Thanks Patrick! Realy appreciate the compliment! She really was a nice little kit to put together. Now I've decided to "collect the set" of Tamiya Marders! Cheers mate!
Hi Pete. Nice result. Odd to give you the radio rack but no radio! I've started Italeri's Marder III H. The guns a bit shabby so I'm going to slot in Tamiya's dependable PAK 40 in it's place. Dimensions look ok and it's cheap improvement. The crew is not good (understatement) so they shall be replaced. It's got new running gear included which looks nice. Thanks for the build vid. Cheers Matt
Hi Matt, Yeah it is a bit odd, but then, Tamiya usually bases it's kits on real life examples, so maybe the one they sampled was like that. I actually have one of those Italeri Marder's in a box of kits I built back in the '70's, so I know where you're coming from with the gun. Not the greatest. Great idea replacing it with the Tamiya Pak! Glad you liked the build! Cheers mate!
Enjoyed the video. Actually starting to put this one together myself and as I’m still a bit of a novice I found this very helpful! A few suggestions, one to play some music during the build part of the video and secondly I thought your yellow text commentary was good but you didn’t leave it up on the screen long enough to read. Thanks!
Hi mate! Thanks for looking in and glad you enjoyed the video, and really happy you found it helpful. The music part I've always been 50/50 on. I only use the music that comes with my editing program and, to be honest, most of it is just...annoying. The title music I use is probably one of the better tracks I found in the editor. But then again, maybe it is time to reconsider it. As for the text bit, always wondered about that but you're the first person to specifically mention it in all this time, so thank you for that. So yes, in future videos I will keep the text up longer. That will not be a problem. Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated! Cheers!
Hi mate, As far as buildability, they're Tamiya kits, and there's never a problem there, and will go together just like this Marder II. As far as the actual variants, the Marder III was just an improvement, the early models, had the Soviet 7.62cm gun, stuck on top of the hull, and the later M's had the Pak 40, mounted in a proper superstructure towards the rear. I've recently picked up a Tamiya Marder III early type, and hope to have a review of it out shortly. Hope this answers your question (a little bit at least). Cheers!
@PetesKits yes thanks Pete,I think the marder 111 was built on a panzer 3 chassis so maybe a little bit bigger, but I'm not to sure about that but have done a cracking job on the marder 11 kit Pete.
@@Kitsnbits Thanks mate, Glad you liked the build. I really liked the way she came out. The Marder III was built on the old, tried and true, Czech 38(t) chassis, so, not much bigger than the Marder II. The Marder series of tank destroyers is one of my favourites. Not sure why, they just have that "something" about them! Cheers!
hello dear Pete;your work is beautiful!i built this kit 30 years ago and he got me much pleasure,i love the Tamiya kits, cheers from France Patrick
