Church organist here. What a wonderful gift from the Cathedral and what a wonderful gift you are giving in return, to give this magnificent organ a new lease of life. Thank you for handling it so carefully Billy and for the care and love you bring to all that you restore.
This brought tears of joy to my eyes. Billy and his family/friends are so caring and good people. To have such a beautiful organ donated to the convent that Billy is bringing back to life is a blessing and wonderful gift. Glorious Cathedral and generous spirit. Thank you to those who came together and made this gift possible. Blessings to you all.
Get the charming priest a coffee! Fabulous episode! I feel with Simons reassuring involvement at both ends this will go smoothly. Billy such a gift and a gift of people helping is a reflection of you.
First to comment! Awesome donation! Beautiful breathtaking cathedral! What an enormous job taking it apart then putting it all back together! Huge shout out to all those who volunteered to help you Billy!
That organ is basically a priceless white elephant. Until you find someone looking for a priceless white elephant, it sits where it is. I'm so happy it has found Billy. And it's also good to see Simon👍
@@ericalbanyand I wonder how the chapel space will support the amazing potential voice of an organ even close to one that animated the volume of the cathedral. At much less than full power it will rattle the windows & beams. Say Widor’s Toccata …. Ahh, I see that it is two manuals, and too small for its original placement. Hurrah if it is moving to space that will help it sound its best.

Can't wait to hear Michael play this beautiful instrument after hearing him play another organ in the train station. And yes, it is a 'sight to behold.' The locals will not know what has hit them... Safe travel home Billy and crew!
How moving was that & what an amazing gift ☺️ The old organ at our local church was carefully dismantled, piece by piece & taken to an old church in Dijon. After being rebuilt the congregation from our church were invited over to come & listen to it being played in its new home with the Dijon church families providing accommodation for us 😊 It was truly amazing. I hope Billy that maybe you could do the same & invite the congregation of this beautiful cathedral to come & see their organ in the Convent. How fabulous that would be ❤
It is a privilege to be involved with the dismantling. I think I may have nightmares about bubble wrap tonight 😂. The cathedral is an amazing environment to be working in. We will continue cracking on tomorrow and get the organ into the van (Billy, I am sure we can get it all in 😀)
I can only imagine the hard work! But it sounds like it was also filled with joy! Thank you for helping with this incredible project. Much love from the West Coast of Canada 🇨🇦
I had an idea you were going to England to pick up an organ for the convent chapel, however, I was pleasantly surprised to learn it was being gifted to you. How great is that! Kudos to all who volunteered to help you Billy! Safe travels back to the convent. Looking forward to hearing Michael play the organ once it is re-assembled at the convent! So generous of you to create a Go Fund Me page as a THANK YOU to the beautiful cathedral in England. Well done!
Oh, Billy! A once in a life time gift! I have the biggest lump in my throat. What history this organ has seen in that beautiful cathedral! A change in plans to finish the chapel in honor of this fabulous organ. It deserves no less.
How wonderful it is to be gifted an organ for the convent! Also, it was so heartwarming to see a group of wonderful friends gathered together to carry out the task of dismantling the organ. Billy is so fortunate to have such friends. Great to see Simon, Philip, Moon and Alex again😊

As someone already said: organ pipes not missles. What a loving exchange between caring people. So good to see in these dark times. Thank you, Billy and all.

Dear Billy. I'm so touched at this monumental task that you have taken on. Your determination is like life. Endless. Warmest wishes to all, and a safe return home. Pam
I absolutely love the little chapel in the convent. This gift will make it even more special. Congratulations, Billy. If I was planning a trip to Europe, a visit to the convent's chapel would be on my bucket list.

What a fantastic episode! I'm not surprised Billy received a organ, but what did surprised me, it was gifted to the convent. Once I heard this, I had to pause, to shed a few tears. Life moves in mysterious ways, a Cathedral and a Convent, connected through a man name Billy, bound to persevered the history of the past. He is the chosen one, to bring the organ to the convent, and perhaps, the spirit of the nuns, will be blessed of the beautiful sounds of this magnificent organ. ❤
How beautiful amd spectacular is Nowich Roman Catholic Cathedral. Love how Father Paul kindly donated the beautiful pipe organ to you and was helping remove all the pipes and advising how to store and pack for her new home in France. The pipe organ is beautiful and will look magnificent in the Convent Chapel once put back together and a good clean ( a hundred or so years overdue) in all its glory.
