Im currently upgrading from almost a decade old setup (17-6700K,,Z170, 1070) and I'm going about my upgrade a little against the norm. I just had twin girls born in Nov so with that in mind and not trying to spend oodles I've been using prime days, sales and black friday to try and score components I've been keeping an eye on. What I have purchased so far- Case-Deepcool CH560 WH CPU-i5-13600KF Cooler-Deepcool LS720 SE WH SSD-Samsubg 990 Pro 2TB Ideas for parts- Gpu-3060TI or 4060TI RAM-Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 WH Mobo-Gigabyte z790 Aorus Elite ICE PSU-Corsair RM850 Gold You see my theme and I mainly game but do stream and need a computer that can handle Large work files as well for my company. I'm not pumping the money into the GPU/CPU at the moment but instead "future proofing" (not really) the base of everything if/when the time comes to upgrade this when I have time and money to do soI don't need to replace it all. I would rather be productive now and competetive later when I get the chance to game more often again.
hey Jason I'm tryin to build a all white pc setup I have a NXT h5 flow white pc case I want to be able to run fortnite at 360hz or 240hz and call of duty at 120hz or 240hz if you can give me some different budget options my budget is 2000$ US I don't know anything about computers if it has to go up to closer to 3000$ that's ok I'm just seeing what I can offaurd at 2000$ in all white also its ok if the motherboard is black
You got me there lol. I decided it would make more sense to officially start season 4 in 2024, but we put out the S3 finale earlier this month so ... consider this bonus season 3 content! (;
@@PCBuilderChannelYou know it wouldn't hurt if there's more before New year. You'll helping lots of people by posting this. And it's certainly entertaining for me 😂
I have just built a PC almost identical to the first build here. I used MSY, PLE, PC Case Gear, Scorptec for the parts. They are all good stores in my experience. Very similar stock and prices. Historically Australian retailers are very uncompetitive pricewise in comparison to US and UK online retailers but PC parts stores have always been an honourable exception.
Don’t forget Umart and JWComputers as well as you can often find some really good flash sales or clearance items (open box / ex-demo stock etc) as well.
22:05 Honestly I’m not sure that RAM is the best choice, given that I experienced issues while using an Intel XMP kit with my 7800X3D. I would strongly recommend getting an AMD Expo kit listed on the motherboards Qualified Vendor List. This way you can be absolutely sure that the RAM will work as intended and your system won’t have issues posting.
For the "no budget" build, I would suggest a few changes. The Case, Montech 903 Air Max white. It's generally considered a great case to build in. If the AIO has a display the case doesn't need it. With the 7800x3D would recommend the 280mm version AIO. Currently it's ~$60 cheaper and with the lager fans potentially quieter. Would probably splurge on 3 4td SN850X drives for the better R/W iops. - also been eyeing the Mushkin Redline 6400 C30 64Gb kit for $215.
@@corycosta6257 multiple QVLs list 6600 memory. Have seen videos of running over 7000 but it has to be decoupled. some games really want bandwidth. some games want low latency. depends on what you play. just havent found any specfic account of using the mushkin kit. I used mushkin DDR3 and 4 was never disappointed.
Cool to see an aussie build featured on the channel. Ive just recently gotten into the computer building stage and your videos have been simply incredible. Well formatted and easy to watch, you've covered a wide range of useful topics, you time stamp(i love you). Best of all you interact with your community. Truly the goat of pc building🙏
Just done my first pc: 7900x(325€),tuf 7800xt,(600€),tuf b650plus wifi(190€), 32gb Corsair ddr5 6000mhz(140€),crucial mp5 500gb(70€), crucial 2tb mp3(130) ,delta 1300w(100€), be quiet silent base500 window(50€). More or less
I decided on the Thermaltake coolers over my Vetroo V5 as it's overkill for my computer...but not if my CPU was 95W or higher...plus the fans can't be powered down... Plus it takes 32W less power on the average...
16:12 Hi, I am guessing he was going for RAID on some of those drives. If he was keen on doing it I would recommend to get a mobo that has 4 slots 1 for boot and 3 others for RAID. *Especially games nowadays need to load game shaders which needs to load from storage.
As someone who bought the Fractal Pop. I specifically went for it for the Optical Drive bay. There are similar looking case, some even better looking. Some have better IO panel, like C included. But this have OD that can be hidden. There's a nice Antec too, a single ODD, but it was out when I was looking for cases. Antec Dark Phantom DP502 FLUX
As far as the Australian market goes, I would liken pc case gear to microcentre (it’s THAT good) and I have bought 90% of my pc parts from there due to the very competitive prices. They do charge a good bit for shipping. Scorptec is pretty good (so I have heard) and jbhifi is usually pretty good for non-internal pc parts (monitors, cables, headphones ect)
Pc case gear, scorptec and mwave are pretty good online stores with competitive pricing. Umart unfortunately isn't the most reliable from my experience, especially when you purchase hardware, make sure you read through the specifications carefully, as you may end up getting something of a different spec. Although they were prompted with store credit or refund when pointed out
PC Case is ok but their prices are not cheaper then the majority of Australian online retailers( I would hardly compare them to microcentre). I prefer Umart (never had an issue and always got what I paid for) Mostly due to the fact they have a local distribution center where I can pick up and drop of parts locally direct. The biggest issue with buying parts like this from multiple retailers is the compound shipping fees...But no 1 retailer offers every brand and manufacturer. Yes we do have Amazon and Newegg, but I am not sure if Australian consumer laws cover their products...
