I will always love that Season 3's characters were literally just "Ultimate Straight Man", "Ultimate Straight Woman", "Ultimate Husband Girl", and "Ultimate Wife Guy"
"Extras" is a bit christmasy because Elphelt's bday is dec 25th. The song refrences all i want for christmas and amazing grace. Also symphony refrences "we dont need no education" for its mid and final harmony.
Just a quick note: the Just Lean video has many incorrect lyrics as it was made the day the song was released, when we were still theorizing what the engrish was even trying to imply.
Naoki and Aisha are both Japanese, Aisha can speak English pretty perfectly tho, but Naoki, outside of him talking to ppl online (and in the songs of course) I've only ever seen him speak Japanese, so he might not have that great English, or he just is more comfortable speaking Japanese understandably. The person who writes the lyrics, Daisuke Ishiwatari, is also Japanese, and I've never heard him speak that much English either but he was raised in South Africa so he probably understands at least? I dunno how the lyrics get written but my guess is that it's not translated from Japanese, he just writes them in English to the best of his ability. Also I haven't gotten to her point in the video yet but Molly Daisy is the only singer on Extras and she's American she's from California. Extras is the only song shes done for Guilty Gear and it's the only song that isn't Naoki or Aisha
If Daisuke wrote songs in Japanese I think we would have gotten Japanese version at some point. Also, male vocals in Millia's theme are not actually Naoki, but man named Jamison Boaz, which I don't think many people know.
@GrzegorzSobkowicz I was thinking that too, but also it could be just a creative decision to have them in English only, if my guess is indeed wrong. And yeah I know about Jamison Boaz, not many people do, but yeah he's never led a song he's always just done backing parts or like speech sections. He could probably kill it on like a Venom theme as the lead tho lowkey
It's so weird, because Naoki's English sometimes is so clear and understandable. Like in Chipp's theme for example. That man just chooses not to, I swear
If I remember correctly, the lyrics are written in Japanese and then adapted into English by different people. Which would actually explain why certain songs have near perfect English and others sound awkward. The ones adapted by Junya C. Motomura are usually the best ones in terms of comprehension. The "C" stands for Christopher, so I'm guessing he's bilingual.
The newest songs ‘Radiant Dawn’ and ‘Get Over Nightmares’ are really good, but ‘Rock Parade’, ‘Like A Weed Naturally As A Matter Of Course’, and ‘Crawl’ are my personal favorites
yes, the vocals of extras was done by Molly Daisy. the her last name is Daisy and she sounds shes about to call in the hounds in COD zombies. real vocal skill
Something I love about GG character themes is that they all tell a story. The Kiss of Death is about Goldlewis knowing that he's a dog of the government(bark and bark) and hating that fact. Ups and Downs is about Slayer learning to come to terms with his immortality and focus on the good things in life. Also yes, it's the same woman singing both vocal styles in Extras. Her name is Molly Daisy Scarpine, and she has RANGE.
This was really fun to watch! Just to give some more info on Guilty Gear, every single song is written and composed by the creator and director of the entire franchise: Daisuke Ishiwatari! Would love to see you guys react to the following Guilty Gear songs: "The Gravity", "Roar of the Spark", "Necessary Discrepancy" and the titular theme of the game, "Smell of the Game" if you guys haven't reacted to them yet!
I genuinely found your channel only through the first GGS reaction you did. And I have been peeking in and out every few weeks waiting for another one. Cheers from Germany! Love your vibe. (And the way you vibe yourself)
For me it sounds more like there was a bar fight going and the owner just came out from behind the bar with a pump shotgun that he just racked and is staring the whole room down like he’ll obliterate the next person stupid enough to make another move.
