LTD MH1000NT Deluxe clean sound

Since this guitar is equipped with avtive EMG's, with a heavy output, it doesn't seem to have that nice clean tone versatility that one needs for blues, acoustic rock or simple chord arpeggios. However, I recorded this demo with my effects processor, and overall the sound is satisfactory. However, if you wanna play anything else excepting metal music, i recommend that you replace the original EMG;s with passive SM's (btw, the new mh1000 comes with JB in bridge, and 59 in neck)

nothing out of the ordinary, to say the least. For this video I used my old ZOOM gfx707 effects. no amp used. I go direct to the audio card on my PC.

I record the sound (raw) as the camera is filming. The sound goes direct to the stereo in (line-in). Once done, I edit the audio file, synchronize with the video, then save it as mp3. Finally, I mix this audio down to the video file, using simple software.

I was thinking about getting the new version of this, but I wasnt sure about the duncan pickups... I know they are more versitile, but do they really have the bite that the emgs have?
My favorite band is metallica, and thats mostly what I like to play. I DO play other stuff, but if they duncans cant produce that dark crunchy metallica tone, I dont want them.

I really wanna know your recording setup? Are you using Mbox, condenser microphone or what? What is your AMP?

Ahh wish they still made this guitar! ESP always discontinue the best guitars :(
