Shadowbringers was filled with amazing characters like Emet-Selch, G'raha Tia, and Feo Ul, as well as a tonne of minor characters who I cheered when seeing them all come together for the giant talos, but Ardbert by far was the best. God damn, his arc of a lost soul who gave up long ago becoming reinvigorated was spectacular, and I am so glad he's now with us forever.
I think the best part of it all was the unbearable light. It's often a theme to have darkness be oppressing and scary; but there was something just ominous about endless, bright light everywhere. You realize that light and dark aren't inherently related to our opinions of good or evil; that both are required to achieve a balance. It's very D&D. Where the axis of Law and Chaos, Good and Evil, are required to maintain equilibrium, and when one exceeds the other...well, you get this. I'm very interested to see where this story plays out. To see zodiark and hydalen interact. or how we react to Hydalen now.
Spoiler alert: In the end i fell happy about him, when he encounter his friends he deserves it he deserves to be happy .. he's more like bro to my character

I think it's the prominent use of woodwind. KH's soundtrack _loves_ woodwind (for good reason, it has that comfy homely nostalgic feel), so whenever I hear it used heavily in a track I get KH vibes.
It might end up being the song we get at the very end of Shadowbringers. It's definitely the song I associate most with the expansion when I think of it.
That is my thoughts exactly. The way it shows up in Ultima and Omega makes me feel like that It was more of a boss fight for Omega and Ultima than for us.
It is indeed THE main ARR theme more than anything. This plays in the towns in Eorzea. This is the core theme of Torn From the Heavens (used in some superfates, a few trials, and CM). This is the core theme for Praetorium and The Burn. So yes, this is very much the Warrior of Light's (player's) theme.
Oliver Channelle Not this exact song, the leitmotif or "theme" if you will. Listen to this, then Praetorium's music, then Torn From The Heavens, and then teleport to Camp Bronze Lake. They, and more, are all different pieces using the same theme. In Heavensward, for example, you could hear its main theme in Coerthas West, Ishgard proper, Aetherochemical Facility music, Thordan fight, Dusk Vigil, and more. I confused the Dusk Vigil one for Amdapor a bit since its the Heavensward theme but with the same kind of sounds as Amdapor.