Toughpower GF3 1200W Gold has only 4 CPU/PCI-E outputs. But 7900 XTX needs 3 inputs and CPU needs 2 inputs on motherboard. So, its better to choose a PSU with 5+ PCI outputs. I has the same problem and returned the PSU with 4 PCI-E outputs.
Best (in most games) gaming cpu paired with best amd gpu, ofc it’s a great pairing ; D I recommend getting the sapphire nitro+ model, if that’s just far too expensive compared to other models where you are get the xfx merc model Mainly just avoid all the gigabyte models, the msi gaming model, and the asrock phantom gaming model (taichi is fine to get) Yes that cooler is far more than enough, you can run the 7800x3d for gaming with just an amd wraith prism cooler and it won’t throttle (it’ll be loud tho lmao) The 7800x3d is probably the easiest cpu to cool in the whole 7000 series lineup outside of the 7500f, so any upgrade from a wraith prism is far more than enough for gaming If you need help with anything else reply back
@@ItzSamyam oh I wasn’t even talking about the nitro+ for the rgb, the cooler design is amazing and pcb layout and components are very high quality then there’s the fact it also looks great! Just don’t forget to get a support brace for it, the included one only screws into the case and I don’t like those as much for overall support, but a gpu support brace is like 10 bucks or less and is needed on any 3 fan card or 2.5+ slot card
The X3d 5800 and 7800 also run AC and ACC better than the normal 5000 and 7000 series likely since these games are essentially simulations so the L3 cache algorithms will pickup on redundant data... However 7600 will be a great processor and a good platform to build on for future upgrades.
I would go 5800x3d and a 6800xt or 6700xt for that price. Better balance of performance. You'll be running a better b550m board and cheaper DDR4 with room to buy a Samsung 980 or even 990pro drive. Go Peerless Spirit for aircooler
Nah, for a new build I wouldnt recomment AM4. The 7600 has a similar performance for less money and DDR5 RAM isnt expensive anymore. I love my 5800x3D and I hope the huge L3 cache will keep boosting it in the future, but for new builds there is no downside anymore by going for AM5. Its funny that the 6800XT sometimes is even stronger than the 7800XT since its "technically" stronger in terms of hardware alone. Defo a viable alternative.
As an experienced PC builder in Sydney Australia (been building for approx 10 years, have built 50+ gaming PCs for myself, friends and family) I would say most of the big PC retailers are all ok and I haven't really had any issues with any of them. I have used Centre Com, JW, MSY, Mwave, PCCaseGear, PLE, Scorptec and Umart and all of them are pretty similar in terms of stock range and pricing. Living in Sydney there is no PCCaseGear physical location near me so I usually go to one of the others as I won't have to pay for shipping, but that's not their fault
Mr Builder I just bought 32GB of Crucial DDR5 CL46 5600 MT/s RAM for $72. Do you think this has good price to performance or was it not worth the discount? I plan for the build to run with a 5-7600 CPU and 7800XT for 1440P Gaming. Thanks!
For a cheap but really good air-cooler I cannot recommend the thermalright peerless assassin enough iirc it's got an updated ver in the assassin spirit but since they both hang around the 30-40 dollar range they are no Brainers for air cooled systems especially when they're trading blows with the NH-15
I thought about holding off buying a 4090 until holiday sales, so glad I decided to buy it during tax return season instead, prices were around its lowest, over $500 cheaper and available compared to now. Then came the am5 x670e, 7800x3d and vengance ddr5 6000 cl30 kit. Was nice to finally not have to settle for a budget build.
@MrAnimescrazy I usually do budget builds so I already had a budget build pc that was near its upgrade limit, but I am a nut for great visuals, 4k max settings, raytracing, no upscaling, and some video editing, so needed better hardware to get decent fps. Already having a decent pc allowed me to save up over time to get the parts I really wanted this time, and I had someone ready to buy my budget parts, so I recouped some of the cost as well.
Hey I wanna thank you for your videos, I used a lot of your tips for picking out parts for my pc. All I'm missing now are the PSU and a monitor. Currently looking at the XPG Core Reactor 850w (for a Ryzen 5 7600 and 7800XT) and an LG 34GP63A-B 1440p 34'' Ultrawide.
Yeah, I've built my first PC last week (altho the build has been 2months in the making) and i also went with the Sapphire Pulse 7800XT. Absolutely love this card and at 1440p I can run everything max max and still get close to 200fps. This last week I couldn't wait to get off work to have fun with this bad boy. :D
@PROBLEMASAQUI exactly 💯. I forgot to mention I got the Red Devil one. They tried to warn me about fan whine but the ppl I've seen with that noise don't have big enough psu's. I always go over with my psu and not just PC's. I used to build competition sound systems and you if your math is wrong you will start a fire. The fans in the gpu barely run prob because I have 8 fans, 4 in 4 out I'm guessing
@@Nocturnal2010yes a large reason for coil whine is having incompetent PSUs. People just like to blame the card. I also purchased a 7800 XT but the main reason I didn’t picked the power color ones is because it only has 1 HDMI port and I really wanted multiple.
My local Microcenter has some crazy motherboard/CPU/RAM combo deals... You can get a 14900k with a z790 board and 6000/30 ram for 700 USD,,,, a similar 7800x3d combo for 500 usd
Hey Jason, can you please recommend a good GPU for 1440p ~100 FPS for an eGPU setup over TB4? I will be using an external monitor. Want a solution for 3D work and games while im at work. PLEEEEEASE!
Many thanks sir, I just successfully built my first PC in 7 years. Mostly based off of information gathered from your channel. Blew a whole ton o money, but what the hey. At least I was well informed. Carry on the good work!

