I love how Ruyi’s mother first asked her if she was being treated well by the emperor. It really shows that all she wanted was for Ruyi to be loved and happy.

I love how this story shows the difference in mothers and how it is reflected in their daughters feelings about their positions, insecure(first empress) secure( Ruyi) overly secure(Wei Yanwan)..
I love at the end how almost childish Ruyi sounded to her mom about not eating any sour foods, like gentle teasing only a parent and offspring can enjoy.
I love the show of mutual love and respect between Ruyi and her mother. Ruyi greeted her mother as a daughter would, while her mother greeted her while ackowledging her daughter's position as Empress.
You can tell by their mothers how different langhua/first empress, ruyi, and ling are. Langhua’s fuca mother was insecure, calculating, and anxious leading her daughter to become the same. Ling’s mother was selfish, greedy, cold, and obnoxious leading her daughter to become the same. Meanwhile Ruyi’s mother is loving, respectful, wise, and considerate of her daughter. Look how Ruyi turned out!! No wonder Ruyi’s always so kind and fair to everyone around her. Her mother taught her well. She had a good upbringing.

I think is a greeting between mother and daugther, maybe a secret rule for women at that time
This is a form of Manchurian greeting. In Chinese it is called 抱腰贴面大礼 (Greeting by hugging the waist). Its a form of informal greeting and is usually done between close immediate relatives among the Manchurian people.

Why first empress wore different hairstyle similar to other in harem, but Ruyi is always wearing this crown headpiece? Is it related to clan tradition or just that fashion changed?
artistic liberties, they just choose what looks good on certain actor I think, also to illustrate the characters as individuals (and their story progression).
The costume and hairstyles in Ruyi are not very accurate (though it's hard to be accurate since the non-ceremonial attire of that period is not very well documented) Yanxi palace is somewhat better to represent the realsistic court fashion of that specific era.
@@SwimmerPrince im not sure, I see this opinion in comments every time but (at least those I watched) chinese creators said in their videos it is actually this drama that seems more ocurate in fashion. Yanxi completly failed the dress of the emperor as his dragon doesnt have enough claws, or mention those collars werr not worn or worn just by certain clans, etc. Even the stylist from the Ruyi drama said they used real historical drawings to do replicas of the dresses
Just there are 2 types of hairstyles, and Ruyi preferred this type more than the other. There's nothing related to clan tradition, just personal preferences only.

感觉甄嬛的母亲更有智慧，也更稳重。如懿的额娘感觉很单纯很可爱，不像有心机的人，所以如懿也凡事不爱计较，还是嬛嬛这种有仇必报的人过的比较好。
如懿太注重与皇帝的感情，她不适合在宫里长久生活，皇宫这种地方活下来的都是甄嬛这种不在意君心并且看透君心的。但是如懿在乎，而她这样注定不能走到最后。
