I forgot, I love the color matched date on this watch. This, with the waves in the black face, can’t be beat. Every time I put this watch on I fall in love with it again.
Got myself a 36mm version for just 1511 shipped on eBay with box and papers!! One small ding on the case but otherwise in great shape. Cannot wait for it to get delivered!!!
I bought mine for my 40th birthday in 91. My box was red with the omega badge on the top. Cost £1050 from memory give or take a few quid ( I could check the receipt). I paid a deposit and then 11 ( 12) equal payments.
Getting one myself, just been serviced by omega with new crystal, hands and new bracelet. The service and new bracelet cost£1300, and I'm paying about three for it, can't wait
Great video, short and to the point! This watch is my favorite from the Seamaster line up that I can afford (forget the coaxial stuff). I owned this model in the early 00's and later sold it but now have another. Most Seamaster fanboys go for the Bond versions but for myself it's almost as if the design team had been given a Bond brief but knew it wasn't right and designed this beauty in the backroom using the original features of the Omega 165. The large pizza slice at 12 is a design feature required by the British MOD for their divers and carried it on with this dial, often derided by the uneducated as an OTT feature but look up any Brit MOD diver and it's there CWC, Precista, Rolex, etc. This is the true "Bond" watch IMO, understated and back in the day not advertised at all in the press. This is the one to own IMO.
I have owned and worn this reference since 1999. Tried on the latest Seamaster and just doesnt do it for me. I love this Seamaster and the very comfortable and slim look of this watch. The best Seamaster ever made imo.
this watch is so beauriful. perfect size i can't figure out why Omega had to make everything oversize now do they not know that people outside America buy their watches too???
bought my Omega 2254 back in 2018 for $1500 as a beater watch as I have a rotation of three Rolex watches, but now love my 2254 and it now gets more wrist time than my Rolex watches, it is a watch I will never sell .
Keep an eye out for the 2230.50 non-AC dial if you ever wanna swap in essentially the same dial just with white gold Omega logo and raised indices. I did this with a midsize using a 2236.50 dial and it looks amazing. Also the 1120 has some benefits in that most watchmakers can service it, the Omega tools required to service the coaxial escapement versions of the 2892-a2 are expensive and most independents won't touch them.

I had one but sold it on. The numbered bezel font was a little too big for my liking and skewed the symmetry of the dial overall. Looks great in pics but in person on the wrist it was different. Also I found on the wrist that the bracelet just didn't work for me. The polished edges on the inner piece on the speedy style bracelet was a bit too blingy (the clasp is very good though). It is a delightfully thin diver though and that is a great thing. But I moved it on and made a 40% profit in a short time. Went back to my old trusty sub.These 2254 models are very expensive now and getting more so each month so get in while you can.
Great watch. Have one as well. Also have two skeleton hand 300m Seamasters, which now get zero wrist time now that I’ve got the 2254.50. Gonna be selling my skeleton ones

Unfortunately this pre-dates the co-axial escapement??? Ha!!! That is NOT unfortunate. Unlike the bloated co-axial watches, this one is nice and thin. I am super glad that the 2254.50 does not have co-axial!!!

Nice! It’s a very good looking and comfy piece though I’m still having an issue finding the right sizing for my wrist (though it is winter here which makes it difficult to size)

Yeah the bracelet is tough to get a good fit with. Also not a huge fan of the bracelet in general. It feels quite dated. Although ive been wearing it on it lately. It looks great on a nato as well as a shark mesh. It’s simply a strap monster. 👍
Was wearing it on a recent trip to Hawai’i last week and was sitting at a bar with friends and a Japanese gent sitting right next to me had the same watch on, I just had to say something. It was pretty cool!!
So what if the movement in this piece pre dates the co-axial era? The clear benefit is a thinner case height whilst retaining chronometer certification.
Best Omega ever. I love my PO and AT, but the Peter Blake 2254 just exudes class and history. And like you, I don't like the skeleton hands of the Brosnan Bond or modern Seamaster.

Thanks! It’s a great watch and keeps pretty good time even after 16 years. Haven’t done a proper test of accuracy and I’m not one who needs the most accurate timekeeping in a mechanical watch (I use quartz for that), as long as it’s reasonably accurate, which this is
Aah based on eta 2892... that explains why it is so thin for a 300m dive watch. It s a pity Omega cannot make a better coaxial movement whatsoever as thin as this eta 2892.

Thank for watching the video! Really happy with this watch and the experience overall. They shipped the watch right away and it is in perfect condition. Yes, I had to pay taxes (on all purchases online) and then import duties to get it in the US (5% of the price). But the average price in US for this reference was significantly higher than in JP so even with the fees I got this for a lot less than from US dealer. I’ve purchased a few watches on C24 from Japan and always works out great. Give it a try!
I've bought watches and other stuff from overseas but you have to ask to not disclose full value and forsake any postal insurance. I've bought watches in excess $2k with no insurance and valued at $18 on package. My risk but never had a problem. If concerned just pay the taxes and accept it's part of the overall price, probably still saving.
I would suggest being aboveboard and many companies won’t fudge value on customs forms. All you have to do is compare the JP price plus tax and customs to the US price, usually even with them included you are saving quite a bit as there is quite a markup in the US market

Hi Steve! Unfortunately I’m not planning on selling mine any time soon but there are likely a number of references on Chrono24 that are in various states of condition. Like I said in the video I got mine all the way from Japan and the prior owner took really good care of it. Just look closely at the pictures and pick the best one for you. Cheers!
What is the accuracy like? I looked at a few offers from Japan on C24 but most of them seem to be running 10 or more sec/ day off. How much would it cost to get it readjusted?
The accuracy is not bad but not amazing on my watch. Think something like 10-20 secs off per day. Something that could easily get adjusted by a local watchmaker. Each place has its own rates so do an internet search for watch service near you and check out their website. The place near me is a few hundred dollars for full servicing. I didn’t buy this watch for supreme accuracy so personally I am good with its current abilities.

Found a 2010 black quartz SMP model in great shape recently. Put it on an Uncle Straps 1450 bracelet and now it's my favorite watch. Nice find!

i purchased a PO from the 2007 with the ETA movement. i have to say the slimmer, older Omega's look so much better that the new ones

The 2254.50 has an excellent reliable movement too. It’s accuracy is scary good. I’m averaging +1.6 seconds per day.
Yeah, it’s also impressive how good the lume still is on this thing after 16 years
Also this thing looks great on quite a variety of different color NATO strap or a Zealande strap.

Just got one of these from Watch finder its running at + 1+2 secs a day. its a beauty. not bad for 17 years old.
What other fees did you have to pay for shipping from japan?
