    Her first live performance of this song done at The BRIT awards backed by of course FINNEAS, but also Hans Zimmer and Johnny Marr was PHENOMENAL!! It’s a MUST SEE for sure.

    Billie and Finneas were only 17 and 21 when they wrote and produced this. Amazing. The Oscars performance is fantastic, you can really tell how much her voice has matured and became strong in those 2 years, and she was also ill at the Oscars also Billie became the first Oscar winner born in the 21st Century x

    I don't think it has to be a big belt. It doesn't have to be Adele. This was plenty for what it was. Billie is legit the real deal.

    What I really love about the movie is how Hans Zimmer incorporated the melody of this song and even her voicd in the most crucial and emotional parts. It's a perfect fit for the movie. The song was written within 3 days while Billie and Finneas were on tour. They recorded the demo in the tour bus. Would love to see more reactions to Billie. If you want more "belty" stuff check out happier than ever live/mv

    found your channel bcs of the IU ‘love wins all’ reaction (which ngl got me teary eyed even tho i’ve watched that video a few times already), watching this one just confirmed to me that your vibe is great 👌 you pay attention, and seem to actually absorb the content you’re watching, AND your comments are more than just basic, generic compliments. i don’t expect reactions to be a whole in-depth analyses of the content, but it’s shocking how a good chunk of reactors don’t even speak (some just sit there staring at the screen with a straight face for 5-10 to the point i wonder if the video froze or something cuz like 😭)

    Great stuff. I was lucky enough to see her perform this in New York in Feb. It wasn't on the tour set list, presumably because it is very demanding to sing every day, but they were practicing it ahead of their big Oscar performance. It was mesmerizing, of course! In fact, the Bond channel has an HD version of that performance right here: ruclips.net/video/Roax5oX8HwY/видео.html

  • @gigatoob
    @gigatoob 2 года назад +5

    Reviewers basing so much of a singer's ability on belting is limited imo. Did Billie Holiday belt? Or Peggy Lee? Billie is barely 17 or 18 when she wrote and recorded this. To sing at her level and ability with this maturity should be enough. And an Oscar too for a BOND song. Who else has done this age and early in their career. I personally do not expect every singer to sound like Adele or a Beyonce.. Billie can sing jazz, blues, rock, and pop. Check her out singing 'Fever' honoring Peggy Lee.
    ugh, rant over... I did like your Aurora reviews..

    • @tnae
      @tnae  2 года назад

      Thank you, lol. I hope you liked my conversation around Billie, too. I pretty much took the same position that you expressed here. Sure here big note wasn't nearly as big as you'd get from an Adele or Gaga or Beyonce...but that isn't the metric I would use anyway. I hope I made that clear in my commentary.

    Nice Review! Either the "Live from the Brits" with Hans Zimmer conducting and Finneas (Billie's brother) on piano [Billie Eilish channel, Feb. 18, 2020] or "No Time to Die" Live from the Oscars [Billie Eilish Channel, March 28, 2022] might be fun for you. Also, for Billie in a different context with a fuller and beautiful sound and either for your enjoyment or review, why not watch her and listen to her sing Peggy Lee's "FEVER" (awesome, jazz, Count Basie Orchestra) [SoCalLiveitLive channel July 28, 2022 @ the HOLLYWOOD DOME or watch Nina Schofield (channel) break it down [August 3, 2022] or check out the very beautiful presentation by Billie of "Sally's Song" from Danny Elfman's "the Nightmare before Christmas" [lucid channel Oct 30, 2021] and take note of her stage presence. Tristian Paredes does a very nice review at the channel under his name November 3, 2021. I suggest those reviews only if you wouldn't be reacting to the songs yourself.

    I agree on the lyrics. Quite nice. Musically, though, a bit ASMR for a Bond theme in my opinion. Whispery, is not my favorite style of female pop vocals. Billie is very talented, and has good songs. But this one will not displace: “Skyfall”, “A View to a Kill”, “Diamonds Are Forever”, “Goldfinger” and “Lie and Let Die” on my personal top 5.
    I didn’t see the movie, so I can’t comment on how well it sets the scene and theme.

    • @tnae
      @tnae  2 года назад +2

      I don't disagree. I think this very clearly represents a shift in the target demographic (or at least the desired demographic) of the bond francise and hollywood as a whole. It's Skyfall for me, running away with it, but I do have an appreciation for what Billie does from the little I've heard (I kinda think her brother may be the genius in the family) and this one might actually crack my top five....maybe.
      Thanks for watchign and for the comment. I love seeing dissenting opinions that are given with civility and respect. I appreciate you and am honored to have you among my viewers.

      Actually it was perfect for the movie, her vocals were perfect: dark, haunting, with that vibrato creepy, mistery, dramatic, deep and very powerful in emotion Etc.. music critics ranks the song on the top how one of the best song of James Bond of all time.. together with Skyfall, some magazine put her even before SKyfall 🙆🏻‍♀️ if you haven't seen the movie in the cinema you can't understand, people were crying after bc of that song and they said they felt chills with her voice.. i think you must see the movie with a good acoustic sound system and after judge it.

    • @Jack2729o
      @Jack2729o 2 года назад

      @@tnaethey are the genius, both.. not only him.. they write together the music, and Hans Zimmer actually said in a interview that he was shocked bc they (musicians, composers) were like toys in Billie’s hands, bc she knew how the song should be and she decided the composition with orchestra Etc.. and she was only 17 years old at that time the youngest in James Bond history. Of course Finneas is a genius in production, but she is there too and she writes too. So these siblings are genius.
