    I just love what you said something about them as "resourceful and intelligent". You know what, I'm so hurt because my family on my husband side don't understand and even judge my son for not being able to talk and I don't want to go to their place anymore because of this issue I always control myself not to cry if ever they said something about my son, its really hard to explain sometimes because they know nothing about it. I'm so thankful that I saw your video it really helps me, it gives me hope. I will keep your videos with me all the time if I am down and heard some hurtful things from them so I will be reminded everytime about you just said. My Son is turning 4 this Sunday. He is really active, very sweet child he loves to play on his own and even grabs anything he likes without supervision. He can even sings all the baby songs, can count, knows the shapes, colors except conversation. He doesn't talk unless in desperate time like he really wants to go bathroom he'll say "I'm pooping" and "milk, okay". But I observed that when he can do something by his own he will do it by himself without my assistance.

Keep working with him, play with him, model the language he needs, and keep everything fun! No matter what, you are doing an amazing job providing for your son, you never have to feel shame or guilt. I support you!

    My 4yr old boy, will get upset when you withhold that for so long and start showing tantrum. Sometimes he will just walk away, and don't want that stuff any longer.
    He feels so sad when he s trying to communicate and I can't get/understand what he's saying. It just shows on his face .
    And when i repeat what he doesn't mean, he says no or shakes his head, if I say another, he says no, by the time I try about 5 times, he gets sad or walk away, or drags my hand to show me what he meant, I feel so hurt, he still blabs at this age & understanding him is so hard.

    My son Breeze is almost 3 years old. Still not speaking in sentences or really saying many words. He babbles and makes sounds, says “go” and “wow” I’m feeling like I’ve failed as a mom. He has been in speech since 17 months and just got occupational a few months ago. He is aging out of the program in 4 months once he turns 3.
    I work at a daycare he goes 2 days per week. Will be going 3 soon.
    I just feel sad. Like I’m failing him. I see the other kids speaking in fluent sentences and my son just isn’t there yet and I feel sad for him. Is it me? I must be doing something wrong. That’s how I feel. Im crying as I write this. I just feel so alone sometimes like no one understands how it feels to see their child struggle in this way but I’m sure others understand. There are children much much younger than him who are speaking with words and not babbling. I just want to give up to be honest. Like it makes me so depressed because I’m scared he’s gonna struggle forever. What if he never talks? It’s so hard to keep good positive energy when you’re worried about your child’s future

I’ve talked to his pediatrician but his pediatrician said he’s not worried because my son is growing up in a bilingual home. What can I do to help him? Should I just teach him one language up until he’s a certain age to learn the other language?

He knows what they are and what they “say” but he cannot get it out the way it is intended to sound . Heeeelllppp K , G and C sounds are his biggest struggle . S sounds are slurred often

    • @HelpMeGrowSpeech
      @HelpMeGrowSpeech  3 года назад +1

      This can be tough since his attention is poor. Are you working with a licensed SLP? For articulation sounds, songs and books that have those sounds in it like "Go Dog Go" or "5 little Ducks" song are great to keep children motivated while practicing sounds. Model and exaggerate the sounds he has trouble with. Also, say it wrong and have HIM correct YOU! My kiddos love this because they have the POWER haha

    • @HelpMeGrowSpeech
      @HelpMeGrowSpeech  3 года назад

      Hi Kaby, make it a fun game to encourage him to use his words and show him what words to use. So you might have to model the word or phrase for him at first. Then, follow through! Be gentle, patient, and loving, but make sure you follow through with your expectations!

    Hello! My daughter is 3yrs 7 months, she speaks a lot but other persons are having problems understanding her. I also notice that her tongue doesn’t move freely when speaking. Is there something I can do at home with her? Thank you in advance!

    • @HelpMeGrowSpeech
      @HelpMeGrowSpeech  4 года назад

      You should definitely call your pediatrician for an appointment just to make sure everything’s ok. If it’s a motor issue of the tongue, you’ll need to see a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. I’m sorry there’s no easy answer, but I strongly believe she would benefit best from individual, specialized treatment. Start with your Pediatrician, and any regional center organizations in your area that has licensed Speech Language Pathologists on staff

Every time when i ask her to say something she laughs, i know she understands everything we say but she is very stubborn🤷‍♀️😁

    I was wondering if you could give some tips on getting eye contact from a 2.5 year old boy
    My son is delayed and I'm really trying with step one of the pyramid but I can't even get him to look at me when I speak to him
    I've watched all of your videos and I'm trying to implement without over loading him so getting his attention is a good first step I feel (..?)

      PM Hair Design great question! Any toy that he likes, hold it by your face. When he looks, say “good looking!” And give it to him. Gradually, lengthen the time you hold it to your face before giving it to him. Also, playing social games like peek-a-boo, hide and seek.. etc are great for attention

    My son is 3 yrs 4 months and he has the expression of needs. For eg. He will ask for whatever he wants in 4 to 5 words sentence. However, he does not have expression of thoughts and he does not ask question like what is this , where are we going etc.
    Please suggest how to work on this.

    • @HelpMeGrowSpeech

      Great question, I would recommend that you model questions ALL the time during daily routines. So when it's time to get dressed, you can say "Let's get your shirt!" and then ask "What's this?" and hold up his shirt. You can also teach asking questions through songs that have "who" "what" and "where" questions in them. Maybe I can make a video on this topic!

      Hi Lindsey . My son is 3y4m and has a very similar issue . He can ask for everything he wants in sentences 3-4 , sometimes 5 words sentences . He can answer most of “what’s this “ kind of questions for all things he knows , but he doesn’t answer questions like - what did you do at school today? Or if he had a play date at someone’s home and I’ll ask him do you want to go to ABC home to play - he won’t have an answer. Also if I ask him - what did you play / do at ABC home during your play date ? No answer again. Are my questions appropriate for his age ? If yes - how do I get him to answer?
      Richa - could I ask how was is your journey and what has helped you so far ? I am stuck in a very similar situation and not sure how can I help my child here !
      Would appreciate all suggestions/ inputs .
