Culinary confession time: I’ve always bought frozen artichoke hearts because I’ve been intimidated by the prep. But you make it look so simple. I think it’s time to conquer the artichoke!
I cook mine the same way but leave the outer leaves on. They have a lot of great fiber. I also add anchovy paste to the garlic. Then put anchovy sauce over artichoke then browning under the broiler. Delicious
Those look delicious. So many artichoke dishes cover the delicate flavor of the artichokes themselves - this recipe makes them the absolute star of the show and helps them shine! Hope you’re continuing to feel better and make a full recovery.
OK first I love Artichokes and as an avid gardener I love growing things most won't. So I planted my artichokes by seed and this is their 3rd year and I got some nice artichokes. So I had NO idea on how to cook them and how to get the choke out. I watched your video and just tried to do it on one. THANK YOU it was that easy after seeing you do it. If I do say so it came out great, Thanks again.
What a perfect timing for me! Just bought artichokes yesterday because I just love them on my sourbread toast! But I’ve changed my mind after seeing this video! Can’t wait! Gracias señor🙏
I just bought my first artichokes ever. I love to eat them but I’ve never cooked them myself. Thank you for your Garlic Artichoke recipe, I’m going to use it today!👍🏻❤️🌱
I have one artichoke. I'm going to try this tonight with salmon and potatoes. I just got my sweet and spicy paprika in too! I can't wait to try your spicy pasta dish!
Artichokes and garlic exactly what i thought. I KNOW that 2 combined together is a simplest way but very beneficial as garlic known for almost everything! I will add steamed fry bacon for toppings! That what i gonna cook for lunch today! Wooopieee
Albert: Delicious! *_I❤ARTICHOKES!!!_* These are fantastic, especially with all the garlic-goodness you add to them. A definite WILL-try (¿Cómo se dice, "here goes"?) Thanks again! (Fan from San Francisco, California.) *!!~
always been scared of preparing artichokes but thanks to this vid I can confidently do it! Thanks again for a beautiful yet easy recipe! P.S So sorry you became ill with COVID! I hope you and your family are all happy and healthy! Take care of yourself
Hola! I love this recipe and will definitely try it; you make it so easy and simple to follow! Thank you so much! I also love the Spanish flamenco music in the background! 🙏☺️
Hi este platillo es extraordinario ne encanta consumir alcachofas preparare este platillo 😋😋😋😋😋 Muchas gracias x compartir . Saludes lo mejor para ti desde Utah.
I Agree...And He Used Most If Not All Of The Edible Parts, Many Others Tend To Cut Off Viable Leaf Pulp & Stems Unnecessarily... THANK YOU❣ - So Many 😎😎 Ways To Spice This👏🏾
Simple and delicious. Though here in the UK artichokes are generally much larger with the concomitant fibrous centres which are the devil's own job to remove.
Every artichoke has them. That spiky center with the hairy base, atop the heart, is called the “choke.” Large or small (as he showed here), it’s easy to scoop out once the artichoke is halved.
Ola Alberto; hope you are back to good health. Please tell me which parsley type you use, the flat leaf Italian type, curly or is there a Spanish type?
Un sistema muy bueno para pelar los ajos es,ponerlos dentro de un frasco de cristal vacío de judías o similar, taparlo con su tapa, y sacudirlo hasta que se haya desprendido toda la piel , en menos de un minuto quedan todos pelados.
Run around the house semi naked scattering them in the air with every skip you take then blame it on Covid when the wife asks you what the hell you are doing, in the UK you could blame it on Brexit! Alternatively put them in the compost bin making sure you are fully clothed.
I was going to ask the same question. I love artichokes so much that I couldn't just throw away 3/4 of them! I imagine you could cook them in water to get a artichoky broth, then turn that into soup?
What a great twist on artichokes. My only comment is the loss of all those great leaves that contain tasty scrapable bites. I think I'd save them for a pot of boiled, garlic water and serve them as a side dish.
I am in the process of cooking this recipe right now. It was so effortless for you. Not for me. It only worked after I peeled the leaves without cutting the top off. I had enough problems, so I had to skip the lemon juice. It was hard for me to tell when to stop peeling. Also, the fluff was difficult to get out with a spoon or with anything. I did not end up with the empty middles you had. My artichokes were probably not as good as yours and my cooking skills obviously weren't as good. You make it look so easy. I hope they taste good. But this was too much work for me. I did put the leaves in a bowl, as you suggested, which cut down on the mess a bit. When I got a heart, it was delicious. But my artichokes were inferior. They were all tough leaves. Next time, I will use canned. My store does not have good artichokes. Too much waste. I knew mine didn't look like the ones you had. Good recipe, but I had an inferior product.

Yes! Much love :)
But don’t skip the lemon part… I thought I don’t need it but the artichokes went brown after 30 seconds :D
I cook mine the same way but leave the outer leaves on. They have a lot of great fiber. I also add anchovy paste to the garlic. Then put anchovy sauce over artichoke then browning under the broiler. Delicious
Oh man. That sounds amazing.
A broiler has the heating elements over the food to brown the top

dude, you are super sympathetic! thank you señor
Appreciate the comment! Much love :)
My friends just boiled them and enjoyed the outer leaves, as well. Very plain, but they didn't waste them
That's what my mother did and we'd eat them leaves and all, but my dad would always tell us not to eat the "whiskers".
Excited to try this! I had no idea how to cook artichokes! I have ate them and love them though. Thanks for more delicious recipes!

Most of the outer leaves are good imo. I’ve only had just steamed artichokes with butter or vinaigrette before so the garlic olive oil is interesting

do you have any traditional recipes from galicia?

Thank you 😋
I just found out artichokes keep ur liver healthy so this will be a regular for me ❤
Yes! Much love :)
Wonderful!
Now curious, is there any suggestions on what to do with the 'peelings/ leaves' in the bowl?
Run around the house semi naked scattering them in the air with every skip you take then blame it on Covid when the wife asks you what the hell you are doing, in the UK you could blame it on Brexit! Alternatively put them in the compost bin making sure you are fully clothed.

Use them to make vegetable broth :) much love
Do you use elephant garlic in any of your cooking? Haven't seen any?
Do you have any great Spanish chicken dishes?
Can you eat these cold??
Absolutely! Much love :)
I don't know anything about artichokes, what do you do with all the green leaves?
Use them to make vegetable broth :) much love
What a great twist on artichokes. My only comment is the loss of all those great leaves that contain tasty scrapable bites. I think I'd save them for a pot of boiled, garlic water and serve them as a side dish.
You put the whole thing in your mouth. If I did the same I might (arti)choke. Haha. Yum. Thanks!
lol...Much love :)

Ahhhh waisted leaves! Throw em in just for small nibbles and the browning doesnt hurt, but other wise moi
Waste those perfectly good leaves?
Alot of wasted artichoke parts no?

I am sure it is delicious but all I see here is a lot of wasted artichoke being thrown away..
I just cut my artichokes up and there was practically nothing there so I threw them out. what a waste of money!
I got dizzy watching your spinning that pan. Lol
There's nothing left, after the preparation! Ridiculous.
Artichokes, 2 for the price of 1.
