As a person who loves spending hours on character creation I’m a bit sad that I won’t be able to choose eyes, nose and mouth separated from each other.
But I think I will get over it.
Well, there’s the Sims for that ig
agreed, I love CC and although I still love how we can CC in HL, it’d have been awesome to actually dive deep into CC details, size, shape, width and height of everything, it’s be awesome if we could but I know this game is still going to be amazing
I think it's kinda lazy not giving the option to choose the eye color. It's such a basic feature in almost every Character Creation...
btw if you wanna try the king of Cc's and you're not afraid of souls like games, then you should play nioh 2.
@@zaynvarenshutain it's not the main part of the game and in the end I don't think you'll really notice eyecolour a lot whole playing. Most of the time you'll probably just see the back of your character
Nah it’s pretty bad
I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty good. But I'm still kinda disappointed. Main things that I miss in here are:
- Face sliders and separate presets for individual parts of the face like nose, mouth, etc.
- Height and body sliders.
- Custom skin and hair color.
no body sliders, just height
there is a hair color option. This guy just didn't do his due diligence and went through the options using a bald hairstyle pretty much. Made a 5 minute video and he couldnt even get that right. xD
also there is no male or female option either and they talk about how transphobic it is XD
@@ProfligateGhost I'm taking about custom colors not presets
i wish there was body sliders mostly. just kinda sucks that i could make the face look like me and the body would still look like everyone else's
Overall pretty decent character creation. Main thing that I kinda miss is a height slider, as it would be nice if we could make our character shorter or taller. Also the voice pitch slider could use some tuning, as it makes the voices sound pretty bad at either end of the slider.
How can you "miss" something none of the Harry Potter games ever had. Also, height slider would add nothing to the game gameplay wise, pointless.
@@blackbat908 They mean miss in terms of RPG. Most RPG games with character customisation let you either have a preset heights or a height slider. It just helps with the immersion and personalisation.
@@blackbat908 Dragon's Dogma had height/weight scaler because it affected gameplay, you could balance it out by making clones in different heights/weight and skills. For a game like this it probably wouldn't be best suited but say if you wanted to wear heavy magic resistant armour, you would need a more larger character who can only don that armour.
@@blackbat908 Have you played a video game before?
@@N93000 yeah but tbf dragon's dogma is the underated goat of RPGs
I really like the ui of the character creation, really fits with the theme and everything. I just hoped that we would have been able to choose nose, mouth and eye shapes separately. I like to make my character look as much like me as possible, so thats kinda a bummer. I wasn’t even thinking pf something as excessive like black desert, but just having the option between the different shapes would’ve been nice.
But ofc the game is more than just character creation, can’t wait to see what it will bring :).
Ultra instinct is pretty cool, though I personally prefer ultra ego or the style of beast gohan
You can’t change their weight or height tho 🤷♂️ so much for being unique
Or cheekbones
Kinda sad that the skin shade slider doesn't include pale or more deeper skin tones. My Irish pale skin isn't an option in the game ... Oh well I'll create an OC instead :D
No beards Q_Q, Im going to create a female OC too lol.
@@vidyastuff3509 Not PC to have realistic complexions for native Celts in modern games, they'd get even more hate from certain crowds than they already do.

Had a chuckle when he said no beards…I know plenty of kids myself included that had beards at this age it was crazy mine didn’t grow in amazing but some of the other guys I went to school with had full on Viking beards going on haha
BROOO SAME 😂😂😂😂😂
Where’s the beards? I was already bearded at the end of middle school and vikingly grown at high-school.
People always telling me I look like Harry Potter.
Hogwarts Legacy: Guess what hairstyle we don't have?
I love how to show off the hair colors you made the character bald.
id give it a 7/10. i hope they tweak it a little. id rather they show all the colors instead of having to slide to find the right one and also the voice slider is bad ngl
(edit) i dont think it needs to be as complex as something like the sims but i think some areas could use more customization like height/body type
the character looking you in the eye while you customize him was lowkey scary
I was spooked, uncanny valley territory
I do love the character creation. I just think, the skin color slider could use more lighter tones. The lightest one still just looks too tanned, I think. I wanna create myself, as I'm sure a lot do, and I'm pale af, so I think that's kinda missing. I mean, it's cool that to the right, there's a lot of options, but not really for really light skin.