So wonderful, pipes and not missiles. Halleluja! Tears to heaven! Thank you for bringing love, hope and charity to my soul. Thank you John the Baptist and the Roman Catholic Church. Thank you for being there. ❤ you guys.
This is so exciting...I hope you invite Father Paul back to the Convent to help you put the pipes back into their places as he is so familiar with this organ. I can't wait to hear it being played back at the convent. Congratulations Billy....so happy for you!! How many more trips did you have to do to get more bubble wrap, tape, etc....?
My father was an organ builder, he built, restored and tuned church organs his whole professional life. He passed away last year but worked well into his seventies. I can remember him being one of the last 3 remaining fulltime organ builders in Britain in the 80's. He would be elated that you're preserving something he was so passionate about. I spend my childhood surrounded by organs/ pieces especially organ pipes as you can imagine! 😂
I’m so glad I was wrong about which organ you were getting! I knew the cathedral was in need of replacing their Bradford Computing Organ, but I never imagined it would be the older historic organ you would be bringing to the convent! I’m doubly surprised that it is a gift! I hope you will be able to restore this organ, and that the cathedral will find an organ sufficient to fill the entire building with sound. Wow!
As soon as I heard Billy needed kms of bubble wrap I new it was to wrap organ pipes. A mammoth and exacting job to dismantle a pipe organ, transport safely, refurbish and reassemble. Not for the feint hearted I can tell you. I hope that many people donate to the cathedral organ fund, I shudder to think how much their new instument will cost. It will have to be of substantial size to overcome the acoustics and size of the cathedral. Donate generously people, let us give grateful thanks. Regards from South Africa
Quite a daunting task! I admire your determination to make sure that all parts are wrapped and labelled. Taking apart a puzzle to put it back together is the championship move. Good luck!
This took me back...My father installed, rebuilt, and tuned pipe organs in Oklahoma and Texas. Growing up, we helped him and I spent many weekends crawling around organ chambers and sitting at the console holding keys while he tuned the pipes. He passed in 1989 while installing a multi million dollar organ in Houston Texas...I will enjoy watching this organ being rehomed at the Convent.
What a magnificent gift and so generous of you to set up a go fund me link to help this beautiful cathedral get a new organ. Putting it back together will be quite the undertaking. Safe travels back to France 😍😘
So many emotions watching this. The solemnity, reverence and respect shown by all is heartwarming. What a very generous gift and will have a place of honor at the Convent. You all are very kind souls and what a pleasure to be a part of your journey. Bless you all.
Dear Billy and fabulous friends, volunteers and patreons - thank you for sharing this most beautiful and poignant of moments with us your viewers🥰🥰🥰this lovely old and historic organ will have a loving and caring new home across the Channel in your beloved Convent. It would be spectacularly special if we ever get to hear Michael play it 🤩 Blessings as always to each and everyone of you for a safe journey back. So lovely to see you again Simon💚
Dear Billy, this was a fabulous video of friends, volunteers, patreons and a wonderful priest coming together to save this well loved, and cared for old organ and give it a new home where it will continue to be loved and cared for. The video brought tears to my eyes watching everyone dismantle the organ and wrap each piece, each pipe with gentle care. I wish there were more Billy Petherick’s in the world who care about saving the old relics, things that have outlived their usefulness in a disposable society. Your love of things with an aged patina is why thousands watch you every day. Thank you for bringing us along. xx
I had suspected it would be an organ but wow, what a beautiful & generous gift from the cathedral. It is going to look amazing in the chapel!!! I hope they too have been given their new organ that is more suited to the size of they need. Gifts that may keep giving for many more years to come.
100-200 years from now, people will look back on you and your team's work and how you preserved history for future generations. You're part of its legacy. Cheers, mate.
Wow… what a gift and what an undertaking!! We have a 2500 pipe organ at our university here that was moved about 10 years back. They used an air compressor, flute cleaning rods, brushes and cloths to blow out, wipe out and wipe off every single pipe… and they were only going across campus. I can’t wait to see it up and reassembled in the convent chapel.
just imagine it playing Christmas Carols and filling with people from the community, the convent is coming back to it's glory. The Pethericks are doing good works.
