It's not primitive, it's smart. Poor people must be clever and creative - we all should learn from them.

When I was in Argentina I travel from Buenos Aires to Tierra de Fuego and return in 6 weeks.... 13'404 km.
One day i had a problem with the car I rented night was arriving far from everything.
When I saw the lights of an estancia (ranch) I ask them for a bed.
Next day they show me the estancia and was more than astonished of the autonomy level they reached.
They have only land and water so they produce their own electricity with generators running on locally produced natural gaz who also feeds cars and tractors.
Self sufficient, totally

Well I appreciated many places in Argentina.
But these places are not those who are the most appreciated by tourists.
I was 10 times in Argentina searching for new home, had the project to live there the rest of my life...
Until I was agressed and robbed in the street....
So I change my projects and I invest in another country...
But Argentina remains beautiful, fantastic even if being rapidly one of most insecure country of South America.
The parts I really appreciated were the Patagonian south, inside land or Atlantic coast, all the Andes Cordillera, more north, Entre Rios, Tucuman, Salta, Jujuy...

In less than 2 years, criminality was one of the main business in all major cities.

오늘도 평화로운 케냐. 오늘은 소똥을 이용해서 천연가스를 만들어 볼껀데요. 비닐백에 소똥과 물을 넣어 발효시키면 메탄가스 나오죠. 이걸 큰 비닐봉지에 담아서 들고가는 재미에 큰형님도 빠질 수 없죠. 두번째로 밀을 방아 찧어서 밀가루를 만들어 볼건데요. 기아 모닝 나왔죠. 끝난거나 다름 없습니다. 세번째는 땅굴로 들어가 톱으로 점토암을 잘라서 화로를 만들죠. 낭만적이라 하기엔 너무 힘들어 보이죠.

原始的というか持続可能なエネルギーです。
（メタンは引火性が高い上、無色無臭なのでガスとして活用するには危ないし、臭気を付けるより現地で燃料電池や火力発電で電気エネルギーとして安定供給されます）

A a child growing up in Ethiopia, I lived with my aunt who had cattle's, and used to mix to manure with grass pie and let it dry in the sun. Sold them at $.25C each in addition to the milk. Good memories.
What is 'primitive' about any of this? That is such condescending language. It is cheap,easy, very efficient and has multiple benefits. Do mind your language.
The best is: after the fermation they can use what's left over for gardening. It's the best fertilizer thinkable.

There is nothing primitively about the biogas production in Kenya, that's exactly how it is produced! The equipment used i irrelevant, and what is more important is the final product...if u can use it then that's all that matters! Big industries will have u fooled into thinking that only they can produce all the necessary products for mankind! BS!!!

Great stuff. I do like a good bio gas video, but the word primitive does not work here. These are modern tools and understanding of methanogenic bacteria, which we've used to our benefit. Nothing ancient or primitive about it.

This exist for many years, the only thing safety part is an issue, there is not a regulation currently in biogas

Probably would have been better to call it "simple" or "inexpensive" or "low cost" rather than primitive.
We don't call this primitive, but sustainable development. The organic matter will provide both manure and cooking gas. Getting to know about the depletion of conventional resources and environment pollution, it's rather a better way to prevent them. Moreover, it's cost effective.

Its being called primitive because they are in Africa if people here in NZ did this the title would be 'Off grid' 'Self Sufficient' or 'Organic' . Also giant rubber bags, hose clamps and plastic piping are simple but hardly privative technology. If someone drinks coffee out of a ceramic mug do you say look at the privative technology this person is using to consume their beverage!! I bet mugs are more ancient than biogas harvesting.
