I learned this lesson the hard way. I was playing in the state championship for my high school and a bigger dude fell on my leg on a play for a loose ball. I got up and couldn’t really walk I had dislocated my knee. Instead of sitting out and calling it a day I popped it back in place to keep playing. Boy did my doctor call me a dumbass. It would have only been a 3 month recovery had I just left it alone I made it a 9 month one. Now I can still hear my knee crack from time to time.
