Sally Acorn is from Sonic SatAM tv show. Archie doesn’t own her, they only own the elements in the comics. Sally and the Freedom fighters are own by Sega and the TV rights.

Every female characters in the IDW Comics (Tangle, Jewel, Whisper and Lanolin), along with IDW Amy and Prime's Rouge, have traits of Sally Acorn's personality such as leadership, premeditation, compassion and authority. Sally is such an amazing character, she's being emulated by others. Plus, she's the only true girlfriend for Sonic, even becoming his wife in the future. Others are just one timer like Merna and Elise, one sided like Sarah, Amy and Mina, and exes like Madonna, Breezie and Fiona.

I'm not sure why there that many sonamy fans at all, I was borne mid 90s and I grew up with:ed, edd, and eddy, fairly odd parents, and chowder. All of which had clingy girls whose advances towards their love interest always made the boys uncomfortable, scared, and disturbed. I will say that that's the main reason I dislike Amy being Sonic's girl, just doesn't seem right, HOWEVER she was not nearly as bad as Tootie who was the least uhhhh harassing? I've started with Sonic Adventure and never got into the comics and to me the best moments of Amy? When she's not focused on Sonic. Seeing her connect to Gamma, Shadow, and Silver was just special cause all the characters at the time seemed like they couldn't be swayed. That's the main reason I dislike her being the girl, it would create a barrier to what makes Amy special. As for Sally I love her because of tge depth she brings the world, I've only watched Satam and a few episodes of Sonic X. Her being a princess added more stakes to the world, she was to take over if Robotnik was overthrown, making her equally important as Sonic. They seemed to mesh well and balance each other out, she's the only character I can think who can reign in his brazenes. People are just mad that the clearly onesided love( Sonic's always uncomfortable cmon) was not in the comics as they came from the games. And as for all the bad things Sally apparently got into? I have learned after looking up why there is no Chronicles 2 that there were a handful of writers who for some reason went out of there way to wreck Sally's character.
Note: Sally's first debut was not the comics, but the SATAM cartoon on September 18th of 1993, with the first concepts of her being shown on December 25th of 1991. Amy didn't appear until September 23rd of 1993 in Japan with the release of Sonic CD & wouldn't appear in America until November 19th of the same year. Sally basically became Sonic's first gf before Amy, but that was only in the west.
While I've always preferred Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog over SatAM, I'm actually for a Sally Acorn figure. She hasn't had a figure since Sega World in Sydney was active.

i generally don’t like the idea of bringing the freedom fighters into the main games, as they have nothing to make them really…stand out, but i don’t think the hate for a fuckin’ figure is deserved. sally’s a cool character, she doesn’t deserve to be forgotten, really. a figure of her would be cool (if it ever saw the light of day).
I feel like Amy no longer obsesses over Sonic as much in Frontiers onwards, knowing she can’t win Sonic’s love, so she decides to share her love with the world, tho I’m sure she hasn’t given up on Sonic based on TMOSTH, and the IDW comics. What if Sonic reunites with Sally and when Amy meets her, she’s more cooled down, instead of her usual dominant, “Sonic’s my boyfriend” kinda thing and maybe they even become best friends like in the Archie Comics.

I'd love for some official merch of characters from the supplemental material of the franchise. Cosmo (Sonic X), Scratch & Grounder (Aosth), Fleetway Super Sonic. Both the live-action movies and IDW comics have been shown a lot of love by SEGA, appearing in movie games and official merch. So, why not show more recognition to some of the older stuff too?

I don't have any strong feelings toward Sally Acorn, but all I can think of is those people who got mad at everyone who was happy that King K. Rool was in Smash. Like, they were all "He hasn't shown up in ten years! It shouldn't be a big deal that he's showing up now!" when everyone else was like "He hasn't shown up in ten years! An abandoned character being brought back in a big way is a big deal!" This is why I stay on the outskirts of fandom. (Note: I was rooting for Dixie Kong with a unique moveset based around her ponytail, but an abandoned character being brought back in a big way is a big deal. And no Dixie is probably better than Diddy-clone Dixie.)

