Nwaneri looked so freaking good in his short cameo. He definitely passed the eye test with flying colors. He is a BALLER!!
He looks a serious, serious talent. Not out of place at all, either at WHL or in a tough game like this where we were drawing until injury time. Incredible composure for a 17 year old along with talent.

Calafiore has completely changed the dynamic down the left hand side. He has brought back the Martinelli of old.
At last Gabriel Martinelli has finally got on the score sheet after his loss of form and those misses against villa Tottenham Atalanta and even today as well hopefully now that will give him more confidence especially with the help of the talented califuari and Timber
I think it's mostly down to the lack of our skipper that martinelli is getting more of the ball down the left!
@@dionfarrell4381 I Agree as fantastic a player Odegaard is his fault and it has been said many times that he doesn't seem for whatever reason to pass much down the left to Martinelli and that's not good
@@dionfarrell4381 That may be true, but regardless, Martinelli looked very much better today than he has done for quite some time now. Perhaps it's because of his lack of form that Odegaard tends to go down the right instead as that is the side that has been far more effective lately.
Martinelli started to struggle when Xhaka left - he never got that support on the left until now. Once Merino's fit he'll be back to being a monster again
Odegaard, Merino, White, Tomiyasu, Zinchenko all injured and people are crying for City because they miss Rodri and KDB

Merino is new , tomiyasu always injured and isn’t a starter , zinchenko is a liability . None of the players you mentioned are the best in the world in their position .

Ben White is injured...it's not that he "can't get in the team." That said, I don't know if he would get in the team. I'm really liking the Timber -Calafiore duo.

With a bit of luck they can rotate and all get playtime. It's almost unheard of how flexible we are in defense. White, Timber, Tomiyasu, Calafiori and even Kiwior can all play as CB or full backs, depending on opponent and injuries. That's an extremely well crafted defense.

Can you imagine had we didnt signed calafiori? Just 6 games in and we wouldve been in a crisis with these injuries. People dissed teta for buying him saying we shouldve signed an attacking player with the money instead but its been a masterstroke

A left footed left back and a right footed left wring paring is better. That's why Calaf backing Martinelli is better than Timber. I think Arteta intended Timber to be Ben's competitor for the RB while Calaf for the LB.
Another piece of the jigsaw, Arteta has vision for Nwaneri. He will be upbringing him to be Odegard's alternative.
Spot on on Calafiori . His movement is superb and his dribbling ability gives Arsenal a new dimension. He’s like a hybrid CB and midfielder. It’s a matter of time that we open up our offense and start banging goals. And Ethan is making a case that he should get some significant minutes. Add Merino and Odegaard and all of the sudden you have options galore.

cala is good offensively on the left but he needs to work on some things. He likes to be central too much on defence which is why we saw that 2nd goal happen (freak goal yes but still cala should have been there). He is too rash to go in for the tackle and risks being beaten, our defence is based around containment rather than duelling. We need him to control his man let our defence setup and then push for the ball. Both of these he will fix and then he will be a monster for us.

No one said there is a 'nu', but by breaking down the name in the way I suggested, you almost hit the spot - if not, you get much closer than some of the attempts I've come across. Examples - Waneari, Enwanyeri, Wanyeri and Nanweri, amongst others.

When Merino is ready to play, the whole left side is going to be electric. Calafiori already makes the difference on the left for Martinelli and adding Sterling in there as well causes more headaches for the opposition.
Odegaard returning will bring balance with action on the right side. We havent seen the best attacking dynamics from Arsenal yet

Nice commentary as usual, Alice- with such domination in portions of that game, Arsenal still need someone that can bury the ball in the back of the net. Their keeper was ridiculous and that 2nd Leicester goal-UFB, fair play to them. I still think the lack of a clinical striker will be this season's downfall in challenging 115-city, Liverpool, and Chelsea who look surprisingly good, otherwise the squad looks pretty complete. Serious question: who do you think Arteta will start at right and left back when White is fit? Who sits? IMO both Timber and Calafiori are as good or better defenders and significantly better creating attacking opportunities than Ben. But that’s just me,..

The way Arsenal managed the game was not as good as expected. The forward still needs to be clinical. Calafiori's team play and the way he goes forward is suberb but i still want to see his defensive qualities.