As far as our Aussie mate goes, I built a 7600 non X, higher spec MSI Motherboard, and CL38 6000 Speed Ram, with an similar PCIe 4.0 NVME. Was Au$150 less than using Amazon by using one of our bigger brick and mortar PC retailers. For those 4 items I paid under $740 (got the ram and the nvme at a great price) and those are costing you over $900. That's easily enough to take that 7700XT into 7800XT territory. You'll get 7600X performance with PBO activated, and now you have the 7500F as a cheaper option for basically the same performance... if you can find one. Reality is that Amazon and NewEgg are usually really poor value in Australia. But otherwise the choices are pretty solid.
the Ryzen 7 7800X3d b650-a motherboard rog strix 32 DDR5 for the ram i put in a RX 7900 xt instead with a 2TB Samsung ssd 1000W PSU with a ATX Midtower case
Excuse me Jason, if I don't mind used gpu, should I buy a used 3080 10gb. I'm expecting it to last 3-5 years (college) and I want to only build 1 PC if possible and not constantly upgrade. Radeon cards are inconsistent with price where I live (malaysia)
Hi Jason, came across the channel this week and have found the videos very informative! I’m hoping to build a PC for the first time next year and have been looking at parts. Where would I submit a build for review? Thanks and keep up the great work!
You can go to the community section of the channel and watch out for a post from Jason where he will announce the next boost my build. You can post your build under that post.
Been wanting to upgrade from a 1070 TI for a bit now. Given the dumb 40 series prices should I get a 7900XT now or wait and see what the 4070 TI Super is like in January?
Rumours keep changing If the 4070ti super is actually a cut down 4080 die with 16gb of memory and 256bit bus it’s probably worth for most who don’t want to deal with “potential” issues that you may have with an amd gpu That being said the price of 7900xt will also drop most likely in January so just wait and see ( ;
Hey Jason, I love these series its amazing what you can do with these parts list!! I have a question about which GPU I should get for my build I've got 5600x and 1080tii but I want to upgrade the GPU to either the 7800xt or the 4070ti. I mainly play COD warzone and Rust and I've been trying to figure out if the price jump is worth getting the 4070ti (roughly $300AUD difference here in Australia) as there isn't many benchmarks comparing these 2 GPU's. Any help would be amazing!!
I would religiously avoid the 4070TI. It has such horrible value for the price and only 12GB VRAM. COD has always been better on AMD GPUs and if u wanna play AAA titles in the future Id go for 16GB VRAM with the 7800XT ooooor if u (for some reason) totally insist on nvidia, I would wait for the 4070TI super (probably 16GB, launch at january 2024?) and get that card if the price is not too high.
Very interesting episode Jason, thanks. I am from New Zealand where computer prices are even more expensive than Aussie parts, and we really only have one large nationwide computer store chain. I only play one game, Ark Survival Ascended, and my 3060Ti 8GB GPU is failing miserably. The game is in early access, and I am lamenting/hand wringing over which GPU to purchase to run this game at med/high settings. It seems that even the 4090 struggles with epic settings, though optimisation is being almost tweaked daily. The game supports frame generation and is recommended, so I assume that AMD cards are out of the equation. I am leaning toward the 4070Ti which are around $1500NZ ($930US) for a cheaper GPU (a lot of money to spend on one game - but I am a hardcore enthusiast). Not sure if you know anything about this demanding new UE5 game release as I see conflicting information on how best to pair up a GPU. Really appreciate if you or your audience have any advice. Many thanks in advance for any advice or pearls of wisdom :)
I don’t have firsthand experience with this game so take this with a grain of salt, but from what I’ve read AMD cards seem to do fine. Radeon has frame generation tech so that shouldn’t be a concern, although ray tracing might be an issue if that is something you want. A 4070Ti would definitely boost your performance, but if you can find a 7900xt for around the same price it’ll probably get you slightly better performance. Hope this helps!
@@OmniscientFence07 thanks for your reply. I keep hearing about 'baked in' code with respect to different games, with certain graphical settings being controlled by the games overriding GeForce settings etc. I believe that Ark has being primarily designed to utilise NVidia, and favours this game hardware, but then I have nothing to compare against, but for $1500NZ (which is a lot of money for me) I just don't want to miss out on what the game has to offer. Genuinely nervous to make a decision that I might regret. The game has both Nanite and Lumen tech, so not sure if both are fully supported, or if there is something else around the corner to wait for.
@@KiwiZD I understand getting nervous about it, it’s a lot of money for sure. I know Lumen favors Nvidia and I think you’d probably be happy with the performance of the 4070ti, but it could also be worth waiting a few months for the Super cards to drop if you really want to make sure you get the most bang for your buck.
@@OmniscientFence07 I had already considered that, hoping that maybe the prices for 4070Ti might come down a bit, or that I might be able to settle for the plain 4070 as this would save me nearly $500 - have a 650W PSU, so would have to upgrade this too if I go 4070Ti. If the 4070 will suffice then I think this is a good option.... but I just don't know if it is enough. I think I just have to be patient, and hope someone trustworthy can do a deep dive into this beautiful (frustrating) silicon hog of a game! Thanks so much for your comments :)
Hi, I would like to build myself a gaming Pc and I kind of have the list of components , am4 ryzen 5700x , gigabyte b550m aorus elite , seasonic g12 850w gold psu, a noctua Nh-D9L , corsair 16gb ddr4 3600 mhz , adata 1tb legend 800 and I was thinking of an 6750xt or 6800 rtx but not sure if it's enough for 1440p gaming too. Would you recommend another gpu? Or the processor will bottleneck the gpu if it's going any higher? Thanks