It saddens me to know that I will have to wait for the organ to be reassembled and restored before I will get to see it played in the convent. That alone will keep me coming back to your channel. Congrats to all the volunteers that are helping and a big thanks to the Church for donating it. WOW!
WOW, WOW , WOW, what a wonderful surprise to have this lovely organ gifted to the convent. I am so happy for you to have this for Billy's chapel. Safe travels with your precious cargo.
Thank you for a fascinating video. What an incredible gift from such a historic building, such an honour for the convent. My brain hurts at the thought of piecing it back together. As a clean freak I'd absolutely love cleaning it all though 😅
What a beautiful donation for future generations. Billy how amazing to take this apart and put it back together.Michael can play it. Love watching you guys work.
Oh Billy and friends: What a wonderful addition to the chapel. When you finally get the last pipe in place please check out what you need to keep it in awesome condition - controlled temperature, environment, dust and pest control. Organs are very sensitive and easily get out of tune. You have probably thought of this but I thought I would mention it. So glad you had so much help.
Wow this is Amazing how wonderful to be Gifted the Organ 🤗🙏 To every one who helped with this Awesome task well done you are all Amazing 🤗☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰 Love Sue❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Wow, this is amazing! I don’t usually comment since you get thousands of repetitive responses. But this time I had to voice my opinion. I’m so happy you were able to receive this amazing gift. I do crazy hard 3000 pice puzzles that are shades of a couple colors & I know how long that takes me. I can’t wait to see you put this back together. A big thanks to Daddy Moon, Simone, & all your other wonderful friends. And thank you to the Priest & Parish. God Bless you all
The cathedral and the bubble wrap bits this week had me thinking « organ ». I was hoping I was right. And what a beautiful piece it is! A donation on top of it. The generosity of the human race has no boundaries uh ? It was nice to see your extended family gather to help. Congrats Billy !
You will always remember this adventure. One thought .. is the tape you are using called Duck or Duct Tape? If so, don't leave it attached for long. The chemicals in the glue will wreck havoc one the wood and metal. Avoid heat. Thank you for sharing the excitement of this video. We will donate at the gofundme page. 👍👍👍
What an honor to receive such a jaw-dropping gift! And you get the honor of showing and sharing it with hundreds of thousands of people on your channel! What an astounding look into such craftsmanship from the 18th century. I have enjoyed watching your channel for some time now and love to see all that you do and get accomplished. I am just fascinated nearly beyond words on this particular video. Only a video of getting it cleaned up and installed in your convent will be able to top this particular video. It's definitely a rare video that I will rewatch a few more times.
Billy, my motto in life has been “Be the example”, and I can only say that you live that motto every day. Your generosity of spirit has brought wonderful people into your life…some for a season, and some forever. By living as you do, sometimes life gifts you with the opportunity to save a beautiful piece of history, and help an old cathedral as well. I thought it was an organ…and it certainly IS an organ. Well done you, Father Paul, and all the helpers and friends with you.🖤🇨🇦
Oh my! What a gift to both Billy and the Cathedral. I will be looking forward to the future and watching the reconstruction of the organ in the chapel and hearing it being played once again.
Good things happen to good people & Billy & Gwen are definitely good people. Such a beautiful Cathedral, huge thanks to them for gifting, and all who volunteered to dismantle the organ. Its going to good, respectful people & a beautiful new home.
I'm glad the cathedral isn't being deconsecrated and what an amazing gift! How did you and the cathedral connect? I imagine that's a fascinating story!
Oh Billy, words fail me. This is such a generous gift and such a huge undertaking to get it back to the convent. Mind how you go. Can't wait to hear it fill the convent with music. Kudos to everyone involved.
Just...wow. My eyes welled up and my heart swelled with pride and happiness that this gorgeous old organ was given to you and is going to its new home in your convent chapel. What an extraordinary gift! TY to all your friends, patreons, and volunteers...I recognized Nick straight away and it'd be nice to know who the others are...who helped you bring this beauty home! I look forward to seeing it come back to life in the coming months...years?...and can't wait to hear it sing again!
