@@slapshot68 I'm pretty sure St. Louis is considered the most dangerous. Baltimore is up there too. But really gun violence is a nationwide problem, no community or city is immune to it's effects.
What great shots of the city. Love when O'Hare is on West Flow (landing 27L, 27R, 28C)...provides much better views on final than East Flow! Thanks for the video
With all the crappy weather of late you manage to get some great shots of the city. Beautiful camera work. Glad you got back and manage to avoid tornado's,micro burst and torrential rain. Luv the RR enginges
I know the big Red roof in view beginning on right at 6:17 is Schurz High School. I used to drive past there on the way to work in 1971-1974. Located at Addison and Milwaukee Ave. Really never knew how big that school campus is!!
Great views of downtown Chicago! I am usually on the ground in Chicago looking up at the aircraft coming into O'Hare. Clearly you did a long turn during final. Amazing to hear that engine spooling up and down, as needed. Great post!
Looks like you came in right over Lincoln Park Zoo/Fullerton Ave and intercepted the ILS somewhere around Portage Park/Montrose Ave., very cool approach!
Good take but actually this was on 28R. This is a 757 and needs the longer runway v 28c which is what you were referring to. I live close to ORD and my office and bedroom look out to the south and I can see all approaches. I also fly out of and into ORD all the time. It does seem that they come in south and reconfigure to 28R. ✌
I'm from Detroit, and I see my former high school from the window sometimes when we take the approach pattern that runs northwest of the airport over the Novi/Farmington Hills area.
In your timestamp on the right of the engine you can see the Home Depot that's next the Kennedy Expressway. The Expressway is the big concrete road that has small bend in the middle of it. Look closely and you can see the orange of the Home Depot that's on Kimball and Addison. Right in between the railroad tracks and the Expressway above the Home Depot you see Joong Boo Market. I go that Korean Market and the Home Depot many times lol
@@justdrive5327 Yeah, we used to live two blocks from the park. But since I made my original comment, I've done like many others: gathered up my family and got us the hell out of that open-air insane asylum.

Great view of downtown Chicago! I admit that having lived my teen years in NY, I'm partial to it. For spectacular city views, nothing can beat coming in and out of LGA.
Yeah, was pretty surreal to me when I flew in there for the first time; we broke through a cloud layer somewhere over Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline materialized into view along with the densely packed neighborhoods below, was captivated all the way to the ground, I thought it was a neat introduction to NYC. Felt the same first time I landed in Chicago/Midway many years ago before I moved here. Both cities are amazing!
I've seen alot of NY plates in Chicago lately. I think the two cities are becoming brothers. More in common than different but still have their own style and feel.
I don’t think any other city or large city is mapped out in a grid like Chicago. I just saw a similar one for NYC and it looks like a beautiful mess lol
Lazy, hazy Chicago landing. But a somewhat rare approach. As I read earlier, this flight is coming from Orlando, so this approach just east of downtown makes sense. Beautiful, but not really common into ORD.
No…. Actually that house is in far north shore suburbs-- about 10-15 miles north of this approach, along Lake Michigan. This vid shows you about 1/3 of the city and very little of the suburbs around Ohare Airport. Chicago is surrounded on three sides by hundreds of suburbs = north, NW, west, SW and south. East is the big Lake Michigan. . A huge metropolis, for sure.
America’s most beautiful city. A big thanks to the person who shared this.

Yes, I’ve been on East and west flow. In short, East flow sucks, west flow is great.
My heart always sinks when I realize on approach that we’re too high to be doing the west flow :(
