I'll be publishing the data in a blog post fairly soon. I have my spreadsheets and graphs all updated based on the final tests I did today, which improved the early VW fan results and the Porsche 356 fan results. I'll probably post the data some other places too, just to get the word out. Hopefully, I'll be testing the production process next week, and be able to begin full production soon after that.
I am running the original design you made in a beetle. Cooling wise it is fantastic. My only issue is the noise of the fan.I am running a Scat shroud 36 style with heat outlets and a venturi ring. Engine is 2054 with dual 40 Dellortos. So far I have 600 miles on this set up.
Yes, it makes quite a high pitched sound which is easier to hear, and it is roughly 10% louder. The new design will not have that sound. It will be slightly louder, but it will have the same pitch, so it won't be very noticeable at all.
There's one thing I'm still not clear on. Does the last fan design work better than the new one in the situations where there aren't factors like the two customers you mentioned?
It would be quite hard to do that. You would probably have to have a toothed drive belt, like a blower drive belt, to do that (no belt slip). I certainly will test to 8,000 RPM on a four rib poly v-belt drive, like I did the original.
Great news, looking forward in seeing the final data.

Can’t wait for these fans to become available. Will you be shipping to the uk?
Yes, I'll be shipping to the U.K. I have probably shipped a dozen or so to the U.K. of the first generation lightweight cooling fan, maybe more.

They will be similar, but the additional optimization I did on the new one means better performance with the velocity ring.
Curious if you're going to test these to RPM failure?