It's cool you guys also talk a bit about the character's design along with the stuff you're seeing on screen and how it fits them. The music is about them after all
So A.B.A. and Paracelsus are the two characters you see in the song Symphony. A.B.A. is the woman who is an artificial lifeform, a homunculus created by alchemist but left abandoned in their old lab. Paracelsus is the giant key who is a cursed weapon, a demon bound into what use to be an axe that causes its wielder to fly into a berserk rage and feed the axe's thirst for blood. The alchemists were studying the axe in an attempt to replicate it and so had it within the lab. A.B.A. meets Paracelsus and they develop a bond with each other, with A.B.A. growing attached and seeing Paracelsus as the key to her future and Paracelsus wanting A.B.A. to find him a real living body for him to possess. Over time, they've each affected the other, with Paracelsus transforming his form from an axe to a key and A.B.A. adapting to Paracelsus's curse from homicidal rage into obsession and jealousy about Paracelsus. Basically, now A.B.A. becomes engaged when she believes people to be trying to take Paracelsus away from her or attempting to get close to him, while Paracelsus has been unconsciously worn down by A.B.A. to the point where he is trying to please her or make her happy, even though he is a bloodthirsty demon who wants to steal someone's body. So, in short, A.B.A. tends to pick fights now over what amount to misunderstandings while trying to monopolize Paracelsus's thoughts while Paracelsus is attempting to please her by changing his form or limiting the body he would accept to one she finds acceptable.
I loved you guys's other Guilty Gear videos I was just thinking about y'all the other day, glad this is here now and you covered a lot of my faves this time! Goldlewis is the US secretary of defense, and his strength is said to be equivalent to the entire sectet service combined. This man caught an RPG out the air like he was palming a football. His hobby is collecting cryptids, and his coffin has an alien in it, but he insists it's just a cryptid, for some reason he doesn't actually believe in aliens. He's known to get kinda pushy when he meets a character like Faust who he sees as a cryptid, or characters like Bridget, Testament, Ramlethal, anybody who has some kind of magic familiar with them, cuz he sees those as cryptids too. Recently he got some new intro dialogue for when he fights Slayer, and yeah of course he's trying to capture that guy lol, which you'll find out is crazy once I get to Slayer in this comment. Bridget was born part of a set of twin boys to an aristocratic family in a town that had a superstition about same sex twins bringing misfortune, and as such the younger of the two would have to be put to death or exiled. Obviously her parents didn't want either option so they raised her as a girl instead. She wasn't necessarily bothered by this but you can imagine her parents still felt guilty, so to try to fix things when she turned 13 she set out from the village with the goal of making a fortune while presenting as a man to shatter the stigma. By the time of Strive she had succeeded, becoming one of the most successful bounty hunters in the whole world, but something felt wrong. She was afraid of what would happen to the village if she ended up preferring being a girl after all this, but through some heart to hearts with Goldlewis and Ky she decided that she wasn't going to let anyone affect who she is but herself, and proclaimed that she is in fact a girl. Bridget is my main and as a trans person she's what finally properly brought me into the series and I'm so happy for that because this has become my favorite videogame series of all time. She's awesome. Something not too many people know about Johnny is that his dad was killed when he was a kid leaving him orphaned. He learned the art of iaido to be able to fend for himself but his realization that not everyone could be as naturally strong as him led him to start the Jellyfish Pirates. He went around adopting orphaned girls and adding them to his crew and they're named for every month of the year, including May who has an unfortunate one sided crush on him. He sees them all as his real daughters and under his macho facade he would give anything to protect all of them. With women who AREN'T his daughters though he's a real womanizer. Him and his crew do the normal Robinhood thing of steal from the rich give to the poor, but they've also been big contributors in multiple major events in the world of Guilty Gear. Elphelt is a Valentine, an artificial lifeform created by The Universal Will. Ramlethal is her sister. The Universal Will is a robot created by The Original, aka the man who discovered magic and introduced it to humanity. The Universal Wills objective was to find everlasting peace for humanity, but it turned on humanity after concluding that humanity did not yet exist, and the humans that are here now are just redundancies to be erased to make way for the true humanity. TUW assumed the form of a human named Ariels and created El and Ram to facilitate her plan, but they both rebelled eventually against her and became good friends with Ky's son, Sin. Ariels kidnapped Elphelt in turn because she was still needed, but in the end Sol and gang rescued her and defeated Ariels. Extras is mainly about