They build amazing guitars, most of the builders were from Jackson, B.C. Rich and Moonstone guitars. I never liked what Ed did to Gary Jacobs, Rick Turner and Mcnaught, stealing their designs, but his team built some of the best guitars out there, love his Jaros, way better than the originals for what I heard. Now that Ed is dead maybe they drop the prices on their Quicksilvers
I just placed an order with these guys for a custom build. I am looking forward to getting it. The only crappy part about it is that I might be waiting up to a year for it to be finished. But it will be well worth it.
Talked to Ed back in 99' and he had Allen pick me out a BC Rick Gunslinger neck to fit a walnut body I had. He gave me a good deal on a Floyd Rose (original made in Germany by Schaller) to go with it as well. Also, FYI, those are Jackson Rhodes & King Vs - Not Flying Vs. - "Flying V" is a Gibson Trademark name. All of those guitars were Jacksons. (Not being a dick, just telling)
+cbond99 yah man, there was tons of nice there. I didnt film the show room. I should have. I still think about it. The roman guitars are very well built and play like butter. I talked to Ed briefly. Of course it was all about the upsell.. to buy a nice guitar. They start at $1600. I couldnt afford it at the time and I didnt want to waste his time. Maybe I'll go back this summer. The stores around here dont have anything that good except for the high end PRS which I'm not really into. The semi hollow mephis Les Pauls are killer though. I may get one of those some day.
I think that has more to do with the quality of construction, straight neck/frets, good pickups and bridge. The wood can make some difference but the other things play a bigger role. I'd rather have a light weight guitar that looks plain as opposed to a heavy guitar that looks fancy.
George Lucas that is not what I mean. I prefer light weight so my back paim won't become unbearing after playing for ten minutes. As for Les Paul tone, they say the chambers in the body help the tone in addition to reducing weight.
The only thing I never liked about all those guitars are the inlays, binding and expensive looking tops that dont add nothing to the sound, PRS ruined a generation of builders with his beauty queens
,FUCKING BAFDASS, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT WHAT ANYONE SAYS ABOUT ROMAN GUITARS, THAT PLACE IS AWESOME. I BUILD GUITARS AND I SAW NOTHING BUT QUALITY IN THIS VIDEO.
From what I've learned, it seems like Ed Roman was a dick. He said that every single one of his copies, licensed or not (*Cough cough* B.C. Rich *cough cough*) was better than the real thing. He also said that there's no such thing as a USA factory or custom shop and that all of those guitars are just Asian with "Made is USA" stamped on
Yeah I heard him say that and its BS....I have personally seen Fender's and the old Ibanez USA shops. I am also acquainted with Moser who can tell you some interesting things about Ed's BC Rich counterfeits. I think I even saw a future counterfeit Alembic in this video
Lol. Too bad the guy that was showing the camera guy around was pretty much speaking Chinese to him. I don't think the guy shooting this is well versed in guitar building lingo.
man seeing those bc rich blanks is heaven 😇
Ed's old shop had 4 owners ...hell on earth.ha
Miss you ..you bastard.

I don't really like purple guitars, but that purple one at 3:56 looked beautiful

This is guitar porn lol. Love everything from Ed Roman saw in this video. I wish I could go someday and custom order a guitar.

+cbond99 Believe it or not i actually know all this. I may have been in a dizzy spell where I forget words.
+survivor030406 You were probably star struck brother. I would have been, seeing all those custom axes.

I wouldn't mind having this, basically a DTM Guitar
They have some real nice looking slabs of wood.... Quilted/spalted/birds eye maple looks great but why should it sound great?

Meaning a (heavy) Les Paul won't sound good? ;)

Wow wood 🪵 what a joke....ha
Love you 4ever Ed Roman.....Ray

I talked to these guys the other day, hopefully if I can raise enough money I´ll have them make a Bernie Rico Jr Vixen or a green acrylic Warlock.
Dude sounds like Johnny Depp.
