@Anders757747 it has not flown yet, on the 17th the engines were examined to see in what shape they were to see if a ground taxi was possible. She is no where near flying yet
By the way Concorde's engines were the most fuel efficient jet engines and i think it still is. This is based on 60's and 70's technology. Think what Rolls Royce can do now...
@elfling Last time i tell you. Concorde takes off at 250 MPH MILES PER HOUR! 1MPH = .86kts 250MPH = 215 KTS Seems u are the one that does not know the difference.
Concorde made 25% net profit for BA. Don't forget the huge publicity and customers BA and AF gained with the association with the aircraft. (Indirect revenue) Also BA and AF could have asked Rolls Royce to develop cleaner more fuel efficient engines which would have solved that problem. It's inexcusable that this aircraft was taken out of service due to sheer politics. As a maintenance programme was in place to keep Concorde flying till 2012. (Google > "betrayal of concorde", First link!)
it was a great plane but the russians just screwed up cuz they copied the concorde design and attempted some changes and tried to get it to fly before concorde was finished but in the process they screwed up its supersonic flight so yeah, it can go mach 2.2 which is cool but it cant sustain mach 2 without reheat making it un fuel efficient, plus i dont think the passengers likes the bouncy landings...lol...still it was an amazing plane
dude, chill....its a figure of speech....you can see the curvature of the earth and the sky turns black....only thing closer is space so the only way else to see that is in space so metaphorically speaking its pretty close to the edge of space....not technically speaking

Totally agree, he'd make it work.
@Anders757747 umm no, theyre all grounded, the re-lit the engines of an air france concorde but it did not fly

The Tupolev Tu-144 was actually faster but short lived. :(

Boeing should of assisted in providing the needed parts, even if it was a rival aerospace company like Airbus.

18 KM is fucking not the edge of space, that's 100 KM