Otherwise really looking forward to character creation! It's honestly one of my favourite things.
yeah, i'm extremely pale too and i noticed the lightest shade was pretty tan for me. i'm hoping it's just lighting and the tone would change or show itself better in gameplay
@@belle8732 True, could be the case. We'll see ☺️
100% feel you on this. But people like me with darker skin tones have been dealing with this forever now. Especially getting a decent hairstyle in a game. Sometimes I can't even get my exact skin tone as it is too dark or too light. Just have to deal with it like the rest of us unfortunately.
@@mauriciolorenzo1552right. I love this actually. Now folks know how we’ve felt for 2 decades of gaming lol. It’s hilarious
One thing I'm curious about is whether they used this same character creation for the npcs. Or do they custom design npc looks. Nothing worse then spending a bunch of time trying to create a unique character and 10 minutes into your playthrough, random npc "Bobby" and yourself are twinsies....
I get where you're coming from, but sometimes I hate that NPC's have great hairstyles or face attributes that your character can't use. (Pokémon games for example)
Feel the voice pitch could’ve used a bit more work ngl, overall though, it looks pretty good. Then again, it’s not too hard to impress me with character creation, especially when games like The Division or Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order goes for the bare minimum with customization. Can’t wait to see more gameplay. 🎉
Pretty sure the creators said that the voice pitch was a glitch and that it would be getting fixed before the game releases. Might be wrong though
@Ms Moon Boo fyi, yes, I have played Skyrim, ESO, and Black Desert. As well as seen Dragon’s Dogma.
But I’m not comparing to those older games, more of games being released in the now. Cyberpunk was nice, but still limited in the customization department, especially when I felt you could go buck wild in a setting like Cyberpunk.
@@Resident_avonU hopefully, tho I’m not too anal about the voice pitching. Hope that there’s more to clothing customization tho
@@vinokai there will be. Clothing will be found in loot, given to you after quests, pre order bonuses and a shop at hogsmede
What the heck GUYS?! This is unacceptable. we can't let the developers get away with this. the voice pitch sounds robotic! the Game is Unplayable! 5/10 lazy devs!
This is sarcasm.
As a former kid I can attest that some of us had beards, I had a full beard by the time I was 15.
You know what as someone who loves spending hours in character creators perfecting every little detail I'm actually happy with this for some reason probably because even though it's presets there's a good selection
I know the game is set in the past but did the character creator also have to be?
If i cant make my character look like a clay statue that has been attacked by multiple cars, im not gonna bother with playing it😤
But there's cats in the game
okay then don’t play it 🤷♀️
And watch you still play it😂
@@99tillinfinityyt97 it’s a joke….
There's just something bout "its arekks here" glad you're still around in some capacity
I think they realized the main guy completely leaving would be very bad for the channels future
I just really hope we can choose height and body shape
You should've shown the back of their heads for the female hairstyles. Otherwise I can't really see much
I'm one of those people that spends hours in character creators.
But the most difficult choice I'm gonna make is between being Hufflepuff or Slytherin. Good wizard or evil...
Guess I've got at least 2 playthroughs ahead of me.
I'd say the Hufflepuffs are the evil ones, with the bunch of degenerates i see out there claiming to be Hufflepuffs 😂
Oh boy, I have at least three walkthroughs to do!
Try being evil as a Hufflepuff
There's no “evil” house in the lore o.o
@@Mr.PR2000 this. It's so annoying to see people claiming that Slytherin is evil just because Tom Riddle was a part of it, or Draco being a douche.
Damn I wanted to make an albino sort of character. You can't even make a pale of fair skinned character really (tanned redheads Scotland? Really?). Guess everyone in the 1800s Scotland was hitting the tanning booth.
@@IsaHarrisonLennon There are a lot of games that are like that in "current year". I'm of mixed heritage myself. But what I'm seeing is games are too afraid to make white people. Like northern European white. Plenty of options for Mediterranean or southern European, but it's as if they're scared of a certain group of vocal journos who will shame them for "glorifying" fair skin. Cyberpunk was another game, you could at best get olive skin for a Caucasian.
They talk a lot about "representation and diversity" yet here you are, a person who has red hair and fair skin, who has no representation in a game that takes place in SCOTTLAND. LOL. It's really silly.
I happen to like making silver haired albino characters, almost pearlescent if I can get away with it. But that's just mee.
@@IsaHarrisonLennon I completely understand. My grandmother is of Spanish descent with red hair and fair skin. My dad is half black half Hispanics, he has hazel eyes. Much of my families is Hispanics with brown or olive skin. But we have Caucasian in our family mix as well as some African.
In "current year" it is acceptable to erase and alter European history and culture. They brownwash a lot of it. I didn't like whitewashing in the 80's and 90's but now the opposite is the problem.
