I was diagnosed with acute lymphatic disease in 1972 at Roswell Buffalo ny cancer center with a 0 percent chance of living he showed up by himself with a acoustic guitar and played for a very small group of us all I remember was was his boot clicking on the floor all tithe family’s were given his 45 and to this today it’s apart of me. Then when I found out he passed from leukemia I was devastated , I lost a piece of me to this day I weep when I hear this song I’m just glad they sent me Angle to help save me and I’ve learned how to play this song on guitar which gives comfort

I was a senior in High School class of 79. I was into disco ,funk, and all kinds of dance music in that era. I do recall hearing this song on the radio but not really into it at the time. Now, after all these years and listening to it, I believe it's one of the most beloved love ballads ever written ❤️. RIP Mr Van warmer.

I just listened to this 45 the other day. Whenever I listen to my 45s and 33s, it is like I am traveling in a time machine, and it takes me back to the year the song was released. I always associate songs with where I was at that point in my life, what age I was when the song was released. It really makes me sad that music will never be as good as this. The 70s, 80s, and 90s were amazing decades in music. Now, not so much.

When it rained however you could hear the loud roaring sound of it on the roof. Very soon after that holiday, this track came out and graced the charts, in September of the above-mentioned year.
