I saw an article titled "Don't Give Up On Your Anxious Rescue Cat" come along my Google News Feed, and I really liked the title. While the contents werent totally what I thought, the title itself really sold me and reminded me of my orange rescue cat, Big Orange. Let me tell you, my kitty was NOT happy when she first came here. After a little time and love, she became the biggest snuggle buddy!

I have a rescue cat that literally took 3 months for him to be ok with me in the same room. Now he sleeps with me and snuggles me all the time. I was patient and kind and there we go, great love cat.

I dont know what to do at nights, my cat becomes very active and I cant sleep. During the day I cannot aproach at her cause she's scared so she just stays still for moves from one place to the other so she's not tired at night. HELP
Oh man. One of my cats does that horrible yowl when he's sick. We brought him into the vet because we thought something was seriously wrong, and he just had a cold! Diagnosis: big whiney baby.
Haha sometimes Luna and Big Orange will just yowl in the middle of the night, and i'll call to them, and they'll hop in bed and purr and be like, oh hey just didnt want you to forget about me
This sounds like my cat Charlie. He was outdoors for either 4 or 5 years. We are not sure. He had an owner who had way too many cats in his condo. Charlie never wanted to go inside his condo. It could be that the other cats were mean to him. I exposed him to my parents cats recently and at first he was shy. Then he was okay with them being around. He would hiss sometimes and even went to nose to nose twice with one of the cats. That made me happy. Our biggest issue is that every night now and morings too he will kneed my hubby and I. It will spend 10 minutes or more walking all over us and meowing. The first time he did it, he started grabbing my hair. Now he just kneeds forever. We don't understand it. We know he likes our home. He know longer is outside since we live in a condo and it's not really safe for him to be outside. He is taken really good care of. I hope that what he has is anxiety and that it will go away. He has zero desire to go outside. He loves looking out the window. Poor little guy I think had to really be on alert outside with his last two owners. He had a first owner who left him when they moved. Then our neighbor took him in but he remained outside. Now he is offically ours, getting the proper care he needs. At night when he slept in the truck he must of felt uneasy. His owner died last year. We didn't find out until this year that Charlie needed a home. I think he's dealing with stress. I can't wait for it to go away. It's hard to get sleep when you have a meowing cat walking all over you. He gets really disturbed if you bother him. He starts to meow more as if he's trying to tell us to leave him alone. He doesn't want us bother him when he's kneeding us. It really cute but can make me tired when I don't proper sleep because of it.
My cat i have had since she was a baby and she is still very anxious and can often times lash out.
Our 1st rescue has some issues but we love her just the same. Tnx for positive words & encouragement to not give up on your cat! ❤😻🇵🇭

Tnx for the reply! Cleo's not an easy cat - she's what Jackson Galaxy calls a Napoleon cat. She wants to claim ownership on everything & pees on anything that my other 3 cats slept in 1st. But she adores my brother & is a complete angel around him. Pet = family = commitment.
Both my cats are rescues and one of them was just like yours and is now a constant snuggler. The other is affectionate now in her own way, and it took almost a year for her to relax but now she's wonderful.

hi! just found your channel! i have an orange cat i rescued aswell! i have had him for a year now, first months he was just hiding, then he got to know my other two cats. and now he is yelling when he cant find them :P he lays next to me and my son but we are not allowed to pet him still. but he is able to be outside with the other cats now and his face when he caught his first mouse!!! :D hes recovering slowly but much progress has been done!
Thank you 🥺 !! My 5 month kitten that I rescued has severe anxiety. She’s slowly getting better especially with running with slight movements. However she’s just not loving & cuddling like her adopted sister I rescued along with her. It worries me so much but you just helped me & my anxiety out 😭💗

I totally agree! The first video I watched was the tutorial of making a cat hammock out of pipes & no-sew fabric. That got me hooked.
Wow Just this morning I was thinking that I made a big mistake by taking in a stray-then I saw your video.I have a senior cat (16 yrs old) and adopted a stray in June( approx 3-4 yrs old) For the most part they get along but the younger one will still try to jump on the older cat's back and just generally be annoying with him
-swatting,hitting,yowling etc.Do you think this will stop?? I hate to have my old cat spend his golden years being ambushed Anyway I love your videos.