@@IsaHarrisonLennon sorry about intruding, and, yeah, that's sad; it's the world we live in. Can't share any fair criticism without being labeled as a bigot or racist, it's baffling.
The game unfortunately is reeking laziness for me for now; the customization alone is mediocre at best, the facial animations are weird in certain characters and the sound design isn't that groundbreaking for a fantasy game. I'm kinda sad 'cause I preordered it, a man got to learn his lesson though, preordering is asking to he disappointed nowadays.
Stay strong. I myself believe that ginger racism (or, in fact, just straight up racism, as it is applicable to any race, which some people don't understand) is very real, you can see that there's likely to very few media that represent pale, ginger people, Little Mermaid's Ariel is one of the best examples of a missed opportunity. Be well, and don't let these injustices grow on you, you're better than these folks.
@@IsaHarrisonLennon Not playing the game just because there is no your colour skin is just being ignorant XD SO what, you won't play for example the walking dead, gta san andreas or other games because the have different colour skin than yours? what XD It is sooo stupid, I am pale white European myself, and I played cyberpunk for GREAT STORY, not for some stupid customization that is not that even important. Like just enjoy the quality and story, but what - you wont just because you cant do your skin colour. so sad.
@@Magdalenka2001 help
voice pitch gets real tinny up high, I'm sure they could have implemented that better without it sounding so artificial in the higher registers.
They could've just had 4 voice actors for each sex.
They said that they'll fix it, I can't remember if it was before or day 1 of release though
@@grandempressvicky6387 But then they would say it is transphobic lmao. You simply can't win with the progressive mob.
Great, show us a hair colors with shortest hair option possible.
I like the customisation, it's always my favourite part of games but I am bummed I can't have more specific face shapes. Since the presets that look the most like me don't have my nose or lip shape
Thank you for posting this with details pertaining to the game in question.
Been waiting for this game. Loving everything I've seen.
Considering I had a full beard at the start of junior year I kind wished we at least had a stubble option but oh well
Didn't mess with eye colors and should have chosen better hair to show hair color
Wish we had facial hair. You always had that 1 guy 🤣
Lol the chipmunk voice at the end
I'm incredibly bummed that there are no beards. I was excited to make myself in the Potterverse. Perhaps they'll add it in the future? Wishful thinking I suppose.
I mean tbf you are playing as a 15 year old but atleast a stubble option would be nice. Cause ik I atleast had some. Also where's height/body options
Maybe as the game progresses, you will grow facial hair if you are a male! Just light stubble being young, but still.
@@giannidags Oh yes on the height/body option. I wanted to play a jock/meathead wizard.
@@giannidags lol yeah my dad had a sweet stache at only 13. He looked like he was over 20 in his school photos
My profile pic doesn't look it but I lost my ID for drinking so Iam rocking the full beard a ATM and loving it but feel your pain
Tbh it's probably safe to design to yourself but at 15, I know in some games my first playthrough is usually of a character that is myself
I dont anything about harry potter. But the customizations and open world kinda makes me wanna play this. Still on the fence tho.
I never understood why western character creators severely lack bangs for their characters, I have straight hair with fresh cut bangs and only one hair had something somewhat similar (the hermoine hairstyle), which was still inaccurate.
The lack of pale skinned common British people in the presets is so glaring. This is set in England in the 1890s, a time when there were like 5 black people and maybe 1 person from the orient. Do the Irish just not exist?
It's still character creation. It's not indicative of what characters in the world are going to look like. The whole point of a template is a starting point or foundation for how they want their character to look. Seeing as modern gamers aren't all white men, the variety of templates makes sense. Also they showed a skin tone slider so you can make your character as pasty as you wish. Making something out of nothing my friend.
@@ZeroFamilon you know just as much as I do that they creators did it on purpose. This has been the trend in all forms for media for years now. Often times “diversity” really does mean anti white. Imagine if you made a tv show or video game set in feudal Japan and 60 percent of the people weren’t even native Japanese. Hobbits are white. Samurai are Japanese. Everyone needs to stop with the strange race swapping.
Actually The Moors where in England at the time period and England Scotland, Spain has Millions of BLACK PEOPLE. And just so you know the form of magic they use in Harry Potter is actually taken from Egypt. magic (voodoo religion) is a practice that originated in Africa and was thought to Europeans after the colonial ice age. Just a lil information for you
@@GunzWit4nem1 Spain had millions of black people? What?! That's laughably not true AT ALL! Much like the French, the Spaniards come from a combination of Celtic (Celtiberians), Roman (Italic) and Germanic (Visigoths) peoples.
