I'm just watching this again after really loving it a few years ago. I still do. I remember why I liked it so much: the movements were fluid, efficient, not flashy. We seem to be addicted to the big moves now. When I first saw this, I thought, "that's something I could train myself to do", and I did so. I may never be as good as some of the women in this video, but I'll keep going.
I did a taster day in Leeds a few years ago, and just loved it. This is so inspiring, I'd love to have a local group - I've looked into going to London but it's a difficulty getting there. I'd love to do more, and am working on my strength training and getting back into CV after a tendon injury, but I want to learn the techniques properly. Can anyone share any tips please? The only group I can find in my area isn't PG and it has an age limit of something like 18-35 - it seems mostly 18 year old guys doing flips and stuff, which is beyond me (at the min! :-) ) I'd like to do something achievable and less intimidating. Thanks for any advice!
I like PK Newkid's response. I like the fluidity of movement here, with emphasis on that, not on how many tricks one can cram into a video as is kind of the norm with male practitioners. I like that everything was kept simple and efficient...fundamentals all the way. But seriously, for shoes ladies? You couldn't have just sent a picture?
I'm glad to see a vid with girls doing parkour! Keep doing these! This is great! (I'm using these links to show my friends who are like "but I don't see girls doing parkour" cause I want them to go running with me!)
Nice view of the city, thank you Julie Angel ! This video encourages to persevere (first injury few days ago with a cat leap ^^) That looks so easy when you see it, keep up the good work :D
Look, I do Parkour (I'm actually recovering now from a parkour injury) and this is still parkour, despite perhaps not being people doing death-defying stunts. SO, those who were going to leave a dislike, how about you leave this page untouched, back out of RUclips, shut down your account and proceed to do the following with your life when you are under the misinterpretation that many of you can do better than these girls.
Actually really enjoyed this, I'm seeing a lot of hate in the comments, Anyone else with a passion for parkour/freerunning will appreciate all skill levels, to everyone out there hating obviously you just want to see the "awesome" and "cool" big stunts and hard movements, but appreciate what parkour is, and the basics of it, it doesn't have to be crazy to be good!
Correction, people do understand the difference between Parkour and Freerunning, FREE movement that one chooses to express based off what they are comfortable with......so if your going to get frustrated over a little thing like that chances are you need a review. Why would you even to try and segregate Freerunners and Tracuers. Parkour and Freerunning are both natural, they both take just as much skill, practice, time, energy, etc. If your a true traceur or freerunner you would respect both. :D
I'm almost 60 years old and let me tell ya.....I don't think I could have done this when I was 20...lol These young people are awsome. Looks to me like it takes a great deal of skill, strength, balance, and stamina. You go girls !!
props to them for putting a video like this up. there were definitely some good jumps, however it seemed like only a couple were doing more serious jumps than the rest. the story line was kind of cheesy, but the footage was pretty good.
I pretty much think what we all first think about is that fancy lady doing parkour with her high heels hhahahaha, nice video Julie Angel as the others x)
Its just so cool :) And with the small gag, its just too funny XD Girls and parcour seems a nice thing (People maybe get more shocked if the see a girl doing randomly some jumps :D )
honestly i liked this. sure the parkour wasn't OMG THATS SO AMAZING HOW THEY DO THAT but it looked clean, the production quality was good, I enjoyed this.
We preach how we want to be 'equal' and a 'fair' chance for everyone then EVERY SINGLE TRACEUR AND FREERUNNER should know that competition is an illusion. We are all equal in our own rights. These girls have done the best that they can do and I am sure as i sit here typing this that they have a lot more to do and a lot more to give. Just like how we post vids of our progression; they have created a video of their progression. They, in their own rights, have freed their minds.
lol: ladies who love shoes love parkour! nice ! :) i'm a guy and it's weird to see women actually doing parkour, but personally i think that's a good thing, u know refreshing ;) keep up the good work x
@uppersymphony u are right that may be what it's for i'm just saying the definition of parkour as well as explaining the difference between parkour and freerunning because freerunning involves more 'for show' than getting somewhere so yes i do agree
Rather cool. Perhaps some would see it as tame, but it doesn't have to be extreme to serve its purpose. I'm glad to see women taking it up as well as guys. Urban movement writ large. Nice work.
Not bad. In fact, I like it! It seems like a classy, tasteful alternative to all the other male parkour videos floating around, and I don't often see girls doing parkour so it's interesting in that aspect also. Definite fav! :D
@dragoron the thruth is i didnt get it from wiki i got it from 700 different books... i did a project on it with my friend. all the books said the same thing THEN we tried going to wiki, still the same thing...

hey man this stuff is crazy cause i remember i was 11 and i would climb things and jump on stuff like these people, and i never heard or seen parkour in my life then so its cool
@shadowparrot A lot of professional free runners started out as gymnasts and had been doing gymnastics for years before they started free running. There are now free running/parkour gyms with courses. If you don't already attend one, you should.
too true. I can do most of this stuff, but there were a couple nice thief vaults in there, a couple good kongs, etc. Plus it's nice to see girls are getting in to this sport
This is a great video, I wish I could do stuff like this, but I don't have the capability to do such...I have sports asthma and that hinders me from doing such DX I would do it as much as I could before I get tired though.
People can't seem to understand the difference between parkour and freerunning. THIS is parkour. If you want freerunning with flips and shit, go watch a freerunning video.
@lovedolars it more or less depends on grip and weight in ur shoes. but really, you need all sorts of other things like great balance, flexibility, etc
I'm just watching this again after really loving it a few years ago. I still do. I remember why I liked it so much: the movements were fluid, efficient, not flashy. Its good to finally see people actually doing just parkour. No random flips or any flashy stuff. Great video!!!

I love how they look at their phone and "Damn, time to run"
LOVED IT! Their movements are so fluid and natural with the environment.
Nice view of the city, thank you Julie Angel ! This video encourages to persevere (first injury few days ago with a cat leap ^^) That looks so easy when you see it, keep up the good work :D

I'm happy to finally find some women doing parkour! It's an amazing sport but it'd be nice to see more women active in it.
Iäm into martial arts aswell. Really eases things up. I also gym 3-4 times/week. Perfect coctail for parkour.

you're my inspiration. thank you.

You girlies inspire me to become a better traceuse. Keep up the fantastic attitude ^_^ xx
Best female self defence technique I've ever seen.
This sounds like some music I would be running to on my iPod. :)
how could anyone dislike this?
do you think parkour is all about flips and spins? it's simple movements used to get through an environment.
Adorei o vídeo!
Quero começar a treinar!
good parkour skills by the ladies keep up the good work =]

@uppersymphony u are right that may be what it's for i'm just saying the definition of parkour as well as explaining the difference between parkour and freerunning because freerunning involves more 'for show' than getting somewhere so yes i do agree

Nice work.
Tell me where you can use diving, other than a swimming pool...
Not bad. In fact, I like it! It seems like a classy, tasteful alternative to all the other male parkour videos floating around, and I don't often see girls doing parkour so it's interesting in that aspect also. Definite fav! :D

It was pretty simple parkour, but the filming was very nice, good job.