Hi. Great video. I'm also thinking about upgrading my PC. Probably I'll get a RX 6700 XT although NVIDIA DLSS sounds nice. I can get used RX 6700 XT with warranty but I can't decide which one is better. Which one would you guys choose RX 6700 XT Sapphire Nitro+ for around 280 USD or XFX Speedster MERC 319 RX 6700 XT for around 270 USD. Also I would be upgrading my Ryzen 5 2600 to Ryzen 5 5600 without the change of my B450 Aorus Elite. What RAM should I choose? For now I use 16GB Cl 15 3000 Mhz but it seems like my motherboard limits RAM to 2933 mhz.
Thanks! Your RAM is fine at 3000 CL15, roughly equivalent to 3200 CL16. It's likely the Ryzen 2600 that is your limitation, not the motherboard. Could go 2x8gb DDR4 3600 CL16 with the 5600, just make sure to update the bios before you remove your CPU. IMO, for only a little bit more, I'd grab a brand new sapphire pulse RTX 6700 XT 12GB for $319, but the nitro is the better of those cards.
Hey Jason, just built my first PC thanks to your channel! I have a quick question regarding the RAM that I chose as I'm worried it's going to impact my performance. My build is an Radeon 7900 XT paired with the Ryzen 7 78003xd and for the RAM I purchased the CMK32GX5M2D6000C36. I noticed that it's an older model(May 2022), says it's for Intel, and the Memory clock speed says 1785 on Amazon. Should I try to exchange for better RAM or will this be fine? Thanks!
Hey jason! i have a really good question. i recently found a really good deal on a 4070ti in my country (Greece) where i can pay a montly payment with a 0% interest over 12 months. the problem is tho, i have a 3060ti with a 5600x and i have no idea if the 5600x is going to bottleneck the new 4070ti. keep in mind i only play warzone 3.0 and BTD6. warzone is a very GPU heavy game but still i dont know if its a good idea to upgrade (only my GPU) because of how much the 5600x will bottleneck the 4070ti. what are your thoughts? will my 5600x bottleneck the 4070ti? (i really dont want to upgrade the whole platform right now so i would like your views on this!)
Hello! To eliminate the bottleneck but staying on AM4 I'd drop in a 5800X3D if you can. That will free you up to upgrade all the way to a 4090 (if you wanted to and could find one lol). But it certainly will do great with 4070ti.
@@PCBuilderChannel thanks! so it seems the bottleneck will be there, but unfortunately i would need a new psu unit for the 5800X3D + 4070ti as i currently have a 650W corsair unit and i dont think that would be enough. in all seriousness i dont think i will upgrade just yet because i would have to upgrade the cpu and the psu which at the moment seems a bit too much for me but thank you jason! maybe next year when the 50series graphics cards arrive!
Hey pc builder . In my cart I have a ryzen 5 7600 with a power Color fighter RX 6700 Xt. I also have a 32GB 5600mhz DDR5 Cl30 with a 2t SSD. what do you think about this? And should I get these parts? Thank you so much for being who you are, you’ve helped me so much ❤️.