what happens *after* all that. After the dust settled El and Ram both became employed under the Illryian government, but Elphelt couldn't keep up with her work which filled her with guilt causing her to run away, and ended up finding her true calling with death metal music. Ky and Dizzy, who had become essentially their adoptive dad and mom, are supportive which is cute. Her band is called Speothos Venaticus (scientific name for a bush dog, which she is inexplicably obsessed with lol). She's also obsessed with getting married, she'll hound basically any man (or even sometimes women) she meets to get them to marry her. In the first game she was in she wore a revealing wedding dress that became torn when she was kidnapped, but she's left behind that aesthetic but her actions still remain, it's just a funny quirk and it's not her only trait obviously. A.B.A's hair is not oxidized copper, that's just a fan theory. The devs quickly heard about it and in an interview they said they liked the idea but nah she just dyed her hair that color because she's been getting more into fashion and beauty stuff. The person who made that theory started working overtime to stop it from being spread after the developers clarified it lol. A.B.A is a humunculus, a different type of artificial human completely unrelated to Valentines! Humunculi come from alchemy, an example of a humunculus most people would know would be Frankensteins Monster, and in fact the key going through her head is a nod to the screws in Frankensteins Monsters head. She was created by a great alchemist named Paracelsus but when she awoke the whole laboratory, named Flask/Frasco was abandoned. She spent 10 years living there collecting keys until she decided to leave and see the world, which is when she met Flament Nagel, a sentient, demonic axe shaped like a key, who she immediately fell in love with and took as her husband, regardless of how he actually felt. The true nature of Flament Nagel is that it has the power to control its wielder, using that power to spill blood to sustain itself until the wielder dies as well. He caused carnage in the past. In Strive he says that he did control her at some points to get what he needed but in the past it was assumed he couldn't control her for some reason, probably due to her nature as a humunculus. Anyways, she renamed him to Paracelsus and they've been travelling together for ages, but their relationship wasn't the healthiest. She gets enraged and jealous at any other warrior that takes interest in him. Ironically she ended up causing Paracelsus to mellow out over the years. In Strive their story starts out as more of the same but eventually they had an honest conversation about it and even though A.B.A felt guilty and tried to leave him, Paracelsus said they should just try to be better and that he likes being with her. Then he turns blue... In order to prove that they're both capable of change... It's cute in context. This character was really obscure before coming into Strive but now she's so fleshed out and one of the most popular characters in the community, I think she got either 1st or 2nd on the last popularity poll, I think that's sick. Strive became the Guilty Gear with the biggest roster semi recently, right now the count is at 29 with at least 3 more on the way next year. So yeah pretty beefy roster. Based on what you've already heard, my recommendations would be The Hourglass, The Circle, Radiant Dawn, Alone Infection, and Requiem. As a vampire, Slayer is kinda hilarious in his OPness. He's unbothered by sunlight, he's been staked in the heart and just, walked it off, and I assume he's probably ok with flowing water and thresholds lol. He's stupidly strong, way above almost anybody else, and he loves a good spar. He founded the Assasins Guild, both to protect the people from corrupt leaders, but also to find a slick way to feed himself, he is a vampire after all. But he left the Guild after he met his now wife Sharon, who by the way is also effectively immortal. She has a glitch in her universal code that seemingly makes her immune to consequence. Slayer can suck her dry until she's just a bag of bones and she'll be fine a moment later. Slayer also loves haiku and practices strict Dandyism, dude is fab. So yeah Goldlewis beefing with him is pretty funny, but honestly I could see Goldlewis being a match for him. We don't have many feats for Goldlewis yet but what we do have of him paints a definite picture. Slayers greatest rival is another world leader, Gabriel, president of Zepp, the country Potemkin is from. Gabriel is the only person Slayer sees as a true rival, and you can definently see why, Gabriel soloed Bedman in Xrd meanwhile nobody else could stand up to him one-on-one. Gabriel needs to be playable soon fr...
Ayo Xrd got some fire tracks: Ride the Fire, Heavy Day, Jack a Dandy, Lily of Steel. I've been listening to it almost everyday for the last month or even more. Quite a few good sombre/emotional songs too, not just hard rock and metal like All I Can Do and Coming Home
I love how "Extras" samples 'Amazing Grace' in one part, and also sounds Christmas-like because the character Elphelt was born on Christmas. She also has a huge crush on Nagoriyuki
I love that despite Naoki straight up saying what the lyrics are, pretty much every single source you find online will have different lyrics for Just Lean.
