Back in October of 2009 I had the chance to see him, D-Wade and Shaq in person at a preseason game between them and the hornets. But he had the kidney situation, and Shaq and Dwyane was resting up for the regular season. But it was still a great game and the hornets won 85-83.(I got to see my boys Tyson and CP3 tho) but I still wish to meet Alonzo in person.

Wow, Alonzo gave one of the best hall of fame speeches of any sport. He was a class act in college (Go Gtown) and hard working player, a talented cat in the Pros. You are a great inspiration for many that face many obstacles in life especially when it comes to medical illness. Thank you Alonzo for showing the way for not giving up and continue the overall fight for life. You are truly a fall of famer both on and off the court!

That dude is a first class asshole ! I met him at the airport in toronto after the usa won gold in 94 ! Imagine being from Belgium and fly all the way up there to see the USA play ! So I see him coming into the airport and it was early so not many people and I was WOW I need to get an autograph, so I walked up to him and asked politely excuse me Alonzo can I get your autograph pls , he looked at me and said fuck off 😳 I said excuse me ? He said fuck off leave me alone ! People who know me know I wouldn’t walk away without saying anything to him! I said you what asshole fuck you and btw Shaq is better than you ! A bit later JT walks in , I see him and walked up to him to tell him what happened and he looked like a bit sorry , but before I walked away I said you sure didn’t teach good manners 😜Since than that dude was nothing to me , no matter what you simply don’t do that to people!

Kidney disease and all and then a kidney transplant later he comes back and goes to two NBA finals where he has more blocks that Shaq. including 5 in Game 6 to win the title. For the first 8 seasons before his illness he avg'd 20 pts, 10 reb. and 3.5 blocks ! Mourning averaged the most blocks in the NBA per 48 minutes with 5.46 = HOF

ZO was my childhood hero. Has was undersized yet still dominated. he was strong powerful physique . Mostly, he challenged every single shot from his opponents. Showing everyone nothing comes easy against his team.

If you played NBA JAM and weren't using him and the Hornets, you were doing it wrong. Started my love for Zo and I pulled for him ever since. What a dude.

Alonzo knows how suffering is, being Christian . God bless him and his family. Being Christian is to pick up our cross. He carried a very heavy cross. Not alone, but his family with him. I have learned that every men like him are called to show the rest of us how to do it. Thanks Alonzo and your family, for showing us how to keep the faith. And being strong for out Lord!!! 05/02/19.