My builds were ryzen 5 5600 with colorful battle ax rtx 3060 ti gpu, 3333mhz aorus ram(i regret buying that ram, the only good thing is i got a lifetime warranty) asus tuf case(got heavy discount) but my motherboard is old b450 aorus pro(which i used for athlon 3000g before upgrading to ryzen 5, but planning to upgrade to b550 board), asus tuf 550 psu (psu watt not enough for my build, i just planned to buy rtx 3060 but got rtx 3060 ti bcuz i got it at good price, and also will upgrade my psu to 650/750 later) ssd was wd blue 500gb(which is the cheapest at that time).
Do you happen to know how amd performs in vr? I have heard that they had some driver issues that they maybe have fixed. I cant find any reliable info on it. Specifically looking at the 7900xt.
VR isn't my area of expertise but from what I understand it does great. In general I always recommend updating to the latest bios after you build to avoid any issues
@@PCBuilderChannel Yeah of course. Btw is there a way to mount an am5 cpu aircooler rotated by 90 degrees? I would imagine there would be some special brackets to do it, but I havent come across any.
I have a question if you see this Mr. Jason or anyone else in this comment section that sees this. What CPU would you recommend for a RX 6750XT for there not to be a noticeable bottleneck in gaming? I'm currently running an R5 3600 with the 6750XT and i was wanting to stick with the AM4 platform, so i was looking at a 5800x3D but I'm still not 100% sure how that would perform for gaming together. Thanks for any and all help/advice my friends!
Wanted to ask I have a 10400f cpu that is brand new was gonna do a budget build but by buddy is wanting to buy it and was wondering wat would be a good build he could do for maximum performance? He likes to mod and play mostly GTA and Skyrim some fps games
@@buddykilgore3859 ok for the gpu he can get the 7800xt on the amd side or a nvidia rtx 4070. I just finished watching the hardware unboxed video comparing the 2 cards and the 7800xt performs better at the native resolution and the nvidia card performs better at ray tracing but not by much. You also have to take into account dlss 3 and fsr3. Dlss 3 is here and more stable while fsr3 is on the rise but still needs to get the kinks out.
Hi Jason, I am thinking of waiting for GPU prices to go down once the supers come in later January, I watched your videos on if its a good idea to buy now or wait, seems there is not a whole lot of stock right now. I don't mind waiting for a better deal. what are your thoughts?
Completely depends on the GPU you want. If you want high end Nvidia I'd wait. If you want 1440p gaming with a 6700XT, 6800 etc I wouldn't wait as those are likely to completely sell out over the holidays.
I like the cooling solution in the first build. The water cooler is most likely a design choice and thats totally understandable, but since its a limited budget and the 7600 only needs 65W to cool, I would bite the design bullet and go for a waaaay cheaper air cooler and upgrade the GPU instead (as shown). But its still nice that Jason left the option open. It can be really nice to have an awesome looking pc, but to be realistic, at some point its not super duper mega exciting anymore after u look at it every day :) So with a limited budget I would totally prefer performance over looks 😏 (ooor save for a little bit longer and step up on the CPU too, so the AIO is "justified", maybe the 7700X or something).
After 2 years, I still love looking at my computer build :) Nothing fancy, all white, in an air cooled EVO case. Mostly run a Patriotic red/white/blue color theme or all white theme with the led's.
@@2hotscot Uhh sounds nice..Personally, I would prefer still being able to look at my games after a while over looking at my case. So even in this case I prefer inner qualities over looks 😉
@@Greenalex89I don't obsessively look at my case constantly like you must have done originally I guess. And it sounds like you are still being coerced into looking at the case against your will if you are having a hard time "preferring" to look at your game more than the case. And "inner qualities" is part of the looks unless you have an old school solid metal case. I would suggest that type of case if you don't care about looks. Sorta like putting a paper bag over the head of a moped so as not to see how she looks. 😜🤣
Hey jason , I should’ve had you look at my bill. I pretty much went all MSI. 7800 X 3-D X 670 E tomahawk. But I really screwed up and bought a MSI 4060 TI gaming X. What should I replace that with help. G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 I did a black be quiet cooling tower. Would like a white suggestion and I did the MSI 850 power supply Thank you.
