you did not list zed in the counter section? he is probably the best counter to kassadin because of his strong early harass and kill pressure post 6. also full on AD which negates the use of the passive and penetrates through the magic shield of his Q.
the comb is q-r-aa-w-e (If they will be in range you can e-q-r as it will be the fastest way to recharge your e.) your w is a aa reset and has a longer range making it better to aa first then w as the longer aa range on the w makes sure you will hit it. Also with witch bane your aa after a spell is strong, which is just anther reason to r-AA-w.
you did not explain the connection between the stacked ult and w, when you stack your ult like 3 or 4 times you indeed lose mana a lot but if you gap close and use your w, you get a LOT of mana back! kassadin mains, correct me if im wrong! ty
I've played kassadin a lot recently, and i won't say that u are wrong, but u are really missing out on some things. U don't mention zed as a counter but indeed ahri which just is a skill matchup. U don't mention the importance of his aa cancel either with w? And u don't mention the strategy of going cloth armor and 4 pots against like Zed and Talon(with the e maxing, but starting off with w lvl 1 to Trade). Your guide isn't wrong, but it is definetly not detailed enough.
first of all, kassa top isnt good, just play him mid or find a different top laner. here is a summary of the benefits of maxing each ability (we will only look at what you get out of putting points into something, ie scalings wont be mentioned as they are static): Q base damage: 65-185 (120 extra magic damage in your rotation) other benefits: shield: 40-160 (120 extra shield value AGAINST MAGIC DAMAGE) W base damage: 40-140 (100 extra magic damage) other benefits: 4-8%/20-40% mana restored (mana restored increases by 4%/20%) (against nonchampion/against champion) E base damage: 80-180 (100 extra magic damage) other benefits: 50-90% slow (slow increases by 40%) you can see what you get from having just 1 point in ability, and what you get from maxing it. damage-wise, maxing Q is the best as it gives you 120 more damage, and W and E are equal. as for the other benefits, Q's shield becomes stronger, W restores more mana and E's slow becomes more powerful. W's mana restoration at level 1 is usually enough mana sustain, especially considering you build into roa and lich bane which both give mana. for this reason, i always max w last. also, Q and E can be cast from a range, so you may be casting these more often than W, and therefore you want them to do more damage. maxing Q or E first often depends on matchup. Q shield is good against ap, but if youre against ad, that shield is ineffective. Q is still superior to E in damage, however E has some other benefits. for example, maxing it makes the slow very powerful. this makes it good for teamfighting and skirmishing. it may also be helpful in certain matchups. also, E does aoe damage. again, good for teamfighting if you can hit more than one enemy. while Q will help you lane against ap, you might want to just put 3 points into it and then max E, as stated in the video. this is because you might be roaming and ganking a lot after level 6. the powerful slow and aoe damage will help with this. if you want good builds, visit probuilds. you'll be able to see the builds that actual pros build. these builds will always be better than what some random plat player tells you on mobafire (hint: dont ever use mobafire).
isnt mid kassa more fun? then you can roam to both sides of the map, including enemy jungle. thats the biggest advantage of playing kassadin. he is very good at roaming due to his riftwalk. riftwalk also allows you to go deep into enemy territory while still having escape paths. i dont know much about kassa top tbh. just try to roam mid when you can i guess. the build should be pretty much the same as mid. you can go for a tanky build where you build ibg instead of lich bane and then build into dead man's plate if your team needs a tank. then you will probably want to max e for the slow.
yes but its pretty much restricted to one side of the map. youre not gonna roam bot if youre playing kassa top (not reliably anyway). this means you lose out on kills and dragon pressure. and if youre on blue side then you lose the opportunity to steal blue after a play bot side. also if youre against tanks, youre gonna have a hard time snowballing. the only reason to play something suboptimal like kassa top is if youre playing it for fun. i dont wanna hear why you think its good, because its not. if you find it fun, good for you, just dont take these "fun" picks into ranked because your team mates wont find it so fun.
This guide is... well, as a Kassadin main, I can only say i disagree with almost everything you tell us. Max Q or W first; we don't care about low cooldowns, we care about reliability and burst damage. Take Thunderlord's and Intelligence (for CDR), not Deathfire Touch, because again, we want BURST, not a damage over time. The DoT won't stack, so if Kassadin fires all 3 of his basic abilities within 1-2 seconds of each other, (which, as an assassin, he SHOULD), then he will miss out on a lot of the DoT. I agree with your match-ups and items, with a few exceptions. You left out Zed and Yasuo as bad match-ups; Yasuo can easily out-damage you in trades if you go near the minions, and Zed can harass you with impunity pre-6, followed by high kill pressure post-6. As for items, there are situational items that can be very good on Kassadin, such as Dead Man's Plate and Archangel's Staff, and Banshee's Veil is now better than Abyssal Scepter (but that change was made after the video was published, so it's not your fault).
dft helps with pre-6 (stronger poke), tld is superior for mid-late game (this was specified in the video). i prefer tld too but dft is also good. w should always be maxed last - 1. it has the worst base damage so putting points into it is inefficient damage-wise (well its actually as efficient as E, but apart from damage, you only increase the mana restored, whereas E slow becomes more powerful) 2. lich bane increases its damage by a lot (70% + 50% = 120% ap scaling on one aa), so again points arent needed to make it effective 3. some call it the one point wonder when you dont look at the numbers, you may feel that because W feels strong and bursty, you want to put more power into it. but look at the base damages, scaling, itemisation - putting points into it isnt as effective as putting points into other stuff. you can max Q or E first depending on matchup (general rule is Q against ap, E against ad). also note that E does aoe damage and the slow becomes more potent as you put more points into it. this makes it better for teamfights but also for skirmishing. so even if youre against ap, you can probably max E after level 6 if youre going to roam a lot. i think zed and yasuo can be skill matchups - you can beat them with blinks and playing smartly. as for items, banshee's veil is good but i havent tried dead man's plate before. usually if i want to go tanky, i just swap my lich bane for ibg. but dead man's plate definitely seems viable if you want even more tankiness. i dont see how archangel's staff is situational. i think its a complete alternative to the normal core build. i dont know too much about tear builds but dont you usually end up delaying your power spike by buying tear? ive heard people say that you should buy glp instead of roa at that point because you get more initial stats from it, compensating for the delay in your spike. one last thing - if you want good builds, go to probuilds or look up high elo (master/challenger, diamond doesnt count) kassadin players on op.gg and see what they build. dont make up your own builds. these challenger players understand the game better than you, so their builds will almost always be better (i say almost because challenger players often discover new builds by looking at low elo players trying different things, but its better to wait for one of those builds to be approved by a high elo player rather than trying to make one yourself). glhf.

Kenyatte Jay i think he e flashed behind ekko and w
He made the champ have to turn around to continue attacking and let off a combo.
the all-in was wrong wasn't it? pretty sure you are supposed to do Q > R > E > AA > W (AA reset) > AA as an all-in combo
please do leona guide

2019 what is this mastery
do i need to mix my w if kassa top?

other benefits: 4-8%/20-40% mana restored (mana restored increases by 4%/20%) (against nonchampion/against champion)
E
base damage: 80-180 (100 extra magic damage)

I wouldn't count Yasuo as counter, just because of buying Armor. That reduces the damage extremly and gives you as Kassadin high kill potencial.
dft helps with pre-6 (stronger poke), tld is superior for mid-late game (this was specified in the video). i prefer tld too but dft is also good. w should always be maxed last -

i entirely agree with u as a kassadin main too, i personally max W first, because its his main damages source
Nobody in challenger maxes W first lol. Its either Q or E, depending on the matchup.
