is the wire hot enough to ignite standard visco fuses without the need to use an accelerant like black/gun/flash powder or crushed match heads? will the wire eventually break? how many times can i expect to use a single assembly?

It actually will do burn a gunpowder even small amount of heat cuz that heat can reach up to as a Matches

Any wire will get hot enough, just a question of how fast.
Which is why i think he's using the nickel instead of copper or whatever ot was

Depends on the material and thickness, metals like aluminum, steel have a high resistance and take more amps to generate heat

u gotta use nichrome wire. the wire from your charger probably isnt nichrome. nichrome wires have a very high resistance, that's why they heat up faster that regular wires. u also need to pay attention to the gauge or thickness of the wire. thicker nichrome wires will ofc need more voltage to heat up.

Better of course use nichrome wire it 100% work. With copper wire will be work but just one time, and maybe you need more power battery, but it is 50%/50%)