Elphelt was a much more overt Guns n' Roses reference in her debut game, quite literally hitting you over the head with it in some attacks swinging around a bouquet of roses, and her instakill turning the area into a flower field if she wasn't zoning you out with a sniper rifle, shotgun?, and pistol
Extras is sung entirely my Molly Daisy Scarpine, who is a woman (duh), and she sings both the fry portions of the song, and the conventionally sung parts
The town inside me is about the Bridget coming ti terms with her sexuality.she was originally born a boy woth a twin brother, but was raised as a girl so she wouldn't be killed(its complicated). Now she realizes that she's happy considering herself a girl
Im always so surprised how few people realize that Bridget is cutting herself off before thinking too deeply about why she is unfulfilled. "I never found out what it was I- Its my stress for sure" "I never found out what it was I- I hate the alarm clock I chose" Shes saying goofy random things because it is literally a tangent in her thought process. When she finally realizes what her problem is, notice she doesn't say something random before the chorus, but rather "I know who you are; I'm not leaving you again." By interrupting her own voice inside her with the random tangents, she was "leaving" them to be "watching from afar."
Banger! I love all the songs you heard here a ton, but I want to add that the lyric videos youve been watching arent 100% correct, alot of them were just interpretation right after the songs came out, before official lyrics are known, often Naoki (the singer) will go on twitter and say something like "well i think the lyrics are something like this, no?" and drop the presumably official lyrics, Daisuke Ishiwatari (the creator of the Guilty Gear series) is the one composing, and writing the lyrics though. Perfect example: Just Lean's lyric doesn't go "Just lean, she was told", but rather "Just lean, it's anyone's call" (referencing gambling, because Johnny is a really lucky gambling man) In Goldlewis' theme, instead of "I'm ready for this work that I do" it's "I'm ready for this, what about you?", both of which work, but still. and in Slayer's theme the lines "My friend enjoys courage for the plate" "Holding a platinum knife with soft fire glow" "What he misses is that he cannot be overthrown" are instead "My friend enjoys paradise for the palate" "Holding a platinum knife with sapphire gloves" "What he needs is an economic overthrow" Hard to catch those with Naoki's vocalizations at times, but man do they go hard My favorites are (in order) Goldlewis' theme, Bedman?'s theme (The Circle), and Slayer's theme with slayer being my fav, glad you guys enjoyed them! Many people will choose their favorite tracks to listen to even if its not their character's theme
Huh, which Part would this be? Anyway, i think the Kiss of Death might be my favorite Theme from this Game, can’t say for certain why though, just like the grove I guess. Regardless, i can’t think of what you should do next, still i will look forward to see what you’ll cover. Speaking of which, i hope you do my BlazBlue Openings Playlist at some point.
WHY WOULD YOU SKIP THROUGH SYMPHONY. Was watching the whole video looking forward to my favorite strive song and my main character but you kept cutting the song. Very dissapointing :( Loved the other reactions though.
If you guys ever read this be ready to have your minds blown....Bridget is actually a boy lol Funny enough its because Bridget's a boy why he has fans....of varying....tastes lets just leave it at that lmao. But no yeah Bridget is a male just dresses as a girl always has in the series even. But no yeah not gonna lie the first character I was never a fan of design wise, etc but his theme song is fire has a jazzy feel to it and I do love me rock/metal songs that mix in jazz a bit I mean Vriska's themes had traces of that too (she's a character from Homestuck a web comic from back in the day that had alot of good bangers as well).
Slayer: “Well, would you look at the time.”
The Clock: *all the numbers are replaced with “I love my wife”*
I will always love that Season 3's characters were literally just "Ultimate Straight Man", "Ultimate Straight Woman", "Ultimate Husband Girl", and "Ultimate Wife Guy"
@@jameji_phdto be so honest slayer does NOT look straight (his name is slayer)
@Pickletron275 I believe they were talking about Johnny for that one. Slayer is Wife Guy, but almost certainly explored in his time on earth.
