[Introduction] Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace is a Chinese television series, also known as Palacial Dramas, based on a novel, Hou Gong Ru Yi Zhuan, by Liu Lianzi. And it's also a continuation of a story, named Betty Sun. The series chronicles the marriage of Qianlong Emperor and Haifa-Nara, the Step Empress from 1736 to 1766.

I never picked this up. I have read comments on many metaphors and details in this drama that I agree, there's so many layers and depth.

still cant believe the Emperor didnt promote Ruyi to a Noble Consort after wrongly sending her to the Cold Palace. He just gave her the most beautiful Palace for Consorts and thats all....
He could not do so openly cause it would be too obvious that he favoured her. Most of the harem was opposed to her.
At this point, the Empress and the Noble Consort were against Ruyi, and he knew so, that's why he couldn't openly favourite her. Emperor wasn't a asshole yet and was actually cunning intelligently

@@ebonyloveivory Except your argument doesn't work because when he fell head over heels (or must I say infatuated🙄)for Han Xiang Jian(Rong Fei) he clearly disregards every rules possible to woe her and give her explicit special treatment which doesn't go unnoticed by his harem and in turn prompted them to openly voice their discomfort over the preferential treatment Xiang Jian's been getting.Even the Empress Dowager heavily reprimands him for forcing Xiang Jian to be with him,a wise advice he never even consider or heed because he can't keep it all in his pants🤪And it doesn't stop there,numerous victims were made out of that situation.Chunhui Huang Gui Fei fell ill and died shortly afterward because of that,her first son Yong Zhang also got deeply implicated for criticizing Qianlong's biased treatment towards Xiang Jian,Ruyi...let's not even talk about her.She got the worst treatment out of all which I won't mention cause God knows it wouldn't be enough to list them all here.Ying Fei managed to got out of that debauchery situation unscathed only because she had her Barin clan to back her up.That's how assholery Qianlong has become😒😤And if we are to rewatch the drama again,I'm absolutely sure we'll find other small instances besides Xiang Jian's that pinpoints to Qianlong's contradictory behaviour.Says he loves Ruyi the most but then does another thing and breaks many rules for other consorts whom he's infatuated with for merely an adequately extended period of time.And the argument about Emperors being encouraged to love many women in the past so Ruyi or other genuine consorts had to bear with it doesn't work here because while it is true that all men at that period were taught to practice that,it doesn't mean they can just go around liking new women and giving them preferential treatment which will inevitably hurt your previous wives' feelings.A wise and good man at that time period should be able to do so without disregarding the feelings of their old wives because while they were taught to have many wives I believe they were also taught to be benevolent to all their wives and distribute just treatment to all of them
To be a noble consort, She needs to have kids first or have a very strong family/clan as supporter. Not everyone can be promoted.

So once the emperor eats the other ladies’s dumpling he will always dip it in the sauce to eat it. So it’s like Ruyi has the last words of the dumpling festival. She’s not lazy ... she just outsmarted them lol .
It becomes clear later on that the emperor praises her to incite others in the harem to hate and resent her. Part of his plan to make her life miserable as punishment for betraying Ruyi. Crafty man...and not very nice.

但是現在人發音嚴重不標準，ㄢㄤ(an ang)、ㄣㄥ (en eng)、ㄌㄖ(le re)分不清楚，應該變因該，精品變金品，影響變引響，肉念漏
嬪發ㄆㄧㄣˊ(en)，平發ㄆㄧㄥˊ(eng)，擔心妳也是ㄣ(en)跟ㄥ(eng) 搞不清楚，妳舉這樣的例，怕是會誤導人，讓已經錯誤的發音錯的更理所當然了......
