I see you got the Luxman, congrats. This is the amp i would get if i had the funds and with Yamaha and Marantz my second and third choices.
I just bought one from Japan. They're AUD$3000 cheaper than buying here in Australia. Why....I don't know. Now I have to wait 2 weeks...........
Very nice.
It looks nice! I am equally curious about the Yamaha. Both look very well made.
Se parece a accuphase 😂
It's very good sound, very good built quality and very retro looks amplifier. Congratulate on your new amp Tharbamar.
In this price range getting a remote control where buttons are not going to work is ridiculous
The reason is they only made one remote for the whole line of integrated amps.
Tharbamar and for me this is laziness. How much can it be designing a remote specific for each device. Sorry but i really cant understand that. Device looks really good
Remote controls often decrease in apparent quality as the price of the audiophile product increases.
This is such a non factor. It literally makes no difference at all.
Nice, but I kind of doubt any of these amps will be a significant upgrade from your Denon. Having all those tiny identical buttons on the remote is a disappointment
Nice amp. Congrats on the purchase. Initial thoughts on soundstage , imaging, separation? How does it compare to Yamaha 2100 which you were also considering? Thanks!
I was going to ask the same question! I'm looking for a new integrated amp and I've narrowed my choices to the Luxman 505 or the Yamaha 2100. Wish I could find a side by side review of each. Thanks!
What a beauty, it has the vintage look
Wow, thank you for sharing. When you change the input line with the remote does the knob on the unit turn? Also, be careful when stacking components on each other. Some are not designed for it, that is how I bent the top cover on my Denon AVR-8500 with relatively light cd player.
Damn that sounds so clean and better than your previous amp. I can only wish that i could afford such gear. Congrats on the new amp... i think its well worth the money.
Beautiful, happy for you!!!!
Was waiting for this. 👍
That is a really kick ass looking amp! Congrats!
Hi, you are using marantz player as your source. I am using marantz SA8005. How much am i missing compared to Esoteric/super expensive player? Plz I need to know your answer. My amp is Parasound p6+jc5 and monior audio platinum speaker.
На много лучше звук по сравнению с Denon 2000?
The rubbish amplifier you get kowdays don't even have tone controls let alone all these extra features I've sub sonic filter
I have the Denon 2010ae. And it's built like a tank. And sounds very good
Just wait it will break, and I have heard expensive modern Denon they suck compared to a 40 year old one.
I love the smell of a new receiver like this. My Craig unit from years ago had great smell for weeks.
Dream Amp!
Needs a few months of break in. I wouldn't judge it yet.
Much better sound compared to the Denon 2500?
Nice amplifier. Finally your speakers sound nice.
Sounds great even through RUclips! Seems like a good match with your B&W speakers :) hopefully you will be happy with it! 🙏
looks very nice iam happy for you , I love Japanese hi fi
Has anyone purchased from Japan and use a step down transformer? Everything ok, sounds good?
I would not worry about stepping down you just need to get the 2-3000 watts transformer, if you’re in North America all our electricity is coming from step down transformer.
i can only afford a Yamaha N-R603...
Very nice ,I’m jealous
Thank you for your Video.
That sounds good. The MQ-88uC looks sooooo tempting.
Nice amp and great choice!
Good choice. Hope it is all you want and need. Love the look of the amp.
I prefer amber VU!
Hello from Georgia!
Congratulations on your Luxman L 505ux mk2! 👏
I'm curious? What was your reasoning of selecting the Luxman over the Yamaha?
No pun intended, but are you hearing !? What im hearing? That sounds really phenomenal and amazing.
@@fishingbear69 Yep. Apparently so? 🤷
I have my eyes on the Luxman L 509X & the Yamaha A-S3200.
Although, there's a respected YT reviewer that opted for a Denon PMA SX11 over the Yamaha & the Luxman? I'd admit. I was kinda shocked? He did say the Yamaha was only considered at a use price. List is overpriced. I don't recall his Lux reasoning. Probably price/value as well?
Wow it is big
Dang, she's pretty!
Nice video ! Have You tried the accuphase e280 or 270?
No but I had E350 before, thanks
@@Tharbamar thank you for your answer, have you find any sonic difference between the Accuphase e350 and the Luxman l505uxii?
@@lucabattanta9246 E350 Sound and build quality way above L505uxII and it don't have enough current to drive any speaker you wish them to be able drive with full control and it is overpriced in my opinion.
Quel bel amplificateur ! French is not my first language, but I thought that this deserved more romantic words than I can express in English. It is so lovely! I don’t want to pre-judge, but I think that this beauty will add an air of elegance to your listening room for many years. Of course time will tell. I look forward to hearing about your experiences with this delightful amplifier.