I honestly don't know why anyone would need a daily use gaming/streaming PC where a 1000W PSU isn't enough. It just doesn't compute. To me, that's like taking the helicopter to go to work when you live 2 blocks away from your workplace. But then again, that's just me, who's not quite poor, but not someone who can afford to throw stacks of money at problems. I guess if you have money to toss away... a PC that eats enough power to require a 1200W PSU for daily usage is... understandable? Just the electricity bill at the end of the month would make me wince and ask myself if I'm mining crypto. I got myself a 13600k + 4070 to undervolt both of them, gaming at 1440p with ultra settings on everything like cyberpunk and this stuff runs without a single performance issue, while keeping wattage and temps low. My PSU has yet to register a power draw above 500W during GPU+CPU spikes, and I do have an RM1000e PSU that I got for 50% off, too. And now that I've re-read my whole comment, these are definitely the words of a poor person who's concerned about his electricity bill because that crap is goddamn expensive here - like, premium lvl expensive. I'll leave you guys to your 1200W build 😅
That 1200W build would be just fine with a 850W PSU. Recomended PSU for rx7900xtx is 800-1000W. And that is with intel and overclocking in mind. To say a 1200W PSU is NEEDED here is bullcrap. the 7800x3d only pulls about 80W in cinebench R23. A 7900xtx about 350W. Motherboard and 1 tonn of SSD's do not pull 600W ish :)
Hi man, I've recently discovered your YT channel and it's lit! I've a question tho. Ive build a PC myself, with an Intel Core i7-12700K CPU Boxed and a motherboard from ASUS ROG STRIX B760-A GAMING. My question towards you is, what GPU would have been the most suitable in the range from 300-450$/€ Ive seen in your videos you seem to enjoy the RXs but does this work with Intel as well? Would be nice if you let me know. Have a nice one!
AMD and Nvidia GPUs will both work great. With 12700K the max I would pair is 7800XT or 4070. Sweet spot might be 6700XT. But those are selling through so I would jump on it asap
It’s easy to see why and priced the 7700xt the way they did. To push people to the 7800xt. There’s probably some type of margin advantage to the 78 over the 77 that they’re exploiting.
Hey, I have a friend who wants to get into pc gaming. But has a budget of around 1100-1600 cad. I’m not sure if he’ll be wanting 1080p gaming or 1440p gaming. Do you have a recommendation for GPU-wise? I was looking at RX 6750 XT (Mech) for 519.99 cad on Amazon. Or RX 6700 XT (AsRock) for 449.99 on NewEgg (CA). Both are for 1440p gaming.
Those are great options! And if you are looking at those cards I wouldn't wait to long. They are likely to sell through and go up in price. If they want 1080p with an option for 1440p I'd go 6700XT asap
do u know what I would love a video on ... nvme/m.2 3d nand cache vs "dram" (?) cache (if i didn't get those spellings correct sorry i cant spell or read very well with s why i watch RUclips lol) also there is very little information in the 2 types of memory cache controllers. its would be good to know the differences. with rising price of m.2 SSD's is it worth the extra for 3d nand cache if i am only mainly gaming ?
I got very lucky. Pounced on a great deal for an RX 6800. Best Buy has it for $389. But my mom had a $50 and $5 dollar coupon. I got it for the price of a 6700xt/6750xt. It's going to lair with 12600kf. Excited for it to arrive.
I have a radeon rx6800 xt. And I have huge issues with it. If I turn on my pc and start gaming, after like 10-30 mins my gpu just shuts down, video freezes and I have to restart. I already tried older driver, didn’t do anything. Does some have a device?
For troubleshooting I recommend posting to reddit "build a pc troubleshooting forum" but I would also check your warranty and reach out to your retailer. You shouldn’t be having these issues.
Help me out. Looking for the next upgrade path for my PC. I have.... Intel i5 10600kf. Lga 1200 socket. AsRock phantom gaming 4 mobo. Crucial nvme ssd 1tb. Sata ssd 1tb. Asus rx6700xt graphics card. 2 sticks ddr4 16gb 3200mhz for 32gb Total. 750w psu. At some point in the next 3 to 6 months id like to upgrade mobo, ram, and CPU. The tenth gen intel does great for what it is and is quite balanced performance with the 6700xt. I can use rebar thanks to some bios upgrades to intel 10th gen. Wondering if changing to a new cpu socket, ddr5 and pciex4 would give performance worthy of the upgrade? I play COD and do 3d modelling in sketchup primarily. Would even consider am5. I typically like to not be an early adopter of new tech, i usually wait till the Bugs are worked out and prices come down. I think the time is approaching that ddr5 and a new cpu socket is justified. Your thoughts? Budget of 1000AU dollars for the upgrades.
I wonder if its possible to have a $2500 sff build most bang for the buck for the year end lol been saving for years now and I think im gonna be able to buy it earlier this year!!