Shadow in Prime is surprisingly decent; he acts as a mentor figure, and a disgruntled alternative to Sonic, even though they do make them fight like twice. It’s not their best incarnations, but Shadow is way better here than he was in early IDW.

This is why I hate the Sonic fan base and stay far away from it. It has devolved into toxic Sega canon supremacy that has many fan brats that treat the DiC cartoons and the Archie series (and possibly Fleetway Sonic) as blasphemy (when they were merely the result of Sega of America and Sega of Japan not keeping in contact, therefore Sega of America made their own series bible for Sonic) and needing to be erased from existence, and anyone who likes them are to be treated like terrorists.

Even if they haven't used it much, thanks to a certain annoying person who helped ruin archie Sonic, it is the design they can use should Sally ever make a come-back. And kinda hard to make much fan-art when the new design was hardly able to get off the ground. Still, new design exists. So the argument of an official nakid Sally is invalid.

Yea it causes no harm and you're just joining apart of the community you enjoy. Sonic as a series is far too big for everyone to agree or even consume all of it.
I'm not sure why there that many sonamy fans at all, I was borne mid 90s and I grew up with:ed, edd, and eddy, fairly odd parents, and chowder. All of which had clingy girls whose advances towards their love interest always made the boys uncomfortable, scared, and disturbed.
I will say that that's the main reason I dislike Amy being Sonic's girl, just doesn't seem right, HOWEVER she was not nearly as bad as Tootie who was the least uhhhh harassing?
I've started with Sonic Adventure and never got into the comics and to me the best moments of Amy? When she's not focused on Sonic. Seeing her connect to Gamma, Shadow, and Silver was just special cause all the characters at the time seemed like they couldn't be swayed. That's the main reason I dislike her being the girl, it would create a barrier to what makes Amy special.
As for Sally I love her because of tge depth she brings the world, I've only watched Satam and a few episodes of Sonic X. Her being a princess added more stakes to the world, she was to take over if Robotnik was overthrown, making her equally important as Sonic. They seemed to mesh well and balance each other out, she's the only character I can think who can reign in his brazenes.
People are just mad that the clearly onesided love( Sonic's always uncomfortable cmon) was not in the comics as they came from the games.
And as for all the bad things Sally apparently got into? I have learned after looking up why there is no Chronicles 2 that there were a handful of writers who for some reason went out of there way to wreck Sally's character.

Note: Sally's first debut was not the comics, but the SATAM cartoon on September 18th of 1993, with the first concepts of her being shown on December 25th of 1991. Amy didn't appear until September 23rd of 1993 in Japan with the release of Sonic CD & wouldn't appear in America until November 19th of the same year. Sally basically became Sonic's first gf before Amy, but that was only in the west.

I will admit after hearing about what that person tweeted just made my blood boil because I can not stand when people ruin it for others, I get it that they hate the character, fair enough, I get it they like to "ship" Sonic with Amy, that is all aok, but they need to have respect for the others, this is how fanwars start and if that person was a real fan they would of been respectful to the other fans.

I don't have any strong feelings toward Sally Acorn, but all I can think of is those people who got mad at everyone who was happy that King K. Rool was in Smash. Like, they were all "He hasn't shown up in ten years! It shouldn't be a big deal that he's showing up now!" when everyone else was like "He hasn't shown up in ten years! An abandoned character being brought back in a big way is a big deal!" This is why I stay on the outskirts of fandom. (Note: I was rooting for Dixie Kong with a unique moveset based around her ponytail, but an abandoned character being brought back in a big way is a big deal. And no Dixie is probably better than Diddy-clone Dixie.)

Seriously, while I don't mind the ship, I don't see why anyone would ship Sonic and Amy. The type of things she said and did in the Adventure Era is the type of thing that would Scar someone for life. Sonic in Prime is wildly different; he’s younger and way more immature. Shadow in Prime is surprisingly decent; he acts as a mentor figure, and a disgruntled alternative to Sonic, even though they do make them fight like twice.
It’s not their best incarnations, but Shadow is way better here than he was in early IDW.
