    What you could potentially do is have a mothership that can come rescue you. Imagine being able to venture out and explore on a bike or small rover, but when you are in danger you can have a rescue craft come to your location and pick you up.

      @@LastStandGamers What you demonstrated and explained is awesome! Got a question: Is there not a limit for this system. Had not played Space Engineers for years now and only slightly recall that there was a range limit for signals. Am I wrong about that memory or did it change maybe?
      My priority for sanity, social life and better timemanagement had not allowed me to come back to it. And the state of the game back then had not been the best. But what I saw here might be interesting to think about it after so many years.

    • @dakaodo
      @dakaodo Год назад +1

      @@Chareidos SE's game loops have probably not changed much since you played, but they have definitely improved in execution tremendously in the past few years. Clang is still our lord, but he is slightly less obvious and more consistent now. Collisions, combat, etc are pretty fun now. And the new AI blocks raise the floor for making basic script type behaviors into modular building blocks without need for scripting (and based on Keen's PCU valuation, these new blocks seem to be moderately light on performance).
      There is still a range for signals, but beacons have a tremendous range. Don't recall for small grid, but large grid is max 200 km. Antenna max range is less, but not used for this application.

    Loved the video @LastStandGamers! Can't wait for the next video man! There's only a few other Helicopters that I can see this being done with. The Westland Lynx AH.7 and AH.9 Multipurpose Military Helicopter, the Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion Heavy Lift Cargo Helicopter and the Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk Medium Lift Utility Helicopter. Imagine seeing these Helicopters Moving in with Cargo and Reinforcements. The British using the Lynx's alongside the Chinooks they Purchased from the U.S. While the U.S. uses the Chinooks, Super Stallion's and Black Hawks as follows.....
    British Army: 41 Chinook HC1 (CH-47C), 32 Chinook HC2 and 6 HC2A (CH-47D), 119 Lynx AH.7 and 24 AH.9
    U.S. Army: 233 CH-47C, 427 CH-47D, 234 CH-53E, unknown number of the 5,000 Black Hawks built as of January 2023 as the UH-60M.
    These are the Historical Limits of the Helicopters in Britain and American Inventories, but the Thought of Having Helicopters Moving Cargo and Possibly even Troops and Equipment around is very Interesting.
    I wonder if something similar can be done with Tanks and other Ground Vehicles?

    They need to add toggles to a few windows like say you want it to slow down of speed up at point or slow down at one (Sam or docking for example) also I haven't been on since the update but it'd be nice if the event controller block read the ore detectors n could signal to the ai ore deposits. This could aid in mining or scouting mining locations or it could be used to target hydrogen systems for a homing middle of sorts. That's if you can configure ore detectors to read cargo containers

    Gday mate. Love the simple way you describe these things! I was wondering if you could setup something that has the ability to engage or disengage more downward thrust depending on the weight of the transporter. I am trying this atm with a small hydro machine that has about eight small thrusters under it. With no load it would fly on 2 thrusters but if I load it with ore for example it would turn on more additional thrusters till lift is attained. The idea it not really for the cargo change but I want this one machine to be easily with more turrets and ammo without needing to manually add more thrust. I have a really cool little example of the vehicle if you need an example. I have also purposely made it over complicated so that it needs to use the ai bits to make it flyabld