Does anyone have tips for high temps on Rx 6700xt sapphire pulse? Just recently built my first computer and I can’t figure out why the GPU temps are so high, cpu temps are well within expected parameters but it seems no matter what I do with fan speeds and such, my gpu temps go in the 80s(degrees Celsius) and that is at the edge so I imagine the hotspot isn’t good either. Based from what I can tell, the airflow is good(montech 903 max with 3 intake and 1 exhaust, mesh front and top panels) , and everything looks to be operating normally but it is my first PC build ever so if anyone has ideas on what I could’ve missed,I would appreciate it.

I SEE 7700XT AT 450 AND BELOW EVERYWHERE, WHY DOES THAT SAY 700+???
DUH AUS... SORRY
What I have purchased so far-
Case-Deepcool CH560 WH
CPU-i5-13600KF
Cooler-Deepcool LS720 SE WH
SSD-Samsubg 990 Pro 2TB
Ideas for parts-
Gpu-3060TI or 4060TI

Mobo-Gigabyte z790 Aorus Elite ICE
PSU-Corsair RM850 Gold
You see my theme and I mainly game but do stream and need a computer that can handle Large work files as well for my company.
Season 3 will literally never die
You got me there lol. I decided it would make more sense to officially start season 4 in 2024, but we put out the S3 finale earlier this month so ... consider this bonus season 3 content! (;

Amazing, congrats on the build! And thanks so much for watching! :D
Don’t forget Umart and JWComputers as well as you can often find some really good flash sales or clearance items (open box / ex-demo stock etc) as well.
That first build could omit the AIO in favor of a Thermalright Assassin 120 for a fraction of the price and just as good cooling.
I have the same cooler, I am shocked about how good it is for how little it costs.
@@josh2482 I run one with my R7-5800x3D/ARC A770 combo.
Thing cools like a Banchi...never exceeds 67 degrees.
100% this - go with flare x5 its a nobrainer
I'm not even sort of in the market for a computer and I still watch every one of these bad boys. Jason and Mr Bear are absolutely goated.
We sure appreciate it! Hope you keep enjoying the content (:
Just finished up my first ever PC build thanks to all of your helpful vids
Thats so cool!
Love to hear it! Congrats on your first build! :))
What are your specs?
For the "no budget" build, I would suggest a few changes. The Case, Montech 903 Air Max white. It's generally considered a great case to build in. If the AIO has a display the case doesn't need it. With the 7800x3D would recommend the 280mm version AIO. Currently it's ~$60 cheaper and with the lager fans potentially quieter. Would probably splurge on 3 4td SN850X drives for the better R/W iops.
- also been eyeing the Mushkin Redline 6400 C30 64Gb kit for $215.
I’ve heard AM5 still isn’t workin right beyond 6000cl30

Would have liked to seen a X3D jn the first build seeing that ACC benefits immensely from the 3D v-cache
What is ACC?
Edit: oh you were referring to the game he wanted to play. Nevermind!
I decided on the Thermaltake coolers over my Vetroo V5 as it's overkill for my computer...but not if my CPU was 95W or higher...plus the fans can't be powered down... Plus it takes 32W less power on the average...
I use the 7900 XTX Taichi. I really enjoy everything about the GPU from looks to performance.
Thank you for sharing! Appreciate it
i use mainly uMart online, pc case gear are also good
Pc case gear, scorptec and mwave are pretty good online stores with competitive pricing.
@@trcs3079 I have always been suspicious of umart, never bought from them
Toughpower GF3 1200W Gold has only 4 CPU/PCI-E outputs. But 7900 XTX needs 3 inputs and CPU needs 2 inputs on motherboard. So, its better to choose a PSU with 5+ PCI outputs. I has the same problem and returned the PSU with 4 PCI-E outputs.
It didn't come with any PCI-E cables with two plugs? 2 cables to the PSU will be absolutely fine on a decent PSU.
Thoughts about the 7800x3d paired with an rx 7900xtx? Also is the Corsair h150i elite capellix a good cooler for the 7800x3d?
Best (in most games) gaming cpu paired with best amd gpu, ofc it’s a great pairing ; D
I recommend getting the sapphire nitro+ model, if that’s just far too expensive compared to other models where you are get the xfx merc model
Mainly just avoid all the gigabyte models, the msi gaming model, and the asrock phantom gaming model (taichi is fine to get)
Yes that cooler is far more than enough, you can run the 7800x3d for gaming with just an amd wraith prism cooler and it won’t throttle (it’ll be loud tho lmao)
The 7800x3d is probably the easiest cpu to cool in the whole 7000 series lineup outside of the 7500f, so any upgrade from a wraith prism is far more than enough for gaming
If you need help with anything else reply back
@@luvingyouu thanks a bunch m8, and yes, the sapphire nitro+ does have some cool rgb
@@ItzSamyam oh I wasn’t even talking about the nitro+ for the rgb, the cooler design is amazing and pcb layout and components are very high quality

Just don’t forget to get a support brace for it, the included one only screws into the case and I don’t like those as much for overall support, but a gpu support brace is like 10 bucks or less and is needed on any 3 fan card or 2.5+ slot card
Great combo! See our 7800X3D build guide for more
Yeah prices here in Australia are rough. Am5 motherboards are worth just as much as a cpu
An alternative case would be the Antec NX200M. It's a budget but surprisingly good case for it's price. Loved building in it for a friend.

