Quick lore drop!
The death angels are from a harsh, soundless planet far from Earth, with many times the gravity. The environment is what caused their plated exoskeletons and strength to develop. On Earth, they can run up to 300 MPH, and hear things from miles away. Their heavy bodies are also why they can’t swim, as their bodies are very dense.
It is suggested that they don’t actually hunt prey, but simply lash out at anything that makes noise, as seen on the poster board in the first film, a sticky-note asks “Why don’t they eat what they kill?” In A Quiet Place: Day One, we see them finding a sort of alien plant and eating that, suggesting that they cannot eat anything but the food originally from their planet.
For an unknown reason, most likely a meteor impact, their planet was destroyed and jettisoned towards Earth, where they managed to survive for potentially tens of thousands, if not millions of years, until they crashed on Earth.

The death angels probably have one of the most complex and awesome origin stories for a monster that holds up just as well without one, absolutely going down in history as one of the coolest modern horror monsters, I know for sure they’re one of my favourite monsters hands down

Alright, my question is, what is the evolutionary benefit of developing any ability for hearing, let alone the niche they fulfill, on a planet with presumably no atmosphere, as a vacuum is the only way sound could not exist on the planet? And given theyre supposedly herbivorous, why would they be specialized killing machines with crazy hearing?
Interesting, I was thinking we are made up of water so that explains that loop-hole, water isn't something they are deathly afraid of its just that they can't swim.

i'm glad the death angels are skill issued, it adds a new level of horror instead of getting insta-killed LMAO, booking it into the water once you notice it chasing you not knowing whether it can reach you or not felt horrifying... and the way they lurked in the cave without you knowing is so unsettling

It's pretty cool that these death angels actually drown as a gimmick with its own animation unlike the other horror mods that can't swim purely because they never get coded to
and those don't even really drown just- sit at the bottom of the late or ocean or whatever

ngl when combined with shaders and dynamic lights, The Dawn Era (a prehistoric animal mod) turns into nightmare fuel. ForgeLabs latest video being a good example, as combing deadly, smart, and fast predators with the primal fear of the dark and the unknown, is a horrific combo. Plus the ai is quite intelligent, and it is a quite polished mod
Add a voice chat mod and enable voice activation so the creatures can hear you and come after you. Also try to see if running water masks other noises you make

I know a youtuber whose doing a series on this mod and they DID add a mod that if they spoke the monsters could hear them, but had to remove it after 2 episodes cuz all the comments were ranting about how boring it was because they liked his commentary, and he even mentioned those two episodes tanked in views and viewtime cuz once he posted on the screen about the mod alot of people clicked off according to video analytics so I don't think it'd be wise to do that.
Some good horror mods I would recommend are "Hardcore Darkness" and "From the shadows"

here's a small yet helpful tip
at the start in the village there was a bell u could use that as some eort of distraction to the death angles with some observers and redstone ye tried that before abd is mostly effective in dire situations plus make sure to atleast have a teleporter in ur base
and some mod recommendations:
since ur gonna add other horror mods u might as well upgrade ur arsenal with timeless and classics gun mod and u can add the camera mod if u want

by the way, you should add the ''Anomaly'' mod as 1. he doesnt attack if you dont look at him 2. he can be used to distract the death angels :P

What you should do is terraform the levels of land around the island so if you jump into the water it's just a straight wall down so the DA can't just walk around on the bottom when they sink and straight up walk towards your base without you realising. (I don't know if that's a thing they do but considering that they can't heard blocks breaking in water it's better to try and not risk a really bad surprise later)
Add butcher's delight. It makes it so that most creatures drop a carcass which has to be cooked to give the cooked meat. It's a nice touch to a horror modpack

A really cool thing to add is any turret mod. Most turrets from turret mods aim on hostile creatures including horror monsters, and will beam them. In one that I played, there was a rail gun that could absolutely destroy entities. This would be a really cool countermeasure. If you want the mod name just reply and i'll find it
Does it do armor piercing damage because the death Angels don’t take damage to anything other than the hearing aid
@@theexopmarker5845 Monsters that are aggravated by the turrets also attempt to attack them, so you could lure all of the monsters into the water with it as well, and use it as a distraction.

idk if you played it yet but the goatman is good and spawns alot and doesnt instant kill with protec 4 full diomand he does 0,5 hearts damage and a dweller thats called john is really fast,can spawn in a small medium and a big version that is really fast and it deespawns in 3 days

You should try the gigeresque mod Vivilly. The aliens won't spawn naturally in the mod but you can find them in dungeons which are filled with them.
This one is a really good horror mod. It actually stresses me out and makes me uneasy watching. I literally held my breath when a few of them went in the cave with you. 😂The other mods stressed me for a sec, but got less and less scary.

This is a good video vivilly good job. The death angels are cool mods. But you asked in the video who uses maps, and I actually do. I use them to place points on the original map to remember where things I find are so I don't get lost.
