Yet it would become a Pep vs Klopp rivalry just a couple of years later.
When it comes to the British media they clearly favour the 2 Manchester Clubs above anyone else.
If Sky, BBC, BT/TNT, and all the Newspapers all had their way it would be United and City the two dominating, with Arsenal and Chelsea just below them.
Out of the Big 6 Liverpool and Spurs are the two least liked by the British Media.
I think with Spurs is they are the Nickelback of Football clubs, they are just easy to banter at.
But I think the hatred of Liverpool from the British Media began with Hillsborough, The Sun blamed Liverpool supporters and everyone up at Merseyside were fucking fuming at The Sun and some parts of the Media for blaming the supporters, when it was the Hillsborough ground that was unsafe at the time.
And plus the media hated the domination of the league and Europe that Liverpool were doing in the 70’s and 80’s.
When they changed it to the Premier League in 1992 with Sky being the sole broadcaster at the time, and with United then dominating, Sky saw United as their club for the renamed league.
So yeah the media will only cover Liverpool when they are forced to.
I grew up watching football in the mid to late 00’s, and back then the British media rarely covered Liverpool unless they were forced to like, like Istanbul 2005, the 2006 FA Cup win, and the 08/09 season.

You can only beat what’s in front of you and nobody has outplayed us in any way as of yet. The best for me is how you can’t easily pick a MOTM each game. Konate, VVD, Grabenberch, Macca, Diaz, Jota, Gakpo, Salah wouldn’t swap them for anybody.

These players are now gelling as a team. Most have improved under the new gaffer. Exciting football.
The gap between virgil and the two pivots on the pitch is huge. It really pushes the opposition back. Love seeing players run with the ball, driving runs.
Jones is just a diff option and gets better with regular playing time. Some fans are fickle. We have two good teams in that squad now, with some fantastic academy talent along with that young lad from Chelsea. He looks special. Bet we see him play at some point.

Slot in terms of one on one management is getting better performances out of players who didn't really perform and weren't fully developed under Klopp. That's some impressive man management. The capability to improve players on an individual level.

I hope tonight was a one off as that was a dreadful watch. Gravenberch got MOTM by default as everyone else was awful. I find the dawdling with the ball to draw a press excruciating. Thought Diaz,Salah,Trent and Szobozlai were wasteful and played like they’d just met?!.
If this was a noticeable shift between styles let’s hope it was a conflict between two difference ideas due to new coaching. If this is a sign of things to come I can’t watch one more of those let alone 30+!!. Thankfully I missed the Forest game. This was a hard watch from minute one!.

VVD had his best game this season. Only thing that really annoys me about him, is that when he is near a players who is about to shoot, instead of standing square on and getting a block or tackle in, he turns around and bends over. I dont know why he tries to use his arse to block instead of just making a damn tackle. He did it for Wolves goal today as well if you watch it back.

I think he's been excellent since his return, a very tidy player. In fact I'd start him over Szob on current form.

As a Liverpool fan, I prefer to go under everyone's radar until it's too late. I know if we beat Arsenal or Man City, we will be on everyone's radar, so getting draws vs these teams while beating the rest is fine by me. Of course, I want to win every match, but I want zero pressure to be on Slot this first year. He is expected to deliver a trophy of some sort I think, so if we get league cup or FA cup + top 2 I'll take that, but hey if we can sneak by everyone's radar at take the title, fantastic. let them focus on Arteta. Personally, I'm not worried, I undervalue Arsenal because I deem them bottlers. I don't think Arteta will win a title as Arsenal manager. if he takes over Man City after Pep, he might though.
on the msatch yesterday though.. The only player who didn't play well was Szoboslai. 'm not sure what is wrong with the guy, maybe the 10 role doesn't suit him? there is a good player in there, he just doesn't show himself.

Not sure if MSM is disregarding LIverpool. I think everyone is showing a bit of excitement, but holding back too as Liverpool hasn't proven themselves in the PL against the top teams. And this performance is where one could have a bit of doubt.
I am a Liverpool fan, but am not over the cloud over being "top of the league" at this point of time. Liverpool had the longest period sitting at the top of the league last season, and we ended up third.
October would be the tough for the boys, where the schedule is tight, and we'll be facing the hardest test of the season yet.
And for those Liverpool fans who continuously say that the transition from Klopp to Slot is like the transition from Shankly to Paisley, please stop. I respect and love Klopp, but to compare him to the great Bill Shankly is an insult to Shankly.
And Slot is very, very far away from being a second-coming of Paisley. He still has a long way to prove himself to earn that comparison.

As you mentioned last week, LFC needs a few more players to be added to the squad to have better depth to fight for the title. At the moment, LFC is still not consistent enough. Some games are good, some bad. Some of our younger players are also not experienced enough. LFC has also not played the top teams yet. Better for LFC to be the underdogs for now.😊
But really do they .? They may not have been busy in the transfer market.uet they have had three players rise up from the academy to answer the same issues.npw it all depends upon injuries this season
@@minigrande1939 Somehow I don't think the players that came up from the academy have the experience to do that well against the bigger teams. I think they need a bit more game time to gain more experience to be better equipped. Some of them played in the Carabao Cup game against West Ham and they were not doing very well.