Actually it's ''quel bel amplificateur'' Adjectives placed in front of a masculine noun beginning with a vowel or a silent ''h'' are converted for euphonic reasons. Beau becomes bel. If it were a feminine noun it would not matter whether it began with a vowel (rare) or a consonant. ''Un bel homme'' ''Une belle femme'' ''Une belle oreille''
Pardon! Tu as raison. Dans mon excitation, je me suis trompé. J'ai réalisé après que je l'avais fait, mais je ne pensais le modifier comme la plupart des gens ne remarquent pas. Vous êtes, monsieur, exceptionnel.
Merci pour la leçon de français!
You got it!!!
Glad you're happy but I'm not impressed by the build, I think for the money I'd go with a Yamaha...
nice you got the Luxman. I am envious. Great pic. Did you every look at the Accuhase ?
Прекрасный усилитель. Мои поздравления.
👍
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Hope you can do a comparison with the Yamaha as2100 as I have it but was thinking about the luxman and it’s competitor Accuphase.
how sounds you yamaha? I thinking between luxman and yamaha.
likeris subruknem Yamaha sounds great, but for 1000.00 what does luxman sound like
@@vicg5323 luxman better?
Sound is comparable, it’s only matter of personal preference, if you want something that really different in performance 507ux II or A-S3000 is a must, I’m not even sure if this will replace my Denon yet, each have own abilities Luxman has more refinement in upper frequencies but Denon have more grip and powerful sounding with tighter bass, midrange is comparable but advantage to luxman for better separation and more musical experience, I might also have to go up above $5k to get the amp I want, I’ll be very patient to find one but it will takes a while, thanks
@@vicg5323 No pun intended, but are you hearing !? What im hearing? That sounds really phenomenal and amazing.
Nice amp! But you can also look at the Denon pma 2500,Denon sx - 11 or sx-1. The Yahama s2100 also very Nice amp
what about yamaha sound quality comparing with luxman? they are similar or diferent?
I will buy the unit 4 the meters & nothing else!
Old amplifier danon sale me?? Plz reply ??
Sorry it’s not for sale, thanks
@@Tharbamar why?
@@Tharbamar if you don't sale then send me.....
@@Tharbamar reply ??
Sounds like good separation, even comes through on my phone speaker!
It is pretty nice sounding amplifier but I’m not sure I can be happy with it for next 10+ years and reminds me of Accuphase E306 in some ways, like relaxing sound signature with nice control across the frequency range.
Tharbamar what do you think of the Yamaha?
@@Tharbamar let it break and review it in great detail please very interested!
This is the amp I purchased about a year ago. I've paired it with a Luxman phono preamp to go with my Marantz turntable, built by Clearaudio. Along with a Maestro MM Cartridge and a pair of Tannoy Gold Reference speakers, it sounds incredible. I plan on adding A Luxman Turntable and CD player in order to have a complete Luxman system as soon as my budget allows.Correction. I have the Luxman 507 UX-ll. Same look but more money.
No word on sound impressions ?
What's that song that starts out with "Mona Lisa"?
it's Mona Lisa by Grace Mahya.
Tharbamar where did you find it? I don't seem to see it anywhere besides for sale on Discogs.
SACD from Japan.
Tharbamar thanks! Looks like I'll be ordering one from Japan!
did you ever considered the music fidelity m6si?
Yes but I disregard that due to not real dual mono design.
@@Tharbamar is good m6si is not? true mono separed for two chanel?
@@Tharbamar really in amp say dual mono !!!
@@Tharbamar why??
Could you do a review of the RP600M with your Denon vs the Luxman. I know it's crazy to hook up a $600 speakers to a $5k amp, but amps usually stay longer in your system than your speakers(if you've found the right amp) . The analogy; if you have a desktop computer, the monitor stays around a lot longer than pretty much every other component.
RP600 was a sample for review, I no longer have them in my system, thanks
Looks like McIntosh.
Thx for sharing. Any reason you chose this Luxman integrated over one of their full Class A models?
I like Class A but do not like heat from them.
luxman was great in the 1980´s but today its all about old whine in new bottles and expensive stuff.... the 80´s was great time for hifi today it cost 80% less to build.. and whats new ?? i say nothing!!
With Class D ampl. getting so small and cheap, this Lux looks huge and heavy. Not many people want to own such a huge amp. The look and feel that amp project is like those amps manufactured in the seventies, is there a market for this type of Amp?
That is the question of the decade.
