      Same dude ! Around 15 years ago I got into surfing after a trip to south-west France and was addicted to Laird Hamilton and big surf videos.
      I stopped following after a few years.
      Because of the surf contest in Olympic Games I started to watch some videos again and stumbled randomly on this one.. As soon as the song started I felt a big rush of nostalgia.

    Dude, I get teary eyed watching this. Laird is out of this world. Dude pops ollies from one level down to another like he’s skating a 12 stair. And moves to the side like he’s bombing a hill in s.f. Not for nuthin laird should get skater of the year on principle. So much love and respect for this dude. The universe see’s this and smiles.

    This is one of best edited and choreographed surf vids ever. Come to think of it, surfing is so natural with music, it is dancing with the ocean vibrations. But that jam and laird's jump at .26 is pure synchronicity.

    Wow, he really is amazing. The MJ of surfing for sure. What I would give to see him and Duke surfing big waves together! I don't think anybody alive rides a wave with his harmony, technique and grace. When he drops in he becomes part of the wave itself. Having had the privilege of seeing him ride in person is really the only way you can do justice for truly appreciating this man's skill. Greatest of all time. No doubt about it.

      That's not dangerous. What's the worst that could happen, he falls of and gets a little wet! Big deal!

      MrSamywammy just wet? I dont think so, the wave will roll him around like he is inside a washing machine. The logical flaw in your statement sir is oversimplification or understatement.

    • @TheRachelhuss
      @TheRachelhuss 10 лет назад +15

      MrSamywammy When you wipe out from a wave it feels like something is wringing you out and your underwater for up to 3 minutes if your a big wave surfer, you arm can pop out, you can get whip lash and you can get knocked out. Your a fool for thinking that you get a little wet. But Laird Hamilton is the greatest big wave surfer of all time. He knows what hes doing.

    • @acacacayuGDAGCX
      @acacacayuGDAGCX 11 лет назад +18

      his feet are strapped to the board because the jet ski pulls him on the wave. when a wave is really big and steep you can't just swim with it, also at that speed wax is not enough to keep yoir feet on the board. Also i don't think they smoke weed ahaha. you need good lungs to surf a 50ft wave or to be a professional surfer

    Half of the waves in this video are hands down some the biggest waves ever surfed. I had one of the biggest surfs in my life today and this makes the biggest wave I caught look like a ripple. And he doesn't just surf them, he is non-stop styling. He surfs the shit out of them. I couldn't agree more with mistermetaldrummer's comment - Laird Hamilton is without doubt the greatest big wave surfer there has ever been.
