I had the same problem, and your fix worked! I had a chunk of plastic in the track that must have made the motor skip some of the teeth. Easy fix--thanks for your video!!
Mine makes noises but will not open on its own.. I can lift open with my fingers.. Do u think it's off track?? Causes major leaking in back seats on speakers
Hi I have Hyndai Genesis Sedan (3.8 litre engine), sun roof stuck in slightly open position. Can't close or open fully. The motor sounds wierd noise when pushing the button. I live in Maple, Vaughan. Any suggestions?
Lal Vishwanath either have ice built up im sunroof jam and sensor wont allow full open or close or u could try the exact steps that are givin , once the motor is off you can manually push it completely closed then push the button into fully closed position reinstall motor and should be able to open and close perfectly again
Sweet .. mine got stuck open and luckily i kept hitting the button and eventually it closed but now it WILL NOT OPEN ... I will yank that out and give it a try, thanks
Hi guys, my 2012 Genesis Coupe has a sunroof that slides open and close and also tilts up at the backside. Out of nowhere, the tilt part tries to close when I push the button & gets almost shut, then makes a noise like it’s striping the gear. I’m not sure that’s what your video is addressing but I am going to give it a try. I’ll let you know if it works for my problem. FINGERS CROSSED! 🤞
genesis coupe sunroof motor teste and run only one direction. Sunroof not opening. Opened manually. Closing is working but grinding at the full close. Tilt up work and full up grinding noise. Please help
Mine is not broken but if it ever does break I know what to do THANKS BRO! I bet you if you took this to the dealer they would say that your motor was bad and some more stuff and then charge you like $500 to fix it smh lol
@@travistapout4796 thanks. I found it that same the and was able to close it, the reason the sunroof wouldn't close was because there was a crack on the track. Soni have to fix that and then close the roof.
peter safieh I checked the fuses already... none were shot. So I'm thinking it's the switch configuration because I highly doubt it's the motor too. Hmm
Raiden X Alvarez bro best thing to do is take that motor out and put power to it from the plug and see if it works if so then you must have blown fuse or poor connection if it dosent work by manually putting power to it then you need a new motor , keep me updated. btw when u put positive snd negative to the pins on the plug dont forget to hsve two postivr wires one to the positive pin from powet source and another going to one of the middle pins witch will be a trigger pin from up down tilt and so on
@@safiehp so I took those two screws out and the connector was unplugged and I plug it in but makes a noise at the end when it closes, that is why the previous owner disconnected it
@2023! I just fixed my 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe sunroof with the help of this video! Thank you so much. God bless the internet!

Thank you for posting, this solved my 2008 Hyundai Azera issue with the sunroof not closing, staying in tilt.
There is a Allen key screw on the motor. It will manually open and close sunroof

Gear in the motor probably jammed , motor trying to turn when you press the button but has no place to go that's most likely the noise your hearing
Awesome thank you
Also sounds like you might have a leak or rip in your sunroof drain tube in the rear! Or your tubes plugged causing the leak
Okay thanks gonna check out the tube right now

Does the sunroof of 2013 genesis open completely or it only opens upward and not slide out?

I know this is a old comment you posted but any updates did this fix work for you, I'm having the same problem
is there a fuse for this motor?

Mine tries to move closed but seems to retract automatically so it doesn’t break like a rock is wedged in there I’m not too sure how to fix it
thank u! big help
Thanks👌

Nice job
Did this and it still didn't close my sunroof. ☹️
King_340 There is a Allen key bolt on the sunroof motor... it will manually open and close sunroof

my sunroof just doesn't respond. do I have to get a new one?
Raiden X Alvarez if its not responding periode first thing to check would be a bad fuse , i doubt the motor is shot
peter safieh I checked the fuses already... none were shot. So I'm thinking it's the switch configuration because I highly doubt it's the motor too. Hmm
Raiden X Alvarez when you remove the panel to see the motor and hit the switch does the motor make a sound at all ?
The only sounds is the clicking of the button. But no motor noises. Nor electrical humming.

Mine has no power at all you can't even hear the motor
Unplug it and put power to the motor manually with a pair of stripped wires and like a electric gun battery. If she doesn't move the motors trash

@@THEMAKDON what's it sound like, Grinding or a humming ?
It’s that silver one