Oh my goodness, that cathedral...can this vlog get any better, this tops it all, what an amazing gift, I bet Michael is chomping at the bit to play and what an awesome crew to help with this gargantuan project, my mind is blown...good luck boys...!!!
Oh my! I can’t even begin to imagine the process of disassembling this beautiful organ and then reassembling it again. Such love and dedication to preserving a phenomenal work of art!!💪🏻👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🥰🎹🎼
Billy how wonderful bet Michael can’t wait to play it and what a lovely opportunity for all your friends and helpers to be involved in and hello to nick and Thankyou Alex for the fantastic filming and Thankyou to Gwen as well for this really great channel.🙏💫😀💖🕊
Wow what a gift to be given, I had a inkling it was going to be a organ and it's beautiful congratulations Billy hope you get it back together again 🙏,💕🌼🤗
Wow, wow, wow! All I can say is this generous gift couldn’t be gifted to a better home than the Convent under Billy’s care and remarkable love of history and preservation. 🙏🏻❤️
To all the volunteers and to Billy, Simon, Moon, Alex, Michael, Phil, Ryan and any that I may have missed that are helping to bring the organ back to France and a big thanks to the Church for donating it. Billy that is a lovely idea to let people donate towards an organ for the church. What about the organization that goes around saving organs that are being removed from churches that Michael spoke to us once. Have they not got an organ for this splendid Cathedral? Can not wait to see it installed in the convent. Have a safe trip back to France.
Well done Billy, and the rest of the gang. It's always nice to see good things happening to good people, and I'm sure the organ will have a great home in the convent. :-) Looking forward to hearing Michael play Christmas carrols and hymns on the organ, if you manage to assembly it before Christmas.
Dear Billy, I have read many of the commends on this vlog and I agree with all of them . Tears came easily at this amazing gesture and request. To care for, restore and use this beautiful instrument at the Convent Chapel in France. It is huge on so many levels. The Project is big and will take many skill sets and craftsmen to realize. But it grabs us all and inspires us all because we know you and the team will give your all. A day some time in the future a note will ring out in the Chapel follows by a continuous flow of other notes filling the space with Sound and Beauty. It will flow out into the courtyard and into the street and across the French countryside and it will be because of what happened to day in Norwich. The Chapel will become the Event Space it was ment to be and the possabilities for Concerts ,Summer schools and Organ study. It will give the Convent an added destination value for visitors from abroad. The Symbolism of this Anglo/French exchange is not lost on the love and care that both peoples have for the Beauty of things. In this time of discord .dismay War and talks of war. This Story of a generous gift from one community to another with no monetary exchange just a request to love it. Its Voice will bring the Magic . Billy and all his friends and us too are just the instruments by which this Spirit will sing.
To Billy and all involved in this project I can only wish you all good fortune and my sincere regards. What a wonderful contribution to the Chapel and the furtherance of cultural exchanges between the two nations. If only such generosity could be exhibited by the rest of the world in these strife torn times.
Putting together an IKEA flat pack is one thing. The enormity of transferring and rebuilding this organ is beyond epic. Saving this wonderful piece of musical heritage is admirable. But … well, holy moly! This more than just a little bit scary. Where on earth are you going to put it, Billy, to begin with? We all will be watching this space!
Wait! I have so many questions. How did the cathedral hear you needed an organ? I think there must be an interesting story there. And, although the organ is too small for the cathedral, won't it blow the windows out of the chapel of the convent when it is played at full volume?!! It's a fantastic gift and I love the reverence in which you are taking it apart. Just Wow! All of it.
What a blessing and an honor to receive such a magnificent gift! And I’m very glad that the church has such a robust congregation that they need a larger pipe organ. Thanks to the priest for helping and it’s wonderful to see you again Simon! Amazing!
WOWZZA 😮. A beautiful thing it is. I’m glad Simon is there. He’s so methodical and detailed oriented along with Billy. And you have knowledgeable help. 🎉 What a good situation. Fabulous just Fabulous 🎉 Love to all all. You will all be experts at what makes an Organ work!
