    Honestly, i would very much like a pt. 2 of this. The fact that it is entirely fictional means you dont lose much time on trying to establish what would be "grounded" and can focus more on telling an interesting and still somewhat plausible story without having to justify yourself all the time.
    Also, props for always coming up with unique videos instead of rigidly sticking to the same 1 or 2 formats like so many do. Things like this or the Pokemon Conquest video, which both deviate from "standard" content, are always a joy to watch ^^

    I don’t think that Mexico would join the Central Powers, considering the Main Reason for Mexico even being offered the idea was that it was to regain it’s old land, but in this case if Mexico and Britain have good ties, I could see the Mexican Empire join WW1 similar to the French in the Crimean War, to show off Mexico’s Army and it’s prestige.
    And then likely enter a period of isolation due to how bloody the war was similar to the United States did after WW1.

    I feel that the absence of the Mexican-American war is a huge oversight. The US would be out for blood against both the British and Mexicans while simultaneously being much more expansionistic due to the larger influence of slave owners. The agrarian and totalitarian Mexicans empire would also piss off the northern Tejas families who would still be economically dependent on the US just due to geography. We probably wouldn't see a two ocean USA but I can definitely see the US annexing Texas still and the western side of the Mississippi River to expand plantations.

    • @Zhijia494

      In this universe Mexico is more friendly to Europeans, seeing as Mexico opened itself up to Europeans. I see Mexico as a more extreme of the Southern US with the creole elite of Mexico wanting to court the Europeans, which happened in our own timeline as well, and thus more identifying with a more "white" identity. I admit I know less about the US compared to Mexico at this time, but I think the Tejas families wouldn't have it that bad.

      @@Zhijia494 the main problem wasn't racism, Mexicans and American immigrants got along pretty well in the north. It was the fact that northern Mexico was so far away from Mexico city and the souhtern valley that the central government had little control. Leading the north to be more self sufficient. Any time Mexico did try and assert dominance there was always rebellions. Mind you, when the Republic of Texas rebelled it was doing it along with the Republic of the Rio Gande and a few bands of rebel fighters in Chihuahua. It was a whole thing of the Mexican authorities overreaching their ability to project power.

Causing a stronger Mexico and a stronger bureaucracy, allow them to project power much further. Of course this is pure speculation.

Whereas the British objectives were keep Canada and prevent an alliance between America and Napoleonic France, I would say that of the objectives that remained relevant at the end, Britain met them and America didn’t resulting in technical US defeat.

    As an American, I despise the state of the USA in this alternate history.
    That being said, please make a part 2. I would love to see how WW1 would play out with major fighting on both Europe and North America.
    I would bet on The USA joining the central powers, whether due to a higher percentage of German Americans in this timeline, or because America and Germany allying is very convenient.
    While Mexico and Canada both fight on the side of the Entente to get rid of the Americans, as they both hate America more than they hate each other.
    In this timeline I could also see America turn to more radical political ideas, fueled by hatred toward both Mexico and Canada for what they took from the US. Perhaps a much more politically involved military, adapting the constitution to replace the executive branch with the Military or something like that.
    Germany could use the USA to fight Canada to prevent it from supplying nearly as much to the Brits. In this timeline I presume Canada would take on a role similar to the USA in our timeline, selling and providing huge amounts of military aid to the Entente.
    I really don't see a reason for Mexico joining the Central powers, I would expect them to either join Canada to get rid of the USA or abstain completely in order to focus on internal affairs. Mexico would be fairly self-sufficient in almost every regard in this timeline.

You'd probably deify Oliver Cromwell as the archetype of a strong Lord Protector... and his son... Richard Cromwell, (Queen Dick or Tumble Down Dick, as he was known after his deposition by the New Model Army... AND... the subsequent abolishment of the Office, 'Lord Protector', sliding back into the Council Governance that preceded the Protectorate's establishment in 1653, following the abolishment of our Crown, Priv-Council and House of Lords in the wake of the trial and execution of Charles I in 1649... with similar catastrophic consequences both times you attempt it),... as the archetype of a weak Lord Protector.

      US forces only really arrived in Europe a couple months before the wars' end, though the US declaration of war did urge the Germans to execute the spring offensive early.
      Likely the war would be prolonged to early 1919, so by a few months. The Turks were doomed to lose to the British from 1916; likewise the British were closing in on the Bulgarians through the Balkans from 1917. The Austro-hungarians meanwhile simply expended too much fighting the Russians that when 1917-18 came, even when they had effectively won the fight on the Eastern Front, they were hard pressed in fighting the Italians.
      After those lads collapsed, it would only be a matter of time that Germany would fall too - as it did.

