we'd need to spend another $40. These are the types of compromises we often have to make at this budget level. That is why if you can find the Ryzen 3600, I'd grab that.
For someone that sets their budget I can understand why compromises must be used. However I still think it’s not a great use of their money when you factor in money spent over a period of time. Buying the wrong parts first and then better parts second will usually always be more total cost. My argument is it’s a very poor use of money and why poor stay poor because how they use their funds. The person on gen3 hardware will likely get less use from the system before they realize they should upgrade. Having someone build the main pc first like a 7600/b650/32gb on the budget side will give them a cheaper in the long run platform to use for more years. Wait 1 or 2 more paychecks and then buy a gpu. Starting from scratch with gen3 parts is just a bad longer term solution. Similar to people that go to check cashing spots just for faster cash end up with less money. Focus on budget yes but a pc base that will last longer. That extra money spent up front gains more years and more benefits like multiple full speed m2 slots. More slots also can be cheaper as you can lump on more cheap NVMe drives instead of focusing on replacing a 1tb for 2tb to add storage. There are many advantages to be gained by separating a build into two parts. And I’m not talking about slow build over 6 months I’m talking wait another 2-4weeks after initial build is done to buy gpu.
Hey Jason! Any thoughts on the RX 6800 Vs the 7700 XT? They are the same price here in Canada and I'm thinking of going with the RX 6800 as I've seen better benchmark performance with 1440p gaming.
Hey, Jason, great and very interesting video as always, could you do a video about bottleneck, from watching you, the main thing that stuck with me is that the Ryzen 5 5500 starts to bottleneck GPUs more powerful than the RX 6750 XT, but I don't know, like, what's the maximum GPU that I can pare with a Ryzen 5 5600 or with a ryzen 5 3600, the Ryzen 5 7600, the Intel Core i5 14600K etc, it would be extremely helpful! : )
What are your thoughts about this build? I'm looking for 1080p and to hold it for very long time 5+ years. Gigabyte B650M S2H, B650, AM5, DDR5 AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Nvidia GF RTX 4060 Ti, 16GB, MSI VENTUS 2X BLACK OC G.SKILL Flare X5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz 512GB, Gigabyte M30 (GP-GM30512G-G), NVMe, M.2 (2280) Seasonic G12 GC-750, 750W, Active PFC, 80 Plus Gold
It's good though you could save money by going AMD on the GPU with either the 7600XT or 6700XT/6750XT. I would also go with a 1TB of storage just to make sure you have plenty
@@kelley09162 I will reuse 2TB SSD from my old PC and on my first AMD GPU years ago my electricity bill gets very tall. That's why i look for nvidia. This will be my last PC and i don't think i'll upgrade it at all for the future.
@@martinmilchakov6179oh okay. The only mention AMD because I think the 7600XT has similar if not better Gaming performance vs the 4060 Ti 16GB for less. The 4060 Ti 16GB isn't bad though.

*Note: 1) RX 7600 XT is x8 GPU, & has a small 7% loss at 1440p using Ryzen 5500 Gen 3 CPU, which is why I suggested getting the Ryzen 3600 & B550 if available. 2) I refer to £1000 pound build as $1300, but it's really $1000 US because of the tax difference*
What are your PC plans or builds upcoming? Have a great build to share? Tell your story in a new comment below!
I like that the case says "Be cool" when there is 0% airflow ( 6:48 )
OMG I didn't clock that. That is truly ironic lol!

@@prestige934 it's a fair bit slower iirc since the 7600 is a newer core architecture

Fraudulent!
Frustrating!

Thought I was seeing things for a second. Like wait Jason hair is looking think as hell. Good for him
5:02 Mistake, that is not dual channel.

Lots of folks get confused around the DDR5 sticks for sure! So glad we could help (:

The Bitfenix is a steal of a case! I really enjoy building a pre-build to sell and it looks awesome.
4:40 ddr5 modules aren't really dual channel, but rather have a single channel with 2 32-bit wide sub channels
performance wise 1 stick of 4800 ddr5 is close to dual channel 2400 ddr4
Stuck between choosing the R5 3600 and 5500 for an X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming. Right now my specs are similiar to the suggested build: RX 6600, 2x8 gb 3200 Kingston Fury Beast and a funny R5 1600 AE version :))
After much dithering, I have settled on the 5500.
Either is a good choice!
I'd would go with the 5600 no questions ask. Hands down 5600 for mid gaming or 5700X3D mid-high on AM4.

@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks so much! Aslo our cats are obsessed when Waffles is on screen haha

Worrying if the GPU was used for mining is a silly myth perpetuated by the tech media. I had 6 of them going 24x7 for a couple of years, and every one was as good as new after I shut down the mining operation (when Etherium went PoS and there was no more profit in GPU mining).
I’d like to see recommended builds for specific cpu demanding games such as rust and squad
I think that sparing money on PSU such as MSI MAG is a wrong choice. For just about just 16 GBP more you can get corsair rm650 with 7 year warranty instead of 3 year (MSI) and much better efficiency.
Can rate mine? is it good enough? using it for 3d design and rendering (and gaming like valorant)

Depends if you want the AV1 encoding on the 7700XT or not
@@PCBuilderChannel Not really. Exclusively for gaming and some CAD modeling in Creo (ex Pro/Engineer), which is not a very graphically intensive program. I would like to play a bit with no code platforms like Bubble, Adalo, etc... I don't think gpu is important for that either, only RAM.
You could do b550, 5600x, 6650xt for under $650. Great upgrade path for cpu and gpu considering am4 will be supported for years to come

Not that it matters too much but for the international audience, it’s not just each state that has different taxes; some counties and cities have their own income and sales taxes on top of the state and federal ones.
So you might have federal state and local income taxes, federal and state and local gas taxes, excise taxes, etc.
This is reason number one why we don’t have taxes included in price tags here :(
Definitely get the 1TB SSD. Games add up quickly. Not worth being close on storage.
Superb video as always, sir!

That would make a very nice setup later on altough I mostly agree with all your other points, especially on the PSU and Case.

kinda sad there’s barely any 6000 series RX gpu’s left aside from the US, the 6800 non-xt is the goat of 1440p price-to-performance.

Hi Jason
Greetings from Denmark. Hope you and your's are well 😊
Hello and hello Denmark! Sure do appreciate it and best wishes to you and yours too.

Getting on AM5 is fine if he plans to upgrade in the future. A 5700XT for $200 and that case/psu are definitely no go’s though
The issue is that the compromises to get on AM5 at $650 are just too much, including an 8GB GPU. Don't sacrifice your gaming for the next several years in hopes of the mythical future upgrade IMO.

Am I wrong for doing this ? Someone tell me plz 😅
You're not wrong for doing it but unless you need the extra cores Jason says the 7700X isn't worth the extra money over the 7600/7600X.
Recommends a 5500 gen3 cpu for a 7600XT 8x gpu. 9:38 yes it was an alternate option but then he proceeded to recommend gen3 parts. 🙄
If you are building a B450 and 5500 with no desire for gen4 then you should shop for a 16x gpu like the 6700xt or 3060/3060ti.
I'm in the same boat and I'm leaning more towards 6800, 16GB Vram is just too tempting
If just Gaming 6800 is good because of the VRAM, but if also using it for Streaming the 7700XT is good because it has AV1 Encoding.
6800 has more VRAM but you get AV1 encoding on the 7700XT. So both strong really its up to your needs