Yes. Of course there is a market for quality.🤷 More bang for your buck always matters!👍
New doesn't always equate to better. Often, less for more is only a marketing ploy. The well over built stuff is still around!
We don't see Krell "downsizing" anytime soon?
100% of course !!! No pun intended, but are you hearing !? What im hearing? That sounds really phenomenal and amazing., WOW that luxman sound quality its difficult to beat..
Seems like a nice integrated amplifier, but the Yamaha as2100 is nicer better build quality
Yes binding posts and small knobs on Yamaha is higher quality.
I have the Yamaha. Can’t imagine a better sounding amp.
I can"t chose between those two. which one is better sounding and better components insied?
@@bugpack6 ya me too i love my yamaha
@@Tharbamar would looove a review or comparison between this Luxman and the Yamaha A-S2100!
Nice, very very nice. Lovely amp and best choice of all those you mentioned, the only other contender the Yamaha perhaps. Happy for you, enjoy.
Thank you!
How much?
Beautiful amp but to bad that not all the knobs are aluminium like the volume knob. I like the knobs of Yamaha better and also the binding post. Did u check for Accuphase ? Also super Nice. Thanks for the Nice video 🆒
Yes I had E306 & DP55 back in the days but Accuphase is too expensive in the U.S. to even think of auditioning, but you never know, Thanks
@@Tharbamar Very nice amplifier that Accuphase E-306, but indeed expensive stuff. I have just purchased an Accuphase E-205 (vintage) amplifier. and I am very impressed with the sound. I'm going to have it revised. I am very curious how you will find the Luxman when it comes to sound?
It’s a very good sounding amp but I’m not sure yet to have it for long time as my main amplifier, I might be going back to Accuphase, thanks
@@Tharbamar does the accuphase sound better than a luxman ?
Here we go again, man, when are you gonna get one of those McIntosh
No MC for me, thanks
@@Tharbamar i know a guy that always loved vintage integrated amps for years and years, sansui, akai and others... He never had a tube amp, he tested one and now he don't like those amps, which are great, but they are never gonna give you the mids and highs of a tube amp. Never say "no me", tubes have always been better
I have heard best tube amps from AR, LM, Triode etc in other people systems, they are great but to each of is own, I’m not really interested in tube at this moment for many reasons and I love the good quality solid state amps for affordability and performance, I’m not fan of vintage stuff(except turntables), the reason I still have them is they are still working perfectly, that’s the only reason.
Thanks for advice.
@@Tharbamar It's a very subtil difference so most probably you are not gonna get it in your friend's house. You need to own the equipment and make a long test in your house. For me if you want good bass, those integrated amps are really good, and if you want the best mids and highs, just tubes. Some people bi-amp and use integrated amps for the bass and tubes for mids and highs and get the best of all. If you play electric guitar, you are gonna get the difference inmediatly between tubes and solid state, with music is more difficul to get it. Anyway, tubes are the very best.
you will keep it ?
I have not decided yet, thanks
@@Tharbamar is amazing the song but expensive do u like the musical fidely m6si i think is good for the price its strong !!
This amp is a beast/outstanding unit. It is extremely well built, and will last for years to come. Its not affordable for most people, price is the only downside.
it sounds a bit thin to me on the top end, almost like overly sharp, and it seems to lack a ton of bass. However, there seem to be great dynamics and great tonal variation. The imaging was fantastic even through you tube. maybe if you added as sub it would ameliorate a lot of that. Like maybe a REL sub.
Have you heard this amp personally?
Zachary Doering Yeah, you sound like a real expert. ROFLMAO.
This is the "SMALLER" solid state intergrated amplifier from Luxman. I think the products from Yamaha and Denon can't compete with it. Jees...you hear that click!? If that doesn't sound solid like rock huh? XD
Thats truely a kickass Integrated ! When i can't fix my own audio, the audio tech i take my audio gear to says Luxman is one of the best you can buy for the money ! He says luxman doesn't cheap out on parts and their easy to work on because the engeenring is very good ! Really happy for you ! You deserve it! all the hard work you put into reviews i just wanna say thank you 😆
Thanks Tee-Jay!
@@Tharbamar can't wait untill the review , curious about the sound signature, i have a feeling that the amp presents a rich refined tones in the midrange with amazing top in clarity with a bit of smoothness with bottom end authority and control 😆
Modern hifi is crap why is this in my recommended. I just talked to a guy today that thought his Denon from 1979 sounded better than a $2500 modern amp and it wasnt even recapped, would be even better then. I started in modern and quite expensive hifi myself until I discovered vintage and how much better it sounds. No way Im going back to modern, it sucks and built like crap can barely last a decade.