Nick and his wife do an amazing channel and the horses are legends. I found their channel thru Sadie with Udea 😊. Legacy of legends ❤. Beautiful organ Billy and so many people helping is heartwarming to see
Blessing to The priest and the church members for their donation of this beautiful organ to the chapel at the convent. Thank you to all the friends and volunteers from this cathedral on reverently and respectfully taking this organ apart in order for it to be reassembled in the chapel. What a very generous gift that will one day soon be played in its new home and the continued history of it playing for what I pray will be many years. It’s wonderful to see all the people we live come together with Billy in this monumental task of dismantling and labeling each peace. My eyes filled up more than once . What a blessing and joyous day this is for all of us. Peace be with you all and safe travels. ❤❤❤
You were chosen to be the new caretaker of this gorgeous and ancient instrument. This says a lot about you. I can’t wait to hear it fill your church with beautiful music. ❤️
Billy what a wonderful to thing to do. Not only for the Chapel in France but also for the Church in England. The number of pieces is astounding! So much love with all the help of friends. The music to come will reflect not only the years of its spiritual use but also the hope of the future music to come and be shared. Very touching....
Although raised as a catholic I have drifted away from man made religious institutions of any hue. I think Christs teaching is about when people come together in love, hope and kindness and that doesn't have to be a in a temple, church or cathedral. Although I love the architecture, history and obvious effort that went into buildings such amazing places of worship across all faiths. Billy and his friends working together to save the organ is a simple example of this. Regardless of any religious labels the word of Christ is about spirituality not rules and traditions. Christ went into the temple and disparaged the holy men for having more regard for a building and rules rather than the poor people outside who needed help.
@@peterkenny7810I agree, my going to church is to go out into nature and give thanks for all the amazing creatures and plants, everything we’ve been blessed to receive. Helping those in need man’s more to me that being stuck in a church being accused of sinning and going to hell. Maybe they don’t do that anymore but the last time I attended in an actual church they did. Helping those who are in need of my time and whatever I can do to give them some happiness , or food, whatever is within my ability to do/give is what I feel is more in keeping with the word.
What an inspiring project. I look forward to seeing this amazing instrument reassembled and played once more. What a great addition to the convent’s chapel. ❤
This video brought me to tears! I am SO proud of you, Billy. You are such a visionary and your efforts toward historic preservation is admirable. I felt thrilled to see Simon there to help with this incredible project along with your other friends. I wish I could have been there to help, too.
I dare say, this might be one of the most epic episodes, right up there with ringing the convent's new bell for the first time. I hope to see Ryan and Michael in on the action before you pack off to France. Kudos to Alex for some fine videography.
Billy, what a beautiful generous donation for your convent. Watching the look on everybody faces plus the care in the dismantling is a picture to behold. After the organs installation, is the intention to use the Chapel for religious services again? All the best for the future. John
How totally wonderful. I'm sure all will cry they first time she's reassembled and played.

As a son of a church organist, I am also very appreciative of this gift, and of Father Paul's guidance as to its packing etc. Well done.
Get the charming priest a coffee! Fabulous episode! I feel with Simons reassuring involvement at both ends this will go smoothly. Billy such a gift and a gift of people helping is a reflection of you.
Father Paul had a few coffees 😀. A wonderful and very knowledgeable man
You should get the good padre a pint of beer with all of that dust, especially being in England.
Perhaps a good respirator for the dear Padre to ward off the hundred year old dust & dead fly bodies!
Well I hope to see it at the convent one day hope you stick with this monumental task the best to you all
Heavenly Inspirational..

A white elephant for certain. I doubt that the convent chapel would ever have had one so large.

Billy, I have to give you credit, you never go small, with anything. Amazing!

A wonderful acquisition for “The Pethericks”. That said, what a sad day for the church, but thankfully the Faith and history will live on in France!

Wow!
I'm totally lost for words. What a fantastic gift. I thought the kitchen was a big job. Bless you all. ❤
Oh, the beauty of the sounds of music these will bring to the convent. It will be a truly marvelous addition. ⛪
I wept with joy for their gift to you and your family! What a gift! Much love and joy to all!❤❤❤❤❤
What a magnificent gift and so generous of you to set up a go fund me link to help this beautiful cathedral get a new organ.