The scene where Ardbert's ghost appears with a clean axe just kills me every time
Shadowbringers was filled with amazing characters like Emet-Selch, G'raha Tia, and Feo Ul, as well as a tonne of minor characters who I cheered when seeing them all come together for the giant talos, but Ardbert by far was the best.
@@Darkmage1293 My response to Hydaelyn on the boat to Old Sharlayan: "I can trust your words no longer."
"Everything we did. Everything we gave. What was it for?"
Spoiler alert:
In the end i fell happy about him, when he encounter his friends he deserves it he deserves to be happy .. he's more like bro to my character
Opa um Brasileiro !
This is my favorite song from Shadowbringers and wow it is emotional
"Listen well, all o' ye! Since the signin' o' the Galadion Accord, we all of us have been a part o' the same crew. The crew o' the good ship, Limsa Lominsa. At the helm o' that ship is the Admiral, an' 'tis _she_ who decides where we sail. Was I not clear on that point? Or did ye forget whose deck ye stand on? Nay?
*_THEN WHAT IN THE SEVEN 'ELLS'RE YE PLAYIN' AT!!?_* "
Oh I remember that part. Somebody recruit that man and make him a goddamn Drill Instructor!
I like how in heavensword when Ardbert said that his world was on the brink of destruction and need to destroy the source to do it I was like FUCK THAT….now after playing shadowbringer I’m like fuck…..I feel very sorry for him. Thank god the WOL/WOD actual was like I need to save this world too
This theme makes me really sad for some reason ;-;
Sad but also a bit hopeful... and isn't that just perfect for his story?
@@WintermothStudios Hope seems to be the biggest theme of Shadowbringers.
it gives me constant goosebumps lol.
If we are Ardbert, then this is also our theme.
Given that "The Maker's Ruin" is our (The Warrior of Light's) theme, and this song is based on that, you're correct, they're both ours.
I cast down upon thee leaving out that beautiful voiceacting.
It hasn't even been a year and I feel nostalgia listening to this
Thank you for this!!!
*Plays Tiniest Violin*
*Tries not to cry*
*Cries a lot*
I genuinely feel sad n happy when i hear his theme sad for the fact that as a ghost he was crying for help that he knew no one will hear. But i am happy when i hear this theme cause it show even at the end despite the ppl we have ardbert was the one who team up with me to end the game
I'm gonna miss bro time with Ardbert.
Really reminds me of Kingdom Hearts for some reason. Either way, it's a beautiful piece.
I think it's the prominent use of woodwind. KH's soundtrack _loves_ woodwind (for good reason, it has that comfy homely nostalgic feel), so whenever I hear it used heavily in a track I get KH vibes.
god, ardbert was such a good character
Ardbert is Best boi
More Than Truth
Not gonna lie, it's going to be pretty damn hard to top this expac...where the hell do we go from here?
Garlemald probably. If Ishikawa continues writing, you know it will be good.
@@BradleyMcCloud I was actually thinking it will be Garlemald as well. That seems to be the direction the narrative is heading.
@@Madmonkeman Especially after 5.1's MSQ....holy shit.
To the moon, bois.
@@tofuklops8159 Da mooooooooooon!
By the 12! make this an orchestra roll! When I get a house I'm making this the BGM and never changing it back
I use Dragonsong myself. As a sort of constant "memorial" for Haurchefant.
It might end up being the song we get at the very end of Shadowbringers. It's definitely the song I associate most with the expansion when I think of it.
I can't believe this isn't an Orchestrion Roll yet!
It took me until now to realize that this song's a remix of the Ultima Weapon battle theme (The Maker's Ruin).
RIP Ardbert - 2019
I would have also classed this as "The Warrior of Light" Theme
That is my thoughts exactly. The way it shows up in Ultima and Omega makes me feel like that It was more of a boss fight for Omega and Ultima than for us.
It is indeed THE main ARR theme more than anything. This plays in the towns in Eorzea. This is the core theme of Torn From the Heavens (used in some superfates, a few trials, and CM). This is the core theme for Praetorium and The Burn. So yes, this is very much the Warrior of Light's (player's) theme.
@@jaeusa160 I'm struggling to remember where this song turns up in town themes or A Land Long Dead, would you mind pointing it out to me?
Ardbert.. 💖
Is called "More Than Truth"
Thank you! I've been trying to find the name for this song forever!
Me, listening to this for the first time: . . .
_thats fucking ultima weapon_
Took me until a few days ago to realize this is Makers Ruin slowed down.
Let us imagine that the laws of reality are again undone, and the world faces true annihilation. Do you honestly believe that half your number would sacrifice themselves to save the other?!
OF COURSE THEY WOULDN'T!!!
Can't even trust the light anymore.
This is the song that plays on the Star Ruby and Star Sapphire music boxes, I've been trying to figure it out for days now.
Which is also a reprise of "The Maker's Ruin", yeah.

I wish there is more story bout how ardbeth and his comrade causing the flood... i'm dying to know it...
Make sure you do all of the role quests
@@futuredux by actual scene of it. Not by story telling. You know our bad habbit heroes. Peeking to someone memory by headaches 😂
@@adityanoviant8180 more like invasion of privacy, but for a good reason
I know, this expansion actually made me want a spin-off game about that!
The fucking makers ruin... The way they turned it into a nostalgic/sad song with the notes of hope hidden inside of it is fucking amazing
Ardbert
tfw one of the best ffxiv expansions is just a side story and stormblood never ended
The moment when you just think he could've appeared when you're changing your clothes. >.<
Also your character looks a lot like me!
It's fine. We're soulmates.
He was always there, even when you're changing clothes.
Ardbert♥
love that armor you have.were did you get it from Reitsuna
Uh WHAT armor are you wearing because GOD DAMN it looks so cool!
