I was camping in wonnagatta one year. One morning, i went for a fish and was standing on a tree trunk that had fallen across the river. Wild dogs are always a possibility... I have experienced it myself whilst hunting the State Forests and decided it was smarter to go back to my car when confronted by 2 animals.. I have also monitored one of my carcass's and noted in 3 weeks there was nothing left.. So yes, there can be foul play, however do not rule out nature..

When I lived off grid next to a state forrest, once I crashed off a ravine, due to a stuck throttle, and when I came back to recover the vehicle it had been vandalised. Many vehicles were dumped and torched along the tracks regularly. One day while returning home in the dark, 2 4wd's were ripping it up on a mound beside the road. One vehicle was facing me with all there spotties on even a roof mounted light bar. It was blinding me for 1km along this straight. I repeatedly flashed my highbeams to alert them to the inconsideration, then tooted as I went past. They both then pursued me with lights blaring, tailgating and dangerous driving. I had to lose them before my driveway to escape the 2 car loads.

Maybe the perpetrator has been to , is from Tasmania. I do hope the relevant investigators are liaising with each other , maybe a check of passenger lists around these times might find a link?

Whitlock was 72 - who the heck gets up at 3am to drive out to a remote bush track? and surely to god you would at least leave a note for your wife in case she woke up? Solar security cameras could be installed, a tracking chip on all firearms in this country may assist but firearms licences are too easily obtained at the moment which puts out police force in danger. I hope the culprit/s are found soon before more people meet with this demise.

Solar security cameras could be installed, a tracking chip on all firearms in this country may assist but firearms licences are too easily obtained at the moment which puts out police force in danger. I hope the culprit/s are found soon before more people meet with this demise.
