On a previous video regarding gas line traps/dirty legs you asked me; "Terminology varies around the country. Which ones where the issue?" My main issue was lack of frequent use of the term 'back-up wrench'. There were others, but without the video to review, I am not remembering precisely what they were. Possibly regarding pipe dope, which many refer to as sealant? I commend you for taking it down for touch up and/or review though, and hope you have a great day. Mine will be spent with furnaces, also known as 'money makers', since lows of 20° are forecast here soon. 😎
You are 100% correct on needing and using terming backup wrench. I was taught the pipe dope was to make it so the connections would not seize. I used the term pipe thread sealant per the name on the container. I did have a customer get very upset about me having "dope" in her house. Haha was awkward trying to explain. Now days those issues are more now than before. I also learned some places don't allow teflon at all as it deteriorates and can leak. Lastly I learned that galvanizing is now being allowed. I'm still trying to get 100% clarity on unions and flex inside the furnace cabinet. Thanks for bringing up the issues so I can get them corrected.
Thanks for this video! I just purchased a replacement smart valve (SV9500M-2682) and just out of the 30-day warranty period the coil has started making a fairly loud clacking noise when it's energized. Now I know what's going on in there and feel a little safer (I thought it was a relay, which worried me more). Do you have any experience with them 'clacking'?
Of course, it's built to last just past warranty! 🤣🤫 I have had many issues with the smart valve. Some customers have comailned of the opening and closing the valve makes. Without hearing it myself I coul not tell you for sure. If you end up having to replace it again check out the Emerson 50I56D-905, Intelligent Valve Retrofit Kit.
@@love2hvac Thanks for the response and info. Yeah they timed the out-of-warranty clacking just right! I don't think the Emerson kit applies to my situation but hopefully I won't need to consider any other options. I'll just let the thing clack away and pretend it's 'working as designed'.
This guy s the best hvac on RUclips
After long time you uploaded a video
I was waiting for your video for 2 years

Can you give a short video on the inside and outside wiring diagrams of fryer gas valve with high limit switch? Thank you
Are there conversions from electric ignitor to normal pilot?
Not that I know of
