Today’s episode covers Threshold by River Patrol for the Atari 2600 VCS system). It’s based on an arcade game by Orca and is extremely rare! But is it any good? Let’s play River Patrol and find out!

The swimmers look like they want to "raise the roof"

Ah, Toaplan, one of the grand old shooter devs. Thems was the days.

It's funny. "Sorry Mr. swimmer guy. I can't be turning my boat around to save you, my boat is leaking!" Can't the "River Patrol" throw a life vest or something?
    Awesome.

Does these cartage fit well with Atari 5200's VCS Adaptor?

Great review Phil. You are so lucky to get this one in a lot ! I own all the Tigervision carts apart from this, but think it's a bit too much to spend so it'll probably stay that way.

I've played this game, but thru an emulator called EMU7800. I downloaded it for FREE at the Microsoft Store. This is one of several games that was pro-loaded into it. The music drove me a little batty. :)

Which one did you downloaded for free? The arcade game or Atari 2600's?

@@Nestalgba92023 The Atari 2600 version. I also now own a reproduction cartridge which I purchased at AtariAge. An original cart of the game is extremely rare.

That tune is lovely but it would drive me bonkers after a while. It's second only in deceptive beauty to a game AVGN reviewed which looped a few seconds of a Chinese communist song.
But it's still lovely to listen to until about the 78th time it loops.

Hey, is this for sale??? I’m a huge Atari 2600 collector, and this is one of the only games I don’t own. Would you be willing to sell it
