    We are in Spring here so everything is growing like crazy, but we should prepare for Summer now (shade from the hot sun and deep mulch)

    The problem with Lives is, someone asks a question, you (I) want to ask
    a follow up to the question. By the time it's posted the presenter has moved
    onto a different topic/question. Seen it happen all too often. Multiple channels.
    That and in time they just turn into a chat fest between the same bunch
    every episode. At least if it's 2 separate channels, and the "Live" is kept
    active, it can be viewed at a later time and comment there.

    Greetings from New Zealand!
    I have to say, it doesn't make sense unsubscribing from a channel just because they do livestreaming. If you don't want to watch it, then don't watch it, but why unsubscibe? I subscribe to a couple channels that do livestreaming, and I rarely watch the livestreams. Some of the channels that I subscribe to also do product reviews, and either I'm not interested in those products, or we just don't get them here, so I just skip those videos too. I also subscribe to channels where the people have different religious views than I do, or different political views, but their info on the topics I subscribe to them for is great, so I just ignore any religious or political references. I don't unsubscibe.
    Nobody, and no channel, is ever going to be 100% what you want 100% of the time. That is like deciding a friend isn't a friend any more because they take an interest is something you aren't interested in. "Sorry dude, you have taken up bike riding and I don't like riding bikes, so our 10 yrs of friendship is done. I don't ever want to see you again". Ridiculous. Some people really need to put their big boy/girl pants on and grow up!
    I love your channel Tony, and I'm sorry you have to deal with people like that. But there are a lot of us out there who do appreciate your work 😊 Cheers.

    They all have far too many cells for the way I grow. I buy packs of Wilko 24x cells, preferably end of season with 50 to 75% off, and I immediately cut each of them into four pieces each consisting of 4 cells.
    I use them for both seed sowing and transplants, either 6x same variety, or 6 different, and the advantage of smaller sections is more efficient use of heat mats and growlights because as soon as those 6 cells have germinated, been transplanted, moved on, etc., their space is immediately occupied by another section of 6 cells. With say 30x cell trays there would be loads of wasted space on my heat mats/under lights until the whole 30 cells had been delt with.
    My 'flimsy' cells last way longer than 2 years, more like 6, and as they deteriorate I'll repair by doubling up with smaller damaged sections pushed into them. I use this to my advantage in making a saving in plastic labels, with the repair section and original containing different seeds/seedlings, but each piece only requiring 1 label.
    Earlier this week I found a garden centre selling two packs of really heavy duty/dishwasher safe Garland 24x cell inserts for £1.49 /75p each (reduced from £5.99) so I'm giving those a try for those situations where they're suitable for multiple seeds/plants that don't require heated propagators or growlights.

    • @David_Bell_growing
      @David_Bell_growing Год назад

      @@simplifygardening Still way too big as there's no way I'd be sowing that number of varieties that would all germinate and require transplanting on the same day(s), nor different transplant varieties that could be transplanted simultaneously, meaning a waste of now very expensive space on heat mats under grow lights. I don't want to waste a load of expensive energy both heating and lighting potentially 75% of the area of my heat mats and grow lights.

    Disappointing video really .Wholly dedicated to advertorial/ income content. Obviously you need to make a quid Tony, but don't lose your credibility by endorsing goods that give you "kickbacks" for overpriced products that have easily accessed competitive alternatives! To pay 15 quid for a mass produced simple seedling tray is ridiculously expensive,,,,, even in today's crazy times of high inflation etc.! I really liked the "old" Tony vids ..... but if your future is about advertorials, then i too will unsub, your channel. There are numerous GREAT new channels available now that utilize product endorsements ..... and acknowledge such .... BUT these products are GENUINE GREAT VALUE usually, and represent WIN/WIN/WIN for all participants! I view this promotion as a clear WIN/ WIN and one big RIPOFF!!

      Keith I am very sorry you feel that way. However just for reference Not one penny exchanged hands for this video. I truly believe that these trays are value for money. Sure they are an investment and not for everyone but they are economical over the long term as the quantity shows you won’t be buying new ones all the time. It’s just like why some people pay huge amounts more for a bmw when a Skoda gets them to the same place. You do get what you pay for. If you feel my channel is no longer for you then as you say there are plenty of alternative good channels. But in all fairness I ensure that my videos are packed with Free information for all. Occasionally I promote products from a sponsor which is required to help find the channel for the equipment and more importantly the time I invest to bring the content to you. It is not a point and shoot video and each 10 min video takes nearly a week of work. You are not forced to buy a product and although this video is not for you plenty of people have enjoyed it and purchased the product so it was for them. Not every video I make will please all people no matter how much I try. I hope you have a great day
