Kenkey is made out of maize and molded in the maize leaves it can be eaten with green pepper sauce, shito, okro stew or soup etc. Shito is a popular sauce made out of pepper, ginger, onions, spices and powdered dried herrings and it goes with most foods such as rice, kenkey, banku, fried or boiled yam etc

I can't believe that fufu didn't top the list. Personal opinion, but there's no way ampesi will rank higher than fufu. Top on my list Will be Fufu, Wakye, Gob3(beans with plantain and gari), Kenkey, Riceballs, Ampesi.

I lived in Ghana in the 1980s (my father had a job with the engineering company that was rebuilding the highway system in Western Africa). Back then the country was pretty safe, but it was poor, with low food availability. I've eaten some Ghanaian dishes, but not as many as I would have like since you just couldn't trust meat if you didn't cook it yourself. My favourite Ghanaian dish was Groundnut Soup. Groundnut is the local name for peanut and the soup was super spicy. One of my parents' friends there was Vietnamese and she found the soup to be sufficiently spicy. They don't mention it in this video, but Ghanaian cuisine had a strong influence from Lebanese cuisine for whatever reason.