"Extras" is a bit christmasy because Elphelt's bday is dec 25th. The song refrences all i want for christmas and amazing grace.
Also symphony refrences "we dont need no education" for its mid and final harmony.
Thats "another brick in the Wall" by Pink Floyd unless anyone was wondering what the OP is talking about. Absolutely correct though!
Rub a Dub is also a reference to a Nursery Rhyme from the "Christmas Box" collection.
The vocals for Extras are all by Molly Daisy
The range on that woman is absolutely insane. I was completely blown away when I first found out both parts were done by her.
Fun Fact: Molly Daisy Scarpine also has a band called Hyper Psychic, it's super cool!
So glad to see you guys diving into Guilty Gear again. Also "Extras" IS one female vocalist.
I swear i the metal voice doesnt sound like a female at all. Thats crazy talent lol
Just a quick note: the Just Lean video has many incorrect lyrics as it was made the day the song was released, when we were still theorizing what the engrish was even trying to imply.
Yeah, I think Naoki confirmed on twitter that the chorus's first lyrics are "'Just lean, it's anyone's call'"
Just wished this guy updated his lyrics after we got the official one.

It's a meme.
Buts it's still facts.
The circle is indeed peak fiction.
The newest songs ‘Radiant Dawn’ and ‘Get Over Nightmares’ are really good, but ‘Rock Parade’, ‘Like A Weed Naturally As A Matter Of Course’, and ‘Crawl’ are my personal favorites
Also ‘Hellfire’ is very good
Get over nightmares?

yes that is a woman singing, and it's in fact the same woman through the whole song
yes, the vocals of extras was done by Molly Daisy. the her last name is Daisy and she sounds shes about to call in the hounds in COD zombies. real vocal skill
They really just throw whatever they want into their music and make it work. Genius
MORE GUILTY GEAR! Ya'll made my day no joke : ]

Man, i love Brisket
Ups and Downs is like top 5 Strive songs for me, that shit's peak

We're so back
Honestly "Extras" has been my favorite for almost a year since Elphelt dropped. Mostly cause I play her as my main lol
Definitely would recommend listening to The Circle, Radiant Dawn, and Requiem
Thanks!
Wow thank you so much!
@@tejidotcom love the song reactions, thank you for the work you guys do
My favorite guilty gear song is 'Mirror of the world' if you haven't heard it already!
They actually have in their part 2 reaction :D
The town inside me is one of my favorite. For all the sub plot, meaning, progression, secrets it has. It's packed full of thoses)
got some bangers in here for sure, hope you guys keep these coming.
I'm so glad they did more guilty gear we need my boy Faust's theme in here (alone infection)
Ayo Xrd got some fire tracks: Ride the Fire, Heavy Day, Jack a Dandy, Lily of Steel. I've been listening to it almost everyday for the last month or even more. Quite a few good sombre/emotional songs too, not just hard rock and metal like All I Can Do and Coming Home
yeeeeees, finally!
Love your reactions guys! Next time, you have to to do "Hellfire", "The Circle" and "The Gravity", some of the best Strive has to offer imho.
Ayy more guilty gear, nice!
I love how "Extras" samples 'Amazing Grace' in one part, and also sounds Christmas-like because the character Elphelt was born on Christmas.
She also has a huge crush on Nagoriyuki
PLEASE do keep doing guilty gear, I absolutely love these videos 💜
Aayy, most of my favorites are here! Symphony is my #1 favorite off the ost too
Y’all are so great
Hell yeah part 4!!! We’re getting closer to Alone Infection, and The Circle.
Daisuke said ABA's hair isn't copper oxidized she just dyed it
nice thanks for the vid
Dang still waiting for The Gravity
I love that despite Naoki straight up saying what the lyrics are, pretty much every single source you find online will have different lyrics for Just Lean.
I'm pretty sure he did post the lyrics for exactly one of them officially, though I don't remember which one that was
Great vid guys
I hope they dive into Kirby music one day
Johnny out there eating up ALL the swagger.
