    Quick question. Water got inside the h2. Dried it out and sealed all the places where it could had entered. No more water getting in but now battery dies. If I unplug the wiper connector the lights go off. If I don't unplug it the interior lights stay on causing the battery to die. Any recommendations on where to start?

      @dailydrivenH2  7 месяцев назад +1

      Ok when you say lights go off you’re referring to the interior lights???
      I had to replace the switches up on top in the middle that control the lights cause water got in there from the middle lights and ruined the board that’s behind the 2 black buttons that turn on the interior lights and was causing all kinds of problems including draining the battery cause lights will be acting weird.

      @dailydrivenH2 yes the interior lights stay on and cause the battery to die. I replaced the ignition switch and still same issue. I took it to a mechanic, he changed the ignition switch too and then he found out that whenever he disconnected the wipers the interior lights would turn off but as soon as he plugged it back on the interior lights would stay back on. Could it be possible to make a quick video on the switches ? Thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

      @@LowBudgetCarGuyI would replace the light switch on the left of the dash. They're pretty cheap and an easy diy thing. My H2 is goofy too. Runs good asf but every now and again the battery dies. As recently as yesterday morning. Last time before that was about 6 months ago. Been dealing with it for about 5 years and I'm about done with it and ready to sell and buy a dually. But not before I put a couple "15 subs and a nice amp in to push em! Good luck!

      Mine was Onstar and the ignition module. The truck didn't realize it was in off position.

    10:00 can you share your friend's quick fix to remove the static? Thanks

    • @dailydrivenH2
      @dailydrivenH2  Год назад +2

      He pretty much replaced the wiring portion that goes into the door with newer wires the older install was pretty messed up and some connections was not even using the right connectors just a bunch of wires tangled up into sort of a bundle just so that the wires could make contact. After all that mess was cleaned up all the static went away. If there was anything else he replaced I most of missed but pretty sure thats all he did .

      @@dailydrivenH2 Thanks for the quick reply, appreciate it. I upgraded the head unit from an old Pioneer to Kenwood DMX8020S and now I get intermittent static from the speakers. The original Pioneer install was a hack job (from previous owner) so I had to rewire the loom. Mine is factory Bose so has the built-in amp so I used a Hi-Low level converter to use the RCA outputs of the headunit to the amp. This reduced some static but it returns randomly with a slightly different sound. I haven't checked the door speakers if they're still factory or aftermarket (since you advise against it due to the panel build quality) but if it has aftermarket speakers, might be worth a look.

      @@dailydrivenH2 right on! check out my video that I just posted it just recaps the conversion. You’re going to have to do some minor fabrications but other than that it’s easy Peezy.

    Got the on star out had dvd in middle console was able to pull it up high enough and get the 4 screws and move the box

  • @joeysweet9045
    @joeysweet9045 Год назад +1

    Why don't you just put the onstar box back in the hole but not hook it up (plug it in) that way it still looks factory and you won't have to try and fill the hole up with something??

    • @dailydrivenH2
      @dailydrivenH2  Год назад +3

      Im thinking of 3d printing something to fill the hole and put some switches for the off-road lights.

    Have you ever had a vibrating sound on the passenger side when driving over 70 mph… sounds like plastic…

    • @dailydrivenH2
      @dailydrivenH2  2 года назад +1

      H2s used to be called rattle snakes because all the cheap plastic GM used any little crack and you will always get rattle sounds from door panels and places like that . The plastic piece in the center console around the radio and AC is also nutritious for rattling from time to time .