Also, the Moors were North African Berbers! Berbers are not black since they are not from Sub-Saharan Africa.
Lastly, the "magic" they use in Harry Potter takes explicit inspiration from Europe's medieval alchemy and rennaissance magick systems; these, in turn, took inspiration from Hellenistic and Jewish texts.
@@IsaHarrisonLennon bro the North Africans we’re BLACK. What are you talking about? And I didn’t mean SPAIN ALONE had millions of Africans I meant between all the places I named together had millions of Africans. My apologies for not stating that part clearly. XD MAGIC derives from northern and west African my good brother. “Voodoo” as people call it was originally respected as the religion of Africa which is the start place of all civilization. However, you are right it did expand across many places but those places often had AFRICAN people in that region including in Roman, and the aforementioned places you named King.
Character customization already looks pretty weak. It is not very promising when a game with this type of hype starts off at the very beginning with a sub-par customization. Even the single voice at the end has only a pitch change with reverb because of severe laziness or understaffed disorganization. I pre-purchased three of these to share with friends and family and I'm already feeling regret.
I honestly should have suspected the typical money grab and refrained from investing early, like I always do. I really hope I'm wrong but if this video is portraying the customization accurately, that is a strong indicator of very lazy work just off the bat.
@@IsaHarrisonLennon it's terrible, the character creation in this game is a solid 3/10
All of them look unrealistically Asian/African.
Controversial I know... But what ethnicity was predominant in 1800's England? I don't mind diversity, but they all literally look disproportionately non-English for the setting the game is supposed to be on.
Dude cycles through hair color with shaved head, bruh moment 😒
For anyone wondering about pale skin complexion, the lighting in the character customization level that we are in seems warmly lit with low lighting. If you think the skin tone on the far left doesn't match you, wait until you're in game and in a dynamic environment before making your final comment or decision on the legitimacy of the options. The limited head morphs they have are a loving compromise to make sure that everyone can consistently look as polished as possible throughout gameplay. If they allowed sculpting, people would tarnish the legitimacy of their curated experience with characters that are hard to look at. It likely wasn't a call by the developers and more so Warner Bros themselves to retain the authenticity of the Wizarding World as an IP as much as possible. It's also highly resource intensive to create tons of cc options in a game.
@isaharrisonlennon255 What platform are you playing it on? If you ever manage to play it on pc, the modding community will 100% manage to fix whatever woes you have.
I cant relate to your issue. I am as pale as drywall and I come from a family of red heads, despite me having brown hair. If I have the opportunity to have a little color to my skin in a game I take it. I don't need to look like an olive but I don't need to be represented as much with pale skin as it seems to bother you. Hope you manage to get what helps you immerse yourself over time. Who knows, maybe the game will be so good that you'll forget about your complexion.
its not a mmo so why whould it matter if there hard to look at
Well there goes my hopes of creating Lord Voldemort. I guess I could settle for Tom Riddle. 🤣
Modders will probably do it within a year
My only complaint is that your default build for your character is stuck to average, so at most i could only make a skinny version of me, other than that though, everything else looks pretty great!
to be fair my beard started growing at age 12 and by age 14 i could actually grow a decent beard.
I’m just imagining all the straggly teenager beards at Hogwarts 😂
Can’t wait to make Walter white a part of the wizard of world
Me after realizing there is no snape hairstyle:
“My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined”
You seriously unironically showing the different haircolours with the bald option selected?
The voice pitches sound really electronic, kinda weird.
No loose shoulder length straight hair kinda killed it for me tbh
I don't care if it makes sense or not. If I can't have a beard then I'm not buying it 😏
Yo this is so cool. Honestly, I can’t wait till I can recreate Lucius Malfoy young version on this. For research purposes only of course…
In these kinds of things do you try to make your character look as resembling as possible to your real self or do you just make a character you think looks cool?
depends on what u wanna do. some ppl might create someone they think is cool to escape from the real world or someone might make a character that looks like themselves to feel more immersed in the game
For a game like this, I’d make it look more like me, and make the character male, which in most other games I’d play as a female
i was told the devs were gonna patch the robotic voice before the game releases. Glad to know they didn't fix the voices. Hoping we get a patch soon.
hahahahaha the sound effects sound just like the ones for the pixie hollow character creation its so nostalgic
Weird they went the sims route with voice. They should have given you perhaps 5 or 6 options. A deep and higher or nuetral Male and female, and perhaps something gender nuetral and one accent so they dont all sound white.
