As for the Sony comparison, I did get to experience both rooms back to back, and Sony should be straight up embarrassed to put that product against the JVCs. This was especially evident in the Ready Player One clip that was demoed in both rooms. Shadow detail and HDR were rendered beautifully on the NZ9. On the xw6000es (it was a 7000 dialed back to 6000 specs) all shadow detail was crushed to oblivion. The shot where King Kong is running along the road with the bright sky behind him was especially telling. You got all of the detail of his face, chest, fur etc. on the JVC. On the Sony he was an indistinct black blob. I went home and watched the same clip on my 7 year old JVC x750r with Lumagen and I would take that combo over the $12k Sony on its own any day of the week despite the lesser brightness. I think the only open question is Sony with external DTM versus JVC. I know they did a Sony and an Epson with MadVR at MWAVE, but it was hard to tell from the video and commentary how the chips fell on those versus the JVC. There seemed to be differing opinions. Would be very interesting to see Sony xw5000es and Epson LS12000 with a Lumagen vs the JVC NZ7 without as those would all come in at a similar price point for entry level laser with good DTM. Also interested to compare the xw7000es and NZ9 with Lumagen or MadVR on both and see what you get at the top of the ranges.
Yeah I surely missed out indeed. So wanted to go to this show but unfortunately I couldn’t make it. Good to know they’ll do it again next year and with good health I’ll be there for sure. Thanks for the video.
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist Bummer. Maybe I’ll get a chance to meet you at another event. I just got my 1723 Center S from Arendal. Gonna be slowing upgrading my system. Thanks for your video bro!

Thanks for hosting the great event. Any chance of hosting in Charlotte at some point or is the plan to do Raleigh every time?
@@Zachary_Setzer You are welcome! It will be in Raleigh next year.
Cody has the best voice. Period. He should be doing voice-over work. Facts ❤️
He really does. It’s like these “ASMR” channels.
😂😂 Thank you!
Thanks!
Yeah you should do audible books man. Seriously

Thanks for sharing!! I really regret seeing both back to back! But from what I saw of the NZ9 it was legit!
I have the RS4100 with a MadVR and the performance is nothing short of spectacular 😍
Nice!!!!
Does anyone have experience with this and the older JVC RS620/640? Thinking of upgrading… thanks!
I’ll wait for 1024K video. 😆
You'll die of old age first.
I need an NZ9. Great video!
You and me both! It was so nice meeting and talking to you. Let's stay in touch!😁

6:28 - No it won't. 4K scaled to 8K is not 8K.
