How to make a Pull Pin Fuse

- I make a spring loaded pull pin fuse. It is a very simple pull ring fuse that can be used for airsoft grenades or have a time delay added to it. It works like a strike igniter. The one I made still works even after a piece is broken off. It can also be made with better materials so it will not break.

I feel like I've probably been red flagged for all the research into explosives I've done today, even though the most I'd use this stuff for is making a smoke grenade or two, or maybe digging a fish pond in a few seconds.

To time this for a detonator, you could either put a certain amount of slow-burning fuel between the cap and the explosive, or put a weak pin that will take a certain amount of time and exposure to the tension of the spring further down from the safety pin. But this design is best used for things like smoke grenades and trip devices.
or maybe just attach a wire to the pull pin
You'd be better off changing the title of the video to "How to make a Pull Pin Igniter", as that is what this is.

I think if you fil the part with the exploding cap with some form of incendiary like match powder and insert the fuse in there it will ignite
If a primer was included in this video, it would be considered a video on making explosives and removed by youtube.
Fun fact: if you pry the primer off of any centerfire ammo cartridge you can turn this into a time delay fuse.
Or leave it inside the cartridge and instead remove the bullet and stuff with iron wool and seal it and you have a blasting cap.

you say fuse but really its not a fuse has a delay this is a impact detonator as its more of a firing pin with no delay same method used in a claymore mine
or trip wire to set off mine.
you trip the wire, pulling the pin, firing the pin into the primer, witch in turn detonates the explosive. I design these things =)

This is similar to a grenade fuse and can be modified to include a time delay.Excellent work btw

This is a good design for booby trapping where you want zero delay. Youd have to implement some trype of slow burn layer sectioned with a hole connecting to flash for a grenade. Better make sure you're confident in your fabrication and chemistry ability before attempting.

The music selection was hilariously a nice touch. Sorry I couldn’t help myself. Thanks for the tip. I’ll definitely put it to good use. Also. Strike anywhere match heads in a small metal primer cap. Make sure that the fuse is completely contained separate from your propellant except for a very small opening where the fuse goes through into the casing with your boom. Also make sure the primer cap leads directly to your 3-5second fuse. That’s how a standard hand grenade is made. From a guy who may or may not have been trained in how to macgyver a weapon for any situation out of anything he can find. I want to stress caution test your primer/fuse containment a lot and use consistent materials every time. If you want an even safer (for you) option try mechanical “zip strip” to light your fuse as it leaves your hand in order to ensure it doesn’t cook off in your hand before you throw it

@@mikebergman1817 similar to a zip tie. But it’s from an old banned toy from the 80’s. A gun you pull basically an oversized zip tie through a hole which turned the mechanism making sparks. To do what I mean basically take a larger zip tie super glue the paper just below the head to one side of the inside and the phosphorus strip to the other part of the inside or if you want to be really complex inside the head of the zip tie so that when you pull the zip tie it strikes lighting your “fuse” which is a small cone of powder leading to a thin tightly packed tube of powder leading to the charge. Make shift pull pin. It’ll take some tinkering to get it right.

Mf keep taking packages off my pouch are going to f around and find out when I combine an m-80 with a short fuse tape to an extra large can of bear spray lmao.
You could put this in a makeshift grenade and use it for that. Put a primer for a 22 down under the firing pin and a fuse of some sort under that and you have a timed fuse.

I mean, theoretically you could just use a pen without any ink and drill a hole directly through the ink cartridge. the only issue is how flimsy a pen tube can be, but if it fires hard enough it could work well
still good,,if someone is fallowing you and you set the trip wire to smoke,,it will tell you where and when someone is fallowing,,great little device.

What kind of spring is this? I know it's a compression spring. I guess I should ask where did you get this spring? I've been to Lowe's & their spring sucks. I tried Amazon but I dont understand the dimensions or what kind of force/energy they have.
put some bend in the end of that pin after it goes through the dowel, you don't want it being pushed through on accident.

Why not just use the inside part of the pen that contains the ink, and the tip of the pen, instead of making the wooden piece?

Maybe instead of a cap gun cap you use pistol primers and a small charge of black powder to ignite a cannon fuse

If you use this in cold weather just be warned. The timing might be a little off... by like 5 seconds... it will just go off in your hand.

@The Duzda, have the firing pin hit a pop it rock, (inside the "pop its" there is a little rock with pops on impact.) Wrap the rock in cotton and attach a firework fuse to the cotton leading to the smoke mixture.
Ok but the zippo fuel will have to be added right before the pin pulling, but I hope it works for you.

A time delay can be made with latex rubber band, in sunlight, it biodegrades. instead of using a pin using a ball bearing, ball! the rubber band eventually lets it go! releasing the activator, the same with a thermal activator, a fire sprinkler activates the valve but also can activate anything else.like a striker pin! that initiates a paper cap as in your case.sutch ultimatums potentially could undermine our authority who manipulate law to there own standards so be aware of this fact! and accept the consequences. !

Ramon Rodriguez Potassium permanganate/glycerine; I wouldn't call it slow but thanks for the lead- it's a fantastic reaction I'd never have known about. I might try watering down the glycerine by one or two percent, or mixing some KNO3 in, to see what that does. Thanks man.