I can see some players thinking this character customization is shallow, but I've never cared too much for super in-depth customization anyway, so it doesn't really bother me.
The highest pitch is funny 🤣
You didnt put actually hair on for the hair colours
I guess video games will never have a sharp hairline with a fade in character creation.
Sad days theres no mullet
thank god
Lol
No place for mullet born at hogwarts, as it should be.
no french/dutch braids!? 0/10 game, unplayable tbh smh my head
that voice pitch be nastyyy
Face shapes and hairstyles: I sleep
Face sliders and scar options: real shit
Clearly this video was made without any thought. You missed some options and showed off hair color using a bald person. 2 Thumbs up on that one.
There's a huge variety of black hair styles 😭
I had a beard in high-school kinda stupid, they don't let you.
"There are no beards, but of course they're kids so it makes sense" These brats are wizards- NO EXCUSES~ In all honesty I wouldn't be surprised if you learn a spell for facial hair ...
But the plot is that your character was not a wizard until the start of the game
No beards, but 9 different kinds of tough-guy facial scarring? 🤔
@@LittleMountain90 The appearance of a scar, unlike a beard, does not depend on age.

I kinda wish there were different voices other than just an option for a boy and an option for a girl.
1:46 YES SOOOO BEAUTIFUL LOVE THIS HAIR
elden ring has a better character creator
I hate that there's no pale white skin in this game. Even the brightest skin looks so dark
There are very less facial dynamic especially the lips and the jaw area. Pretty much the same. None of the faces have thin lips
We will just have to wait for a Mod on PC for Beards sadly.
Dude why are you choosing bald before the selection of hair colours and the biggest glasses before choosing your eye brows. That is dirty.
:( no beards bruh. I'm just going to play a female character if I cant make one that looks like me.
This sparks joy in me
The Basic Outfit reminds me of Constantine.
Why do the voices sound so strange when you change the pitch. I hope they can adjust this with a patch because the dialogue is driving me insane when my character talks it sounds like he’s talking through a pipe 🫤
If you put the third glasses your character looks like cash in manhunt
Can you change and remove footwear?
May be a dumb question but can I be from America in the game?
light facial hair would had been a good touch.. i mean at 15- 17 i was still able to grow a small goatee , and a thin mustache like most males at that age
My character looks sò much like me when I was 16, it's legit freaking me out while amazing me at the same time.
One of the tone settings for the voice is even legitimately how mine sounds.
And the freakiest part?
He says èxactly what I would say in every situation he's in.
Creeping me out xD I love it though
No heavy kid options?
It's really weird how you show hair color on a nearly bold model...
Wish I could make my female character closer to my height at 5ft8...female characters in this game all look super short ~5ft4
That pitch slider is a good idea on paper, but man does it sound awful in practice
I've seen the films, but I wouldn't call myself a hardcore fan. That said, I'm enjoying this game. I wish all major brands put forth such effort for a true create-a-player experience.
I wish there was a male/female option to make things simpler lol
You can't have that in modern woke games. I can allready see if they would add female or male voice instead of 1 or 2, there would be twitter marxists outcry.
There is a wizard/witch option.
Why is *everyone* so oddly swarthy? This game takes place in 1800s england, I have white skin, and I'm not even represented in the game
First game to ever actually have my hairstyle
cannot believe they dont have my hair Future Trunks hair
Is there a full video of the passage?
This is weird, you were able to pick eye color in that review copy they made
Imagine Tom Holland being the first character you see in this video.
Bro they got my scar but in the wrong eye hopefully you can invert it in the future otherwise I gotta use that long ass scar
Homie look like Anthony Fantano
When I get this game I’m creating the character ‘Henry Potter’ in the pottemore verse he is the great-grandfather of Harry Potter. I will put him in Ravenclaw as according to the character bio that’s where Henry was sorted into. Also the timeline fits, as Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the 1890s and the character of Henry would be in the right age for the time period! 😊
No beards, but crazy ass scars okay makes sense 😂
kids usually don't have beards xD
It's a game centered around a magical school.... Would prolly be creepy and immersion breaking to have some students looking 30+ years old with a gnarly beards.
@@JawasRandomStuff They still could make a slider for a very small teenage beard/mustache .
out of every scar they dont add the iconic harry potter one
I wasn't even interested in this game when I heard about it but seeing gameplay and that I definitely want it and tbh it'll be great for when I visit my nan as I can tell her about this cos she is a huge Harry Potter fan.