    Additional point: On might also wonder on the erosion of Mexican control over the Northern Territories as Europeans become the main population group of these areas - and the subsequent socio-political changes which would emerge and complicate the North American Balance of Power.

    • @kioskooperativo7266

      México didn't actually start to encourage immigration until the early XX Century. And US settlers asked to be allowed to migrate to the Texas, they were arriving in such large numbers that México had to put restrictions. Religion was also a factor back then, US settlers were supposed to convert to Catholicism in exchange for being allowed, and USA itself was anti-Catholic back then. So European Catholics would have preferred to migrate to México.

    A cool scenario would be an alternate version of the “Soviets winning the Cold War” where “THE COLD WAR ‘NEVER’ ENDS”. Basically that timeline just without the US and western powers getting terrible luck. But the Cold War, space race, etc all continue into the future.

    I find it hard to believe that Mexico would be able to hold itself together for very long in this scenario. Too many factors like geography, a desire for democracy, and the lack of industrialization from the alternate history would eventually lead to it's collapse: I'd imagine Texas would likely get support from the usa and take most of the Louisiana territory with it after it's war for independence and it could either join the usa, doubling the size of the usa and formally giving it the Louisiana territory, or remain it's own nation and replace Mexico as a new Super Power; and the irl Southwest Region (California to New Mexico) would likely gain it's own independence too at some point if the Mexican Empire can't hold it's possible weak control on those lands. New California (Grande Pacifica?) would be a very liberal nation similar to Canada, while New Texas would likely have similar politics to irl Texas.

      Mexico maintaining an estable regime, and Mexico keeping control of Texas are too different things. The second one is do-able without the need of an Empire, or large European immigration, or Mexico positioning itself as a valuable ally to the British. You just have to get Santa Anna out of the equation. Santa Anna changed the system to a Centralist regime which mean that laws like converting to Catholicism, Abolition of Slavery, restriction on migration from USA would enforced directly by the Central goverment without any possibility of getting The governor to negotiate on their behalf or look the other way. The rebellion was very likely to have happened eventually but it would have been stalled had Mexico not gone Centralist. Santa Anna also chose to go to Texas in person and took a nap in rebel territory without taking the proper precautions which led to his capture. An Emperor or President would have delegated the responsability to someone else. So even if the military leader in charge of the campaign made the exact same mistakes as Santa Anna, he wouldn't be able to offer much if captured. Santa Anna also promised the US he would convince the Mexican goverment to sell the territories they wanted if he was allowed to return to Mexico. Once in Mexico he seized power and backed down on his offer to sell those territories. In one of the first battles of the US-Mexico War Mexico lost the battle because Santa Anna refused to support a political rival.

      @Anim1013 Год назад +1

      @@kioskooperativo7266 Going off the alt history in the video, I don't think Santa Ana is really all that needed for Texas to happen. Like you said, the rebellion could likely still happen, it just happens later, and it'd be to the expansion of slavery from the American immigrants. IRL the USA supported the Texas rebellion by supplying them with weapons and supplies, however in this alt history I think the USA would be much more supportive with motive that the USA could potentially get the Louisiana territory in exchange for aiding the Texans. Mexico in this alt history it stated to be less industrialized and more agricultural in order to help suppress rebellion, however a foreign-born rebellion might counter this ideal. A much heavier supported and more militarized Texas army might be able to fight off the Mexican army, but I think an argument can even be made to say that the USA could potentially join the war itself in support of the Texas rebels: The idea that Americans are emigrating to Mexico with slaves in this alt history implies that there is still the idea of manifest destiny in the heads of the Americans, and the denial of The Louisiana purchase could possibly embolden this alt USA to take more drastic actions in expanding its borders. The Texas rebellion could just be what kicks off the alt Mexican-American war, The only difference being that the alt USA would only expand to Texas instead of all the way to California like irl.

      @kioskooperativo7266 Год назад

      @@Anim1013 in IRL México only embraced industrialization and immigration until the regime of dictator Porfirio Díaz. They don't mean agricultural power as opposed to Industrial power, but as opposed to no economic power. In this alternate history Mexico actively encouraged immigration early on, which would most likely be Catholics or from Christian minorities associated to the Vatican (like some in the Middle East). Some of them would already have combat experience because mercenary was a rather common line of work in Europe at the time. And many would be strongly opposed to the idea of moving to a Catholic country only to be annexed by a Protestant one. Like how the Saint Patrick battalion defected to Mexico's side in real life.

    Note on the ending off headed to ww1, it seems far more likely that Germany would attempt to wedge Canada from the UK, and if that fails the US would rush to fill in for Canada, rather than Mexico being a first choice for Germany. I won’t deny Germany wants Mexico from an economic standpoint, however it seems more beneficial for Mexico to tie themselves to the UK no matter what .
