I don't have any interest in trying to speed run or any other crazy challenge. But it's fun watching them sometimes. The only challenge I do is cranking up the difficulty in games that have them. Or for Souls games use fist weapons which is hard not to die against the PvE with that weapon type in my experience
I think Dark Souls is the most popular no hit game because more than any other game Dark Souls wants to hit you. Its identity is defined by how easily it will shred you. So the idea of not just beating it, but annihilating it is very appealing.🤣
I suddenly remember that stream where Zentreya was going to beat Dark Souls with a No Hit run, she was at the last boss... and a pop up update appeared from the Blizzard Battlenet, which caused her to not being able to see and then she got hit. Which of course ruined her entire run. I swear I even uninstalled my own Blizzard Battlenet server from my computer in solidarity.
Imagine one day, Miyazaki adds a little tiny easter egg where if you manage to beat his next game no-hit SL1 a random knife comes out of nowhere and kills ya right after the final boss fades into dust. XD

it's not just a no hit run but a no damage run which means any gravity damage means you restart it's just an incredibly insane run
