riffs played (in order of succession):
1) my own in the key of D Mixolydian
2) STEEHLEART - I Just Wanna Rock'n'Roll (Glam Metal band)
3) Y. Malmsteen - Rising Force
4) КРУИЗ - "in Flames"
5) JUDAS PRIEST - "Painkiller" (slightly modified to add a "Phrygian" feel to it)

I am interested in all the modes )) esspecially the dreamy Lydian and jazzy Dorian. The Mixolydian is merely a most common mode that u come across with in "joyfull" bluesy/rock'n'roll kind of riffs (like the one here with D - C - G/B).
Also, since I am a part-time guitar teacher, the modes are my speciality. I spent quite a while with my students (if interested) analysing the modes, and learning how to use them...

Well Done ! ... your mixolydian riffing is very nice ! i see you are intrested in mixolydian ! it's a major scale but the 7s tone of the scale gives a strange lost feeling .. i mix it with minor sometimes ;)
