As a convert, finding Ignatius Press was like finding water in a desert. The absolute wealth of knowledge and wisdom was such a treasure, Now my adult children are finding out about the absolute wonder of depth and knowledge that literally cant be found anywhere outside the Church. The "fullness of Faith" is just that- filled to overflowing.

I remember him coming to my Catholic high school back in the early 80’s to interest the students in the Ignatius Institute at USF One of the great Jesuits in a sea of heterodox ones

I agree we have yet to get the mass of Vatican II and they mucked it up so bad that often people find the old mass far superior in all its trappings and atmosphere compared to the cold and messy things often done with the new mass.
For example we have one priest who never fully vests for mass, always in liturgical underwear and he NEVER does the lavabo, never. Drives me nuts, most people have no clue. Then there's the piano music before mass, secular classical stuff and the re-jiggered words in the hymns, I believe to make some cowrite money because they are rather pukey.
So I will not live long enough to see it fixed, but I have lived long enough to see them move the Tabernacle back to the old main altar and in the process rebuild the stairs to that altar, and while they ripped out all the beautiful marble work there remains a distant future which I think will fix it. Why do I think this? They made some repairs to some prayers here and there, after DECADES, the Tabernacle is back where it should be, there's a new adoration chapel in the nearby parish - all things I wishes and prayed for.
Bottom line, He was born in a stable and the first mass was said in very humble circumstances, all so we can never feel too bad about our own circumstances. If He could stand the stink of a stable, I can stand the stink with Him.