Magnificent! This will be the crown jewel of the convent if you can bring it together again (not an easy task). Congrats to Billy and the crew.
just imagine it playing Christmas Carols and filling with people from the community, the convent is coming back to it's glory. The Pethericks are doing good works.
It saddens me to know that I will have to wait for the organ to be reassembled and restored before I will get to see it played in the convent. That alone will keep me coming back to your channel. Congrats to all the volunteers that are helping and a big thanks to the Church for donating it. WOW!
Yes this is one more reason to keep watching😊
Amazing, I am hooked
It was a one in a lifetime event!! I am deeply honoured to be a part of it.. It is going from one roman Catholic place to another !!
When you finally get the last pipe in place please check out what you need to keep it in awesome condition - controlled temperature,
environment, dust and pest control. Organs are very sensitive and easily get out of tune. You have probably thought of this but I thought I would mention it. So glad you had so much help.
Wow this is Amazing how wonderful to be Gifted the Organ 🤗🙏
To every one who helped with this Awesome task well done you are all Amazing 🤗☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰
Love Sue❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
What lovely friends you have and what a generous gift to the convent. ❤
Well done you, Father Paul, and all the helpers and friends with you.🖤🇨🇦
Billy, you’re fearless and we love you for
that and being able to accomplish such a wonderful thing.
Thank you
WOW! Congratulations it's absolutely stunning. You are doing great things Billy 🙏🙏🙏❤️ Safe journey back many blessings 🙏
Oh my! I can’t even begin to imagine the process of disassembling this beautiful organ and then reassembling it again. Such love and dedication to preserving a phenomenal work of art!!💪🏻👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🥰🎹🎼
No doubt you have hired an organ builder for proper installation. I look forward to seeing and hearing this new instrument!
It will sound so beautiful in the chapel can't wait to hear the notes echoing throughout the whole convent..
What an awesome gift and a beautiful, grand church. You’ve been blessed!
Wow, that's extremely generous! The cathedral looks lovely!
What a mammoth project to transport an organ overseas... well done!
Nothing like the even greater task of putting it back together again, that's two to three weeks worth!?!
@@thomasherrin6798and lots of phone calls, emails , and/or texts with questions…
Wow what a gift to be given, I had a inkling it was going to be a organ and it's beautiful congratulations Billy hope you get it back together again 🙏,💕🌼🤗
Such a wonderful blessing in this gift. Well deserved.
What a glorious gift you were given. It's absolutely stunning. It will be a perfect addition for the convent.
Wow, wow, wow! All I can say is this generous gift couldn’t be gifted to a better home than the Convent under Billy’s care and remarkable love of history and preservation. 🙏🏻❤️
Jaw dropping. Amazing how many pieces go into that organ. That cathedral is just majestic.
The gift was not the organ, the gift is the love, friendship. Merry Christmas to all!!.
Dear Billy,
I have read many of the commends on this vlog and I agree with all of them .
Beautiful words❤
Beautifully stated and again my eyes fill with tears. ❤
In the chapel at the convent.
What a good situation.
Fabulous just Fabulous 🎉
Love to all all.
You will all be experts at what makes an Organ work!
Absolutely memorising. The care and gentleness you are each taking handling every piece brings tears to the eyes. ❣
What a magnificent Cathedral and fabulous gift to the Convent! God is great!
Billy what a wonderful to thing to do. Not only for the Chapel in France but also for the Church in England. The number of pieces is astounding! So much love with all the help of friends. The music to come will reflect not only the years of its spiritual use but also the hope of the future music to come and be shared. Very touching....
Is was a gift from a Roman Catholic Cathedral.
@@donnabaker6252she said a church in England , not the Church of England 😊

Such a beautiful gift!! Can’t wait to see it in the Chapel of the convent and hear Michael play! Going to be lovely,❤️
A gift recieved and a gift given! I hope their cathedral gets the funds they need for the appropriately sized pipe organ!😊
John
What a beautiful organ, what an awesome donation, hopefully you can get it all safely back to France 🇫🇷.
Cracking on Billy & friends.
Wow. A wonderful gift. I never knew there were so many parts to a pipe organ. Can’t wait to hear Michael playing it.
Billy, you and Nick are essentially doing the same things but different. Love both of your missions.
