Great points. I use a power bank as well and had to use it only once so far. It powered 4 tanks to run air stones wave makers and ran for about 13 hrs so for sure I love it
I really enjoy your channel! You and your brothers have gotten me back into the aquarium world. I bought a 180 gallon, built a sump and loving it again after 10 years. Thank you and keep making videos!
I use rechargeable airpumps here in South Africa. We get load shedding so at times they switch our power off from 2 - 4 hours at a time. This could happen mutiple times a day. I run a generator for extended power outages more than 12 hours. Those battery banks ups systems are really expensive here in South Africa.
Troy, On all my tanks I have the USB Battery backup. I have at least one or two things feeding air into the aquarium and if the power goes out the pumps keep on going for 24 hrs or more. I got them all from Hygger and you can even set them to intermittent to help prolong the power if needed. I did this because we lost power for a while in California and i freaked out about OMG all my tanks have no air. Well I don't worry any more about it because of the battery backup pumps. I also have others that take D batteries that i can add if more air is needed on the tanks. but the usb powered battery backups work good and i have a few dual pumps and some single pumps. the heat thing though might mess up the tanks. Appreciate this video.
Yes I lost a couple of nice fish in Philadelphia when the power went off now in have 10 battery powered air supply’s I haven’t lost any fish the last couple of years
May I suggest you look into getting the extra Solar Panel that usually is offered with these generators.....god forbid u have no power for extended time the panel is a continuous source of power.....I live on the East Coast where my power was knocked out for 8 days during Hurricane Sandy
Really considering that power bank. I figure if we, as hobbyists are willing to invest 1500-2 grand on an aquarium, what is 1500-2 grand for something that is going to help protect your investment.
I know it’s off topic but do you think a firemouth, Nicaraguan, electric blue acara, and a blood parrot would work well in a 75 gallon with some swordtails for dither fish?
@@CichlidBros yes I can see that, what I'm talking about is the heater and the filter. How do they come on when the power goes out and you're not at home?
I currently have a 1 gallon jug in each of my tanks dripping water in slowly to break the surface I'm currently at 15 hours do you recommend any water changes
GREAT VIDEO....I KNEW ALL THESE THINGS....BUT ITS GREAT ADVICE FOR OTHER AQUARISTS.......LOVE ALL YOUR TANKS.....YOU CAN SEE THAT YOU LOVE THE HOBBY A LOT......
Super informative video! This was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. You bros are almost at 100k subs! 🎉

Awesome, good to hear!
I have enough sponge filters with Aquarium Coop air pumps for my tanks now, but I am saving for a big power bank in the future.

Love to hear that! Thanks for following along with the channel!

Definitely a wise investment, I live in California so there are always blackouts, I pickup up a dual fuel generator for the home and aquariums,
I had a Discus tank when the power in Texas went out for several days. It was also

Lot of good information in this video, but I really wanted an update on the plywood aquarium.
It’s coming soon, but it takes time

Yep! Especially if you use it for your home at times as well

What about starters that don't have any of that, are there manual ways???
That's nice to see, but what do you do if you're getting a power outage and you're not at home, for example on a vacation or just a weekend get away?
I’d get the battery backup from aquarium co op. Turns on when power goes out
@@CichlidBros yes I can see that, what I'm talking about is the heater and the filter. How do they come on when the power goes out and you're not at home?
I use a bluetti battery backup with a ups inside so it's a automatic power move and everybody is safe
I currently have a 1 gallon jug in each of my tanks dripping water in slowly to break the surface I'm currently at 15 hours do you recommend any water changes
My fish dont die if the power goes out
Just move to a country where there's a very small chance for a power cut.
I got a generator
Very nice
All you need is an usb air pump with an airstone and a powerbank.
What about people who live in India and Pakistan? 😂 They'd be doing this every week
Lol, why club india with Pakistan my friend.
There's no outage in metros here at all
😂😂😂