A very high end build. Why did you go high end instead of a budget build?
@MrAnimescrazy I usually do budget builds so I already had a budget build pc that was near its upgrade limit, but I am a nut for great visuals, 4k max settings, raytracing, no upscaling, and some video editing, so needed better hardware to get decent fps. Already having a decent pc allowed me to save up over time to get the parts I really wanted this time, and I had someone ready to buy my budget parts, so I recouped some of the cost as well.
Glad you got what you needed!

@PROBLEMASAQUI exactly 💯. I forgot to mention I got the Red Devil one. They tried to warn me about fan whine but the ppl I've seen with that noise don't have big enough psu's. @@Nocturnal2010yes a large reason for coil whine is having incompetent PSUs. People just like to blame the card. I also purchased a 7800 XT but the main reason I didn’t picked the power color ones is because it only has 1 HDMI port and I really wanted multiple.

Been wanting to upgrade from a 1070 TI for a bit now. Given the dumb 40 series prices should I get a 7900XT now or wait and see what the 4070 TI Super is like in January?
Rumours keep changing
If the 4070ti super is actually a cut down 4080 die with 16gb of memory and 256bit bus it’s probably worth for most who don’t want to deal with “potential” issues that you may have with an amd gpu
That being said the price of 7900xt will also drop most likely in January so just wait and see ( ;
Yeah jist wait and see unless if you need to upgrade now.
I probably wait in your case
Hey Jason, I love these series its amazing what you can do with these parts list!! I have a question about which GPU I should get for my build I've got 5600x and 1080tii but I want to upgrade the GPU to either the 7800xt or the 4070ti. I mainly play COD warzone and Rust and I've been trying to figure out if the price jump is worth getting the 4070ti (roughly $300AUD difference here in Australia) as there isn't many benchmarks comparing these 2 GPU's. Any help would be amazing!!
For Gaming the 7800XT is good. Plus I think you'd have an imbalance if you went with the 4070 Ti.
Max Id pair with 5600 is 7800XT or 4070.
@@KiwiZD sure thing! Good luck and I hope you’re able to find a card you’re happy with!
Thanks

What’s going on with the 7800xt cards. Prices seem to be going up.
Selling extremely well so merchants and AIBs are upping the price while demand is high.
@@PCBuilderChannel yeah, doesn’t help as I finish purchasing my parts for my build.
Thank you so much @@PCBuilderChannel
I was picking parts for my all white build and chose Sapphire nitro+ 7900xtx. It feels awesome that my choice is the same with a great mind.
Nice!
Thanks!
What's the Speed of it? Jason recommends 6000 CL30.

Hey jason! i have a really good question. i recently found a really good deal on a 4070ti in my country (Greece) where i can pay a montly payment with a 0% interest over 12 months. the problem is tho, i have a 3060ti with a 5600x and i have no idea if the 5600x is going to bottleneck the new 4070ti. keep in mind i only play warzone 3.0 and BTD6. warzone is a very GPU heavy game but still i dont know if its a good idea to upgrade (only my GPU) because of how much the 5600x will bottleneck the 4070ti. what are your thoughts? will my 5600x bottleneck the 4070ti? (i really dont want to upgrade the whole platform right now so i would like your views on this!)
oh also, i play on 1440p with dlss on

Completely depends on the GPU you want. If you want high end Nvidia I'd wait. If you want 1440p gaming with a 6700XT, 6800 etc I wouldn't wait as those are likely to completely sell out over the holidays.
Thanks! i think im going for a 4070 and a Ryzen 7700. should i wait on the gpu but buy the mobo and other pieces now?@@PCBuilderChannel
Thanks for sharing!

Would like a white suggestion and I did the MSI 850 power supply Thank you.
With the 7800X3D you'd want a 7800XT or higher, and as for the Case, a good White option is the Deepcool CH560 or Montech Air 903 Max.
Idk why, but I really enjoy unlimited budget part. 👍🏻

Ive seen in your videos you seem to enjoy the RXs but does this work with Intel as well?

AMD and Nvidia GPUs will both work great. With 12700K the max I would pair is 7800XT or 4070. Sweet spot might be 6700XT. But those are selling through so I would jump on it asap

It’s easy to see why and priced the 7700xt the way they did. To push people to the 7800xt. There’s probably some type of margin advantage to the 78 over the 77 that they’re exploiting.

why did you feel the need to have a 1200W PSU with the 7800X3D and 7900XTX? I have the same parts in my build and have a 1000W PSU
Because Nitro GPUs use more power vs other models. If it wasn't the Nitro Model 1000W is all he would need.
