I just finished episode 12. It does feel like the lyrics are foreshadowing something. I'm not a manga reader btw. That said, Yosuke did return to Japan. And what we know about his personality is that he erases traumatic events with magic. my working theory is something bad had to happen for him to return to earth with no recollection of the details. probably erased the memories because it was so bad. I dont hope my theory is right because Uncle needs a break

When it comes to nostalgia, it has the effect of watching the god only knows series, which gives me this all the time, but it made me feel an unknown nostalgia while reading new parts or listening to their music.
The anime actually covered pretty much all of the manga up to this point. There are only a few more chapters after the anime. I think they do a new chapter like every month or two.
This anime is the realest visualization of what looking back at your life when your 40 is gonna be like. You're gonna see all those girls you could have been with in hindsight, the power you had, and the fun you were having. Maybe the OP is hinting at that, "I believe in what I've done, no reason to go back again". "Trust yourself and don't forget". Ect, either way, when I look at my past, all I notice are the opportunities I missed, and I'm not sure how I should be feeling.

I heard from someone in AnimeNewsNetwork, it's due to the fact that there is no staffs yet (idk how and why it happens). Ippei Ichii (the same animator who got underpaid by Netflix/Mappa for animating Yasuke) said on his Twitter that it was decided not to direct ep 10.
Truly an amazing anime. Thank you so much for bringing it to us, Netflix. It was an unforgettable journey. Here's hoping for Season 2 of Isekai Ojisan.
If a 2nd season will see the light of day, we'll wait at least 2 years, since the anime got almost everything out from the manga till this moment (7 issues on the 1st season out of 9 issues, in a 5 years run). But it is an ongoing series and a popular one, so it's possible.
Despite the small production team and multiple delays killing most of its hype, I think this series turned out to be pretty great and very special. I'll hold out hope for a second season...
A reverse isekai and a love letter to SEGA fans...the love and care about every single detail and part...a well made own language with structure, many correct references and you don't lose track since it barely has one...the switches to the actual world and the other don't annoy at all and its very balanced...its way different than other isekais because its reverse (meaning he returns to his actual world instead of landing in one at the beginning)...and the characters are just love and comfortable to watch...the story is awesome and simple and doesn't confuse the watcher... a great anime, a really great one and that in such a season...a well hidden gem...
I found my new obsession in this world. This manga and anime feel so special, it has such a 90's feeling, yet it mixes up comedy and interesting stuff at every turn, he takes the tropes of what we've come to expect from your Isekai anime and changes them completely. Yousuke is such a fun protagonist, I ended up swallowing the entire manga in 1 day. Hopefully we get a full season 2 one day.
don't see the 90s influence in either the show or the manga. They talk a lot about the 90s WITHIN the story, but the story itself felt... well... modern... maybe not associated with any timeframe... but not too differetn from other modern manga I've read during the last few years.
For me, the lyrics felt like you quit a game (or being a gamer) but you are not denying the past that it gave you something worthwhile to cherish and remember :D

I literally just finished it today and It already feels nostalgic. The way Netflix kinda described this anime and how the artstyle looked from the thumbnail i thought this was gonna be more gloomy and "supernatural" sort of, but it turned out to be way better. It's worth your time.
I love this so much. One of the funniest anime i have watched. The german voice actors did an amazing job. The lore itself is pretty basic, average isekai but combined with the humor its just amazing. Honestly a 10/10 in my opinion.
Idk why, but this show filled something in my void that I’ve been missing for a very long time. Something about it just feels so nostalgic and beautiful. I feel so empty everytime an episode ends or when I know there’s only a few episodes left…it’s a show I wish could just keep going. Thank you to the writer and the animators for bringing this show to life. I really appreciate the impact it has had on me. ❤︎

A truly a love letter anime for SEGA.. I love this especially the uncle big smile at the end knowing his 17 yrs of ups and downs journey in the other world.