YEAHHHH MORE GUILTY GEAR
Molly Daisy has a crazy voice.
All great songs.
Let s gooooooooooooooooo
Elphelt was a much more overt Guns n' Roses reference in her debut game, quite literally hitting you over the head with it in some attacks swinging around a bouquet of roses, and her instakill turning the area into a flower field if she wasn't zoning you out with a sniper rifle, shotgun?, and pistol
PEAK IS BACK
Extras is sung entirely my Molly Daisy Scarpine, who is a woman (duh), and she sings both the fry portions of the song, and the conventionally sung parts
🔥🔥🗣️🗣️SOL BADGUY🔥🔥🗣️🗣️
"We might check out Xrd next" Alright, and now we wait for Heavy Day and Birthday Train.
Symphony is my favorite
The town inside me is about the Bridget coming ti terms with her sexuality.she was originally born a boy woth a twin brother, but was raised as a girl so she wouldn't be killed(its complicated). Now she realizes that she's happy considering herself a girl
Extras is song by a woman, she does both parts. Molly Daisy Scarpine is her name.
Extras is all sang by one woman. She has amazing vocal range
I can't wait til you get to Anji's theme. It's very hit or miss for people but I personally love it
Now do the rest, whole ost slaps
Iirc all vocals in extras is the voice actor for elphelt
Edit: i was wrong, but it is all one vocalist for extras
Im always so surprised how few people realize that Bridget is cutting herself off before thinking too deeply about why she is unfulfilled.
"I never found out what it was I- Its my stress for sure"
"I never found out what it was I- I hate the alarm clock I chose"
Shes saying goofy random things because it is literally a tangent in her thought process.
When she finally realizes what her problem is, notice she doesn't say something random before the chorus, but rather "I know who you are; I'm not leaving you again."
By interrupting her own voice inside her with the random tangents, she was "leaving" them to be "watching from afar."
you guys don't need to cut out parts of the songs daisuke and arc system works don't mind
Perfect example: Just Lean's lyric doesn't go "Just lean, she was told", but rather "Just lean, it's anyone's call" (referencing gambling, because Johnny is a really lucky gambling man)
In Goldlewis' theme, instead of "I'm ready for this work that I do" it's "I'm ready for this, what about you?", both of which work, but still.
and in Slayer's theme the lines
"My friend enjoys courage for the plate"
"Holding a platinum knife with soft fire glow"
"What he misses is that he cannot be overthrown"
are instead
"My friend enjoys paradise for the palate"
"Holding a platinum knife with sapphire gloves"
"What he needs is an economic overthrow"
Hard to catch those with Naoki's vocalizations at times, but man do they go hard
My favorites are (in order) Goldlewis' theme, Bedman?'s theme (The Circle), and Slayer's theme with slayer being my fav, glad you guys enjoyed them!
Many people will choose their favorite tracks to listen to even if its not their character's theme
Johnny is also a pirate.... Lol
Just Lean is quite literally just Naoki saying that Johnny is HIM.
All of Slayer's themes have sick horn in them. Similar with ripping bass solos in all of Chipp's themes.
That key is her husband btw lmao
W VID
Huh, which Part would this be?
Anyway, i think the Kiss of Death might be my favorite Theme from this Game, can’t say for certain why though, just like the grove I guess.
Regardless, i can’t think of what you should do next, still i will look forward to see what you’ll cover.
Speaking of which, i hope you do my BlazBlue Openings Playlist at some point.
Day 1 of asking for Guilty Gear 5
Can't believe you haven't done faust yet he's got the best theme aba has a good one too
Not Dead Man and Oscar 😭 (Bedman and Asuka)
Dead Man's theme and Oscar theme the circle and gravity and Kai's son theme sin
Why did symphony get so heavily editted? Did it get flagged cause it sounds like Pink Floyd?
Just fyi elphets theme is indeed sung by a woman. The same woman sings both parts
please react to undertale, it's phenomenal!
Sol Badguy
Luna Goodgirl
There's SO MANY other tracks in this game y'all need to hear 😭
I swear we just cut out more of each song as they went on.
