Deathstep: dark dubstep with pansnare/orchestra
Tearout: heavy dubstep/riddim/deathstep or marauda's style
marauda is pretty much a genre on its own at this point
So tearout drops are rapid and metallic where as deathstep is slower and the basslines have more harmonics?
Tearout sometimes has "machinegun", and it's more chaotic then deathstep. Deathstep is heavier and has more harmonious basslines.
Tearout is more like full on rage ....heres a simple distinction. Tearout is supposed to make you feel angry and deathstep makes you feel anxiety and feel of impending doom
The Deathstep snares punch you in the fuckin face. Tearout snares make you yell.
Also tearout is more repetitive and riddim based.
Its crazy how the 1st two songs blend well together

Heft is much slower and heavier. Heft also uses continuous bass and reverb drums.

Классический Tearout появился раньше Deathstep. Из-за звучания старого Tearout возник Brostep, из которого уже возник Deathstep. Позже из Brostep и Deathstep появился Tearout Brostep. Рекомендую ознакомиться с историей обоих жанров на rateyourmusic.
